Zahir Country House Hotel

Beautiful complex. Rooms in need of renovation and a bit dirty. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very, very limited. Unfortunately, the place was swarming with mosquitoes. A real plague. Neither mosquito spray nor incense helped. We left the next day because we were already so bitten after one evening. The hotel was unwilling to accommodate us, and we had to pay the full price. They didn't even give us breakfast. They said that's just how it is here sometimes. In my opinion, more measures need to be taken. Nets or something similar.

We spent a few days at the Zahir, and such was our disappointment upon our arrival. The photos on the booking site are very flattering compared to reality. Indeed, the place, the rooms, the infrastructure need a good renovation. The materials, the construction are not of quality and need a renovation, whether it is the bathroom, the toilets ... all this is hidden by a complicated, heavy, dusty decoration, very present and not necessarily attractive. (the plastic lawn on the terraces is amazing!) We are far from the Baroque charm of the neighboring Noto The breakfast is very weak, tasteless, without proposals. It is a pity, because we wanted to enjoy this place in the middle of the olive trees and a short distance from the beaches. The service is quite confusing The positive point is the swimming pool.

mine is not meant to be a criticism in itself but when you manage a wonderful place you have to be up to it... the structure is beautiful and well kept from the pool to the rooms and when you arrive and a donkey greets you with its braying you think... I chose well but alas people are not always up to the level of other living beings and so early in the morning you come across a waitress who doesn't even greet you (we are in Sicily the land of hospitality and courtesy) who attacks you when you try to set up the table yourself after being ignored and who, faced with an empty carafe of orange juice (not squeezed orange juice that we have received elsewhere!) and a kind request if she could still have some at 9.30 with breakfast from 8 to 10, answers you as if you were her sister "finished"!! And when you ask her how it is possible she verbally attacks you and goes back to the kitchen muttering out loud then you think the braying of the donkey compared to your voice Giuditta (that's apparently her name) is a melodious sound! But then you wonder who put you in charge of breakfast reception? And I won't add anything else about this person... but let's get to breakfast... on the website you read sweet and savory breakfast with a wide selection of local cold cuts and cheeses but abandon all hope you who enter... on the first day we found 2 slices of ham, one (1!) slice of cheese and listen, listen, 10 km from Pachino some bruschetta with half and I repeat half a cherry tomato... embarrassing! The second day we were luckier, the bruschetta had disappeared but there were 2 and I repeat 2 ricottas! For sweet croissants, brioche with tuppo, yogurt and cereals and a half-baked donut turned over to hide the fact that it was the same as the day before and the day after! They came from 2 days in Plemmirio where in an equally beautiful structure and at half the cost they welcomed us with savory brioche, vegetable cake, arancini, 4 types of homemade sweet cakes and different from one day to the next and ripe fruit (not from discount stores)! Here instead we had the ardor to ask for eggs and we attach photos without further comments ... you who read think about it! Not to mention that they were thrown on the table by the aforementioned annoyed waitress! In short if you are looking for a beautiful location and that's it come here ... if you want to taste Sicily with its flavors and its hospitality go elsewhere! Thanks to the receptionist who welcomed us on arrival and said goodbye on departure with a smile but a pinch of embarrassment because in response to my request to speak to the owner she did not show up nor did she call me on the phone to understand what we did not like about the stay!

The whole hotel is in a sad state. People working there are not nice a woman in the kitchen was screaming in the morning. Breakfast was minimal with questionable hygiene. The spa looks like some junk yard. The only good thing with the hotel is the pool that is nice and big.

Terrible place, dirty, overpriced. Owner is arrogant, argumentative and looking for a fight (that's the Roma guy from Varna). Loud, woke up all guests in the middle of the night. Walks like he owns the village. Avoid if you value your peace and comfort.
