Modern hotel in an historical city, placed a few steps from the main square and very close to Sassi.

Modern hotel. But without **** treatment. The staff had the cordiality and friendliness of the barracks from ex communist states. We really didn't feel welcome... No smile or friendly word at breakfast.We were here in autumn so the outdoor pool was closed. We had to pay 30 euros for the indoor pool and wellness (90 min), which we didn't. Usual hotel for simple stay. Nice pool, but not very friendly personell. No signs about pools and no one to explain the rules. Good brakfast.

Facilities were great, but a bit of a palaver to access the garden. Once there, fabulous. Swimming you have to pay towels and a swimming cap! On arrival the bar area was commandered by a baptism party and ended with a loud disco!! Breakfast choice was abundant, but the coffees ended up being lukewarm by the time you got to your table. Good modern hotel with very good food and terrific breakfast.Rooms modern and clean,bed slightly on small size.Only issue is having the bar in the restaurant with very few informal sitting areas to have a drink and chat.Not possible to walk into centre.

This is difinately the place to stay in Matera. Apart from being a great cozy, fine hotel you get to be in historical place with extra oridinery staff and owner.

We stayed for a 24h pit stop in Matera, we are glad we stayed at Corte San Pietro as Giuseppe and Cosimo made our 24h as perfect as possible. Excellent hotel right in the middle of Matera. Elegant, spacious rooms, very helpful and nice staff, great breakfast. The only small thing I'd change is put a blinder in the window in the room, since it was already broad daylight at 6am.

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way possible - rooms, location, staff (the owners are on site and very attentive and the staff - Anne, Rebecca and GianFranco - were very helpful). Stayed 2 nights ands wish we could have stayed for longer! The hotel is really nice, in a perfect location, the staff are lovely and will do anything to help. We stayed at Sant Angelo in September and what a place it is! Firstly, the hotel is fantastic, the service, the room, the view was fabulous (we had a room with balcony and a view of the city) we just couldn't fault it. The area where you have breakfast is up a couple of flights of stairs in a cave, done beautifully with the option to sit out and enjoy the spectacular view. Matera itself is breathtaking...

Wow, everything about this resort was absolutely fantastic!! The rooms are gorgeous, and very authentic caves. You can feel the history with every step you take! Amazing place! Central to everything and beautiful views. The room we had woke us up to beautiful filtered light. And the breakfast was great too. Make sure you ask for a cappuccino from Michela. It was the best Cappuccino we have had in Italy so far.

Fantastic hotel in heart of old town Matera. They arrange car parking and shuttle bus (for a fee) which is convenient. The room was very spacious, quiet and well maintained. Breakfast is buffet only, and you get charged extra for cooked options, which was a shame and thought all should be included in price. Overall, highly recommended and visiting Matera is a must (would recommend two nights)

This is a nice place near the "Sassi" and they let you check in as late as midnight. Good breakfast and nice personnel wrap it up.

Can’t say enough about the town of Matera, it’s beautiful, clean and the history is amazing! Our Hotel the Nazionale was fantastic! Just a short 15 minute walk to the centre square and the Sassi village. The Nazionale is new, modern and the staff are great. Ferdinando and Simone were our waiters for breakfast and dinner. Tricky to find the first time (in the Sassi down the stairs from the piano), but just a quick five minute walk from parking. Fantastic views. Rooms are scattered, but a small elevator is helpful. Rooms are air conditioned well with good wifi. Decor is reminiscent of a botique hotel. The pool is located in a cave and is stunning, but costs an extra 10 EUR to use. Terrific breakfasts. No room service...

Pretty good hotel. Nice and luxurious breakfast. Very special rooms some with real cave in it. The only negative is the Spa/Sauna. It’s not very well maintained, the Hamam ceiling is made of wood and filthy, the sauna tiny. Pool is ok. But 20€/person for 2h in this mediocre spa is overpriced.

Great place to experience the magic of Matera. Very nice breakfast in a large and atmospheric cave room. The cave rooms are cosy in early spring and definitely an experience. We opted in for the guided tour of Sassi which ended up being a highlight of our trip (many thanks to Alessio L).

This has been my most memorable hotel stay ever! I’ve stayed in a cave hotel on Santorini, Greece and this was by far much nicer and more authentic. This is a truly magical place that provides a very authentic experience of spending a night (or a few) in Matera. We stayed over for one night during the off season (in February) in the room with a bathtub and it was very relaxing to use it after a full day of traveling and exploring the town. We really enjoyed our stay in our large cave/room in Sasso Caveoso. The service was consistently excellent and breakfasts were truly superlative. We experienced just two down sides: noise from the pathway next to our place woke us early and some noise from the room above us disturbed us a bit, and we could not for the life of us adjust temperature on the shower (odd problem, I know). Dream structure in the center of Matera, excellent location for visiting the stones. The girls at the reception welcomed us with kindness and professionalism. We stayed in the cave room depandace. Maria served us breakfast and pampered us with scrambled eggs and bacon, super. All perfect! We will be back.

The building and the location are stunning, so as the rooms some of which have a panoramic view over the Sassi. Very nice and friendly staff and a very good level of service overall. The hotel has its own parking which is a huge plus as you can forget your car for the duration of your stay here.

Beautiful masseria, nearby Matera. The drawback of the central location is that the place feels more touristy rather than authentic, when compared to other masseria's. The room was good, however it couldn't get chill inside, even with the AC on Power the whole night. The breakfast was ok, choices were limited, fruit juice was not freshly made.

Just magic. The experience at Masseria Fontana di Vite is unique. I was pampered the whole weekend in one of the most romantic and authentic place I have ever been in my life. Food is so good and the service perfect. Highly suggested.

What a beautiful place! Our first encounter was with Francesco who is warm and welcoming. He showed us to our room and told us about the history of the hotel. A fantastic little spot. Really excellent service from the family (our flight was 3 hours late and they were there at 1:30am) to welcome us to our large, well air conditioned (was 36 degrees) room. Nice breakfast, full of local produce. Definitely need a car if you want to explore the area

Wide view of the endless fields next to Matera. This old farm has been converted in an idealistic hotel that is just starting. Loved the big rooms with old furniture together with more modern accents. The pool is very good, but the big score of this hotel is an even better breakfast. Most products come from the farm it self! Hope to see them soon, definitely coming back!

Charming Masseria in the middle of the countryside. Well-appointed and equipped rooms. Great staff, attentive and courteous. Quality dishes are served in the restaurant, and the service is efficient. Breakfast misses a hot option though. The owners add a nice presence. The only downside concerns the price which seems a bit over what you would expect for this standing. We had perfect holidays here. Every detail was perfect. We slept like babies in a very nice, clean, comfortable room. Before falling asleep we could hear the bats hunting around the hotel. 🦇🤩 At the reception we got a bottle of water in the middle of the night free of charge. A great way to experience the sassi of Matera. Was it worth €250 a night in August? No, not really, but still a fun and unique hotel to stay at. It is in the heart of old town Matera with plenty to see and do nearby. The roads are very small and parking is only for the locals. After to unload your guests and luggage you have to park back in town and walk 10 minutes to get back. That’s pretty normal...

Characteristic place, good for one night stay. When we arrived the girl at reception was very good, next morning the man at breakfast and check out was not in a good mood. Rooms clean and comfortable, no amenity in the bath as usual Italian hotels. Only shampoo and a small soap. We were lucky because they moved us in the old city in Palacio Gattini…luxury hotel partner of Alvino We parked on Alvino parking and they sent car for us .Next day I visit Alvino too.Nice modern designed hotel with garden.

We celebrated our promise of marriage on 29/06/2021, and despite the presence in the structure of the G20 delegation in Matera, in the same structure everything was absolutely perfect and exquisite. Truly exceptional organization! Highly recommended.
