Fantastic location with a short walk into the Sassi. Fab suite with 2 great views of the city and very quiet. Great spa facility and wonderful massage. Very comfy bed too!
Very spacious..... Rooms and intetior where excellent...... Breakfast was one of the best..... I loved it.
Near perfect stay with fast service , professional and helpful staff. Great spa, beautiful rooms design, space and furniture. Also the location was great, highly advised
We were for three weeks on the road in Italy and on our way back ended up in this hotel in beautiful Matera for 1 night? WHAT A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. If on top you have the chance to be welcomed by Maria Pietra (I hope I spell her name correctly), you are in for a top experience: professional, efficient, complete explanation about parking, breakfast, surroundings, etc. And what a breakfast, in these...

Excellent hotel. Stylish interiors in a renovated old building. Every detail high quality. Central location. Plentiful breakfast. Staff always friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.
Lovely hotel, great service and delicious breakfast. Beautiful room. The location is formidable too. A great stay well worth it!

Modern hotel. But without **** treatment. The staff had the cordiality and friendliness of the barracks from ex communist states. We really didn't feel welcome... No smile or friendly word at breakfast. We were here in autumn so the outdoor pool was closed. We had to pay 30 euros for the indoor pool and wellness (90 min), which we didn't. The first time we experienced this. NOT RECOMMENDED if you want...
We took 17 of our customers on a Southern Italy trip. We stayed in four hotels through out our trip, this was our least favorite. Here are dome of the reasons why: -Place looked a little disheveled. We believe the building and grounds were under construction and the hotel did the best they could to hide it. -The bar tender our first night had a limited menu on the drinks he could create. He told...
Usual hotel for simple stay. Nice pool, but not very friendly personell. No signs about pools and no one to explain the rules. Good brakfast.
Facilities were great, but a bit of a palaver to access the garden. Once there, fabulous. Swimming you have to pay towels and a swimming cap! On arrival the bar area was commandered by a baptism party and ended with a loud disco!! Breakfast choice was abundant, but the coffees ended up being lukewarm by the time you got to your table. The rooms were really well equipped
5 star for the service of bar and swimming pool. The personal specifically in the bar Resturant was super kind and gentle. Great for short vacation close to sassi of Matera .
Good modern hotel with very good food and terrific breakfast.Rooms modern and clean, bed slightly on small size.Only issue is having the bar in the restaurant with very few informal sitting areas to have a drink and chat. Not possible to walk into centre.

This is difinately the place to stay in Matera. Apart from being a great cozy, fine hotel you get to be in historical place with extra oridinery staff and owner.
We stayed for a 24h pit stop in Matera, we are glad we stayed at Corte San Pietro as Giuseppe and Cosimo made our 24h as perfect as possible. They did managed to book la Lopa restaurant who was great. Finding a table outside during ferragosto in Italy is almost impossible. They are also very knowledgable on the best tour to do and we were able to see most of Matera without feeling too exhausted. The...
Excellent hotel right in the middle of Matera. Elegant, spacious rooms, very helpful and nice staff, great breakfast. The only small thing I'd change is put a blinder in the window in the room, since it was already broad daylight at 6am.
One of my favourite hotels of the holiday. Beautifully designed rooms, friendly and welcoming staff and just the right amount of candles to really set the mood 👌🏼
Very charming hotel with amazing people.. Right in the center of Master which a wonderful place to visit. Fully Recommended.
My wife and 3 adult children recently visited Matera and stayed at Corte San Pietro. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way possible - rooms, location, staff (the owners are on site and very attentive and the staff - Anne, Rebecca and GianFranco - were very helpful). Reservations were made in advance at excellent restaurants and a private tour of Matera with an excellent guide Luigi Mazzioccoli...

Stayed 2 nights ands wish we could have stayed for longer! The hotel is really nice, in a perfect location, the staff are lovely and will do anything to help. Special thanks to Francesco, Miastrela, Miguel and Catrina for making our stay extra special. The view from our terrace was unbelievable! Only dropping 1 star because the room wasn’t a cave room and was a little dated, but otherwise it was great...
We stayed at Sant Angelo in September and what a place it is! Firstly, the hotel is fantastic, the service, the room, the view was fabulous (we had a room with balcony and a view of the city) we just couldn't fault it. The area where you have breakfast is up a couple of flights of stairs in a cave, done beautifully with the option to sit out and enjoy the spectacular view. Matera itself is breathtaking...
A night in this cave hotel in the World Heritage-listed city of Matera is a bucket-list experience. It’s right in the heart of the historic centre, where ancient churches and modern restaurants are all carved out of the soft tufa. Ask for a room with a view of the church and enjoy the local fare in the hotel’s cave restaurant. The breakfast buffet is a great experience too.
Wow, everything about this resort was absolutely fantastic!! The rooms are gorgeous, and very authentic caves. You can feel the history with every step you take! Reggiacorte restaurant is incredible, we had the best pasta I had so far in Italy! The staff was incredible, especially Malik! Breakfast is NOT TO BE MISSED!! With a delicious variety of local options and the BEST almond milk cappuccino...
Amazing place! Central to everything and beautiful views. The room we had woke us up to beautiful filtered light. And the breakfast was great too. Make sure you ask for a cappuccino from Michela. It was the best Cappuccino we have had in Italy so far.
Fantastic hotel in heart of old town Matera. They arrange car parking and shuttle bus (for a fee) which is convenient. The room was very spacious, quiet and well maintained. Breakfast is buffet only, and you get charged extra for cooked options, which was a shame and thought all should be included in price. Overall, highly recommended and visiting Matera is a must (would recommend two nights)

Located near the historic center of the city of Matera, the hotel has a small reception, adjacent to a TV room and a flight of stairs from which you can access the rooms. The latter are only accessible via stairs (there are no elevators) and are very tidy and clean. An elegant parquet covers the floor, on which a bed with a very comfortable mattress is placed. Hotel excellent location 5 minutes walk from the main square from where you can then continue to visit the stones. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. Mediocre room, bed a bit uncomfortable and bathroom too small but to spend a night adequate value for money. Tricky to find the first time (in the Sassi down the stairs from the piano), but just a quick five minute walk from parking. Fantastic views. Rooms are scattered, but a small elevator is helpful. Romantic hotel in the heart of breathtaking sassi with amazing spa. Very kind staff and good value for money.
Lovely facilities, very authentic, well and traditionally appointed. Good selection of local food for breakfast. Ideally situated in the old town. Very friendly staff. Excellent facilities for spa etc.
Great hotel, room 'cavelike' with most facilities. Breakfast amazing......Thermal baths..... interesting, but worth €20? Not sure, felt a little steep to be honest. Rooms miss a kettle/drink making facilities.....
I think it is the best place to stay in Matera. The staff are kind and helpful, the place is clean and the location is central. The thermal baths are stunning.Wonderful authentic place to stay in Matera.
Pretty good hotel. Nice and luxurious breakfast. Very special rooms some with real cave in it. The only negative is the Spa/Sauna. It’s not very well maintained, the Hamam ceiling is made of wood and filthy, the sauna tiny. Pool is ok. But 20€/person for 2h in this mediocre spa is overpriced.

What an amazing place! Fantastic that the history of the area including the building has been so beautifully preserved. Congratulations to those responsible. A must stay on your travels to Matera!
Great place to experience the magic of Matera. Very nice breakfast in a large and atmospheric cave room. The cave rooms are cosy in early spring and definitely an experience. We opted in for the guided tour of Sassi which ended up being a highlight of our trip (many thanks to Alessio L).
This has been my most memorable hotel stay ever! I’ve stayed in a cave hotel on Santorini, Greece and this was by far much nicer and more authentic. It had all the modern conveniences but hidden away within the rustic, stone environment. The breakfast was also the best I’ve ever experienced. Everything was magical and beyond perfect! Loved every moment of my time there and wish it’d last longer! Highest...
Amazing hotel. Location was great. Rooms kept authentic whilst having modern luxury. Would definitely return.
This is a truly magical place that provides a very authentic experience of spending a night (or a few) in Matera. We stayed over for one night during the off season (in February) in the room with a bathtub and it was very relaxing to use it after a full day of traveling and exploring the town. Romantic stay in the heart of Matera. We loved the atmosphere of the room and the breakfast was incredible so many fresh dishes. The service is great and people are very welcoming and kind. The room is very spacious and clean
We really enjoyed our stay in our large cave/room in Sasso Caveoso. The service was consistently excellent and breakfasts were truly superlative. Very good choice in Matera - great location, beautiful surroundings, outstanding view from the terrace, possibility to park a car at the courtyard and very professional & kind staff.
The hotel is not only a magnificent building of the 16th century, but also located at a strategic point in the city. It's in the highest part. It is fantastic to have an aperitif while contemplating from the terrace a 360° panorama of the stones of Matera, a strategic location for those who have a few days to visit. More beautiful than I thought. Great location, next to the Duomo. The view from the terrace is amazing; you can also have an aperitif. Unforgettable experience. Very quiet and immaculate room. Friendly staff. Like a palace with its gigantic halls. It feels like you live in a castle.

Beautiful masseria, nearby Matera. The drawback of the central location is that the place feels more touristy rather than authentic, when compared to other masseria's. The room was good, however it couldn't get chill inside, even with the AC on Power the whole night. The breakfast was ok, choices were limited, fruit juice was not freshly made.
Just magic. The experience at Masseria Fontana di Vite is unique. I was pampered the whole weekend in one of the most romantic and authentic place I have ever been in my life. Food is so good and the service perfect. Highly suggested.
What a beautiful place! Our first encounter was with Francesco who is warm and welcoming. He showed us to our room and told us about the history of the hotel. We had two fantastic dinners at the hotel. The chef is amazing!! I read about the food before we got here and boy, it didn't disappoint! Our favorite person was Erasmo! Like their young talented chef, if they can keep Erasmo! Full of knowledge...
A fantastic little spot. Really excellent service from the family (our flight was 3 hours late and they were there at 1:30am) to welcome us to our large, well air conditioned (was 36 degrees) room. Nice breakfast, full of local produce. Definitely need a car if you want to explore the area
Wide view of the endless fields next to Matera. This old farm has been converted in an idealistic hotel that is just starting. Loved the big rooms with old furniture together with more modern accents. The pool is very good, but the big score of this hotel is an even better breakfast. Most products come from the farm it self! Hope to see them soon, definitely coming back!
Charming Masseria in the middle of the countryside. Well-appointed and equipped rooms. Great staff, attentive and courteous. Quality dishes are served in the restaurant, and the service is efficient. Breakfast misses a hot option though. The owners add a nice presence. The only downside concerns the price which seems a bit over what you would expect for this standing. Would definitely still recommend

Really a beautiful place with a very cordial hospitality. Thanks a lot. Can't wait to return.
A great way to experience the sassi of Matera. Was it worth €250 a night in August? No, not really, but still a fun and unique hotel to stay at.
