The location is great and the facilities are clean and great. The only downside was that the heater was broken, making it difficult to sleep.
Splendid hotel, in the center of Matera, Francesca at the reception was helpful and competent. The room was wonderful with a gorgeous bathroom! I highly recommend it.
+ Very good location, spacious room, modern and comfortable but nevertheless remains very typical of the Sassi (do not expect the room to be very bright). Very pleasant bathroom and rather decent bedding. - The curtains do not allow you to achieve complete blackness. We stayed in room 201 which overlooks the street, which can be a little noisy with the traffic.
We stopped for one night...we were very satisfied, modern, clean, very characteristic hotel, very friendly staff...simple but complete breakfast. Excellent location located in the center between the two stones with the splendid Via del Corso full of shops and cafés... worth returning.
Located in the center of Matera but at the same time quiet. Very kind, affable, friendly staff. International breakfast. Mrs. Loredana is friendly and competent, like the rest of the staff.
Central and comfortable, in the center between the two Sassi and in the heart of the pedestrian area, therefore ideal for fully enjoying the city. Clean, well furnished rooms, the staff is attentive and very kind. Absolutely recommended place for those who want to visit the city

Great hotel just outside of the old town of Matera, but very easy 5-10 minute walk to all the interesting sights. Room was huge with views over the town and the castle. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast was spot on. Lots of great choices. Staff 1st class. Parking available next door at a charge but so convenient! 100% recommendation
Nice new hotel in the area. Good location for walking to all around area. Firimina hotel front receptionist was super friendly and very helpful.
A modern hotel in an historic town A great location for seeing the sights of Matera without staying in a cave house. Modern hotel, good breakfast, convenient parking.
The location of the facility is good, but the service and breakfast are a mess.
The room is very large, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast is fresh and rich, the hotel service staff is polite and thoughtful, it is very close to important attractions, and the location is excellent
The hotel was lovely and the staff couldn't be more helpful . Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this facility.

Perfect hotel for a short stay, nice and helpful staff especially the night desk manager.
Beautiful hotel. Room is spacious and the cleanest amongst the 4 hotels of similar level we stayed during this trip. Dinner at the hotel was excellent, the beef entree looked unimpressive but surprisingly it was well seasoned and cooked to perfection served piping hot. Breakfast could be better with more varieties. The only issue is if you want to exchange your towel the answer is a rude “no” which...
Definitely worth the visit. Great property with fabulous amenities. Incredible gym. Beautiful large oool. Comfy bed. Just abit noisy cause of thin walls but not that bad. Great value.
Gym opening at 7am would be great. Otherwise great hotel. Good breakfast and convenient to Matera Alberobello an Bari
The only probleme is the AC, he make some noise and the room was not enough cold.
New and well equipped hotel, with spa, breakfast and lot of facility Good parking But all are extra-charge Room is nice, cozy and clean but so hot. Couldn’t control the heath from room and iI was awaken in the middle of night because of to much heat I book the hotel especial for spa but Suprise .., is with extra charge. The spa is good, the room is clean, and the service is average
The room is large and unique👍 but there is no window, it feels stuffy and a bit musty. The sauna ended at 8 o'clock.
Very cost-effective, master design work, highly recommended
Located in the old town of Matera, I got lost when navigating, but after finding it, I found that the location is very good and close to various attractions. I strongly recommend trying the hotel's dinner, which is worth recommending. You must wear a swimsuit for the SPA, but I didn't bring it with me so I didn't experience it, which was a pity.
Parking is not very convenient, you have to park outside the city. We arrived very late. The hotel upgraded us to a suite. The front desk was very British. The room was large and the decoration was relatively new. The spa pool and sauna were free for 1 hour. Breakfast can be ordered and drinks are provided. Overall, it was in line with expectations.
Even though we encountered issues with AC, hotel staff was very accommodating to provide us with suitable accommodations. Great customer service

The property is not properly finished. Although the staff were very helpful & bedrooms were good, it wasn't within walking distance of any restaurants as the surrounding area is undeveloped. However, there were buses into the centre about 7 or 8 minutes walk.
Chose this hotel because it is close to the bus stop where we took a bus out of Matera. Hence we had to walk about 20 minutes to reach Matera square. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. We had all meals there and managed to cover all viewpoints planned.
Staff were very friendly and was easy to access most of the places by foot.
Overall, the stay went well, although the mattress wasn't the best and, more importantly, there were no extra pillows. This resulted in back pain and a stiff neck.
The drop down menu did not offer our dates. We stayed here in October 2019 - but I lost me sign on/password so only writing review now. We really enjoyed this hotel - very clean and everyone on staff friendly. The lady at the desk helped with taxi's. We found the breakfast buffet ample and tasty. We had dinner one evening in the hotel dining room and were very pleased. We went to see the caves...
A good spot from which to explore historic Matera This was a very modern hotel about 20 min walk from the old historic center. It was close to the Villa Longo train station which made it easier to arrive! Lovely breakfast in the morning!

The hotel was exceptionally comfortable, clean, and most importantly, very spacious. We stayed on the second floor, with a courtyard in front and a balcony in the back. It was also incredibly convenient for Matera's Old Town. The front desk manager, INNO, was especially kind and helpful, giving us a very thorough and detailed explanation of how to explore Matera and the most convenient parking spots...
Breakfast ok. Room was clean and comfortable. TV had no English speaking stations. Google maps showed hotel 0.4 miles away from actual location. Staff had difficulty telling me where property actually was, when phoned in with problem. Staff helpful in scheduling City tour, but when could not locate tour guide, had difficulty helping to make connection.
Great hotel - lovely contemporary room - helpful friendly staff - fantastic continental breakfast selection. One slight negative is the location with it being a c20 minute taxi ride into the centre - Sassi.
Great hotel with the beautiful breakfast near city centre. Just keep in mind that you will not be able to walk to the centre, so you will need a car.
Good hotel on the outskirts of Matera Hotel Cave del Sole was a nice hotel that was exactly what we needed for two nights exploring Matera. There’s parking for around 10 cars in a courtyard in front of the hotel (plus an underground garage which looked tight to park in). This opens on to a fairly busy road - take care exiting. You really do need a car as it’s 10 mins drive to Matera. We went to a...
The establishment was clean and breakfast adequate. The room was soulless, clean but No character. Entrance and exit to hotel very precarious, be aware .location to matera not great as too far to walk, which was disappointing especially when visiting restaurants. Would need to taxi both ways .

I very much enjoyed my stay at this lovely hotel, right in the centre of Matera. The staff was very friendly.

Clean rooms nice staff and placed at the right spot..walking distance from all the rocks and all

We absolutely loved our stay. Very attentive before our arrival, arranging our parking and shuttle to the hotel. Once at the hotel the staff was so kind and friendly and offered recommendations. The room itself was better than expected and the buffet breakfast had a great selection. Best of all, it was quiet at night allowing us to actually get a good nights sleep.
Beautiful boutique hotel in Matera Beautiful property. Rooms with an extraordinary view. Shower is amazing and the bed very comfortable. The private spa is super cool. Delicious breakfast. We had an amazing stay and hope to be back one day. Thanks to Ivana, Samir and Mario for a wonderful experience at Cenobio hotel.
Amazing hotel experience in Maters Amazing hotel room built into a limestone cave. Large and luxurious. Right in the heart of the historic area. The service was excellent.
Matera is breathtaking! Cenobio Hotel is elegance at it’s finest. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and accommodating. Recommend this place 100%!
The actual hotel/room didn't quite live up to the photos or descriptions; it definitely wasn't the cave-style depicted but rather quite modern. Located on a hill, the hotel is impossible to find using GPS. We had to call the front desk, and it took a long time for them to understand and send someone to collect us. Be prepared for many stairs. If you plan to stay here, I'd strongly advise against bringing...

The house is amazing! The location is perfect, away from the main tourist path. The owners told the story of the house, it was very interesting. The only thing that disappointed was the breakfast, or rather the lack of it. 2 store-bought croissants and milk with muesli. Amazing room and located right within sassi!! The hot springs is must also!
Very good, convenient transportation, large room and good facilities
The place was perfect: central, close to nice restaurants and bars, well decorated, nice staff, great SPA (worth the 25 EUR fee to access it!) and what a great breakfast buffet! Do choose the suites, they really are worth the extra price. They were all booked for our second night and so we had to move to a standard room and it wasn’t as great.
Awesome place, right in the heart of the old town, very nice room and great to wake up having a beautiful view of the town in the morning. Very quite place, clean, helpful staff and fantastic the SPA, it’s definitely worth it a visit. I will be back there and I strongly suggest it.

Matera is beautiful & I loved my time there but the room allocated was not. It was very spacious but had no downstairs windows, only the tiny mezzanine floor above did. The shower cabinet was held together with a...
Stayed in this fascinating hotel in Matera for 3 nights. Our room was in one of the old cisterns carved out of the limestone. While not luxurious, the unique aspect of being in a cave more than made up for any lack of facilities. Matera itself was astonishing - truly exceptional place to visit. Great local restaurants, too, all full of character.
It was quite an experience staying in a cave hotel! It's not easy to retrofit facilities in a cave so don't expect luxurious bathrooms or decor. The rooms are scattered somewhat and there are lots of steps, like much of Matera so don't stay here if you have mobility issues. Having said that the rooms were adequate for our needs and the breakfast was nice if a bit busy at peak times. Overall we really...

Amazing location, service, friendly staff and unique experience. We would definitely visit again. By coincidence we stayed during the Madonna dela Bruna celebration which made our stay even more exceptional! The rooms were clean, large unique with luxurious attendance.
This hotel far exceeded expectations. Our suite was 304; it was large, beautiful, with a balcony overlooking the caves/ravine and a huge soaking tub. The hotel is superb! The room are nice nice and the overall experience is that you feel like at home. The staff is really helful and keen to provide any required assistance during the staying. The breakfast is really nice! Definitely a place to come back!
The property is amazing and some of the staff are first class professionals, keen to look after you. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience when a personal possession went missing from a bag in my room. So far the hotel has failed to retrieve my item or work out who had access to the room to take it.

Room was fascinating. Location was great. We have mobility issues so they arranged a tour of Matera for us in an Apecar (Tuktuk) The service was either great (picking us up at the garage) to poor (not answering the phone at check-out time, telling me after I carried my own luggage 500 feet down 20 rough stone steps that there was another desk to call, not telling us we'd have to climb 50 of stone steps...
Stayed just two days here, the views are amazing!! Matera is beautiful. The A/C was poor at best, the shower very small. Could not get a table at the restaurant, unfortunately. Breakfast was great.
This is a beautiful hotel! Service was excellent. We dined both evenings in the hotel restaurant, which has a terrace with absolutely stunning views. The dinner both nights was divine…Michelin star quality. The service at the restaurant was amazing as well…we watched the talented maitre d’ handle some difficult customer situations with grace and aplomb, very impressive. A must-visit if you are in Matera

Right in the heart of the historical city of Matera you will find Cavoso Hotel. We stayed in one of the cave rooms which was much more airy and larger than I expected. We made the wrong decision how to get to the property as the instructions about “no steps” is confusing in the English translation.
