whenever in the city I always stay on this hotel for specific reasons and I make myself clear...
the price is very normal
there is free parking area around the hotel garden
the location is only 15 min walk from historical center and the hotel is situated in a very green area among big high trees which make it quiet and cool
in case someone wants to leave out of the city is very easy
the personnel and specially LEONIDAS (receptionist) were very kind and helpful
the furniture at the lobby and the little garden in front of the entrance
the breakfast was fine
rooms might need to be refurbished but still do the job well
nice Italian music at the lobby
nice view from the balcony

This hotel is an immersive experience and should be celebrated that way. Imagine travelling back to the 1970s to relive a taste of those years before we all realised we had trashed our planet and internal organs. A full renovation of this place would be a significant financial risk given its location, but to celebrate what they have currently could be genius. Abba nights, fondue parties, Black Forest gateau, Mateus Rose, Classic 70s film showings or themed nights - Saturday Night Fever, One flew over the cuckoo's nest, Jaws, etc. Guests could be encouraged to wear flared trousers, platform shoes, tie-dye t-shirts, etc. A couple of chopper bikes & Space Hoppers available in the car park (at user's risk!). Staff dressed as Farah Fawcett, Jason King etc. It could snowball (or Babycham) into the next big thing - that all started here!
Other than that, the staff are the best, the bed was comfortable, it is well signposted, it has parking, aircon and the coffee is decent too.

Rooms are very uncomfortable and pretty bad maintained. Food is a disaster - dinner was canned food, they count number of pieces they give you on the plate. Terrible experience.

Horrible, inedible food. Poor-quality rooms. Not recommended. The bathroom had a toilet that opened onto the shower. Back to the food, they couldn't even make fries. The bathroom shower was broken. The television is at least from the 1970s. Highly not recommended.

Unpleasant experience! Fortunately, I only stayed two nights. I won't be returning. Regular maintenance and renovations are needed, especially to the bathrooms in the rooms. In fact, the bathroom in my room was very dated, especially the shower. While I was showering, the showerhead (or shower head) cut me twice on the palm of my hand because it was old and a sharp piece of plastic was sticking out. I notified the front desk and it was replaced. Certainly, if they had checked the bathrooms, this wouldn't have happened. Also, very little water came out of the shower. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was good, but they didn't warn me that the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays. Nor was that written anywhere. Another flaw! The breakfast is decent, but the dining room is really old, like it's from the 1970s!!! The hotel is out of the way. There's nothing within walking distance.

We stayed with family. The bathroom was small and windowless, with a broken toilet seat. We avoided the shower due to its lack of cleanliness. The carpet was dusty, and the bed mattress needed replacing. The hotel is 30 years old. The breakfast was decent, but otherwise, we'd avoid it.

Ilgo Hotel is a hold out of the 70s!
It is very clean and has a great air conditioning system in the room. The view from the rooftop and our little balcony in the room was beautiful! The mattresses are very camp-like and not easy to sleep on.
It is a little too far from the city center to walk for shopping, site seeing, or restaurants, so be prepared to take a taxi.

The scenery was magical, great view. Waking up among singing birds is awesome. The food was delicious, it was very clean and the room service was undetectable, but regular. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional

This Hotel is literally hidden away under a cliff on the main road into Perugia old town. Lots of signs so you can find it easily On arrival there are plenty of spaces to park and only a 2mtr walk to the door. The reception staff are fantastic and make you feel welcome soon as you step through the door. We checked in with Andre who was charming, spoke excellent English and was more than helpful. Our room was at the front and the views were amazing. We don't normally eat in our Hotel but decided as we were tired we would. What can I say but FANTASTIC FOOD AND SERVICE. We decided that we would eat in every night. For those who are gluten intolerant or coeliac the menu caters for you. A shuttle bus is available to take you up into the old town x3 in the morning and it's literally a 20min walk back, down hill. I can't praise the Ilgo enough. It's a must for us on our next Perugian stay.

We have as a group used this Hotel for the Umbria Jazz Festival since 2009, due to events Covid etc, we had not returned for some years. Our visit from the 7th July to the 16th was not a disappointment, the staff remained the same, friendly, extremely helpful in particular Peao, the Matre D. The menu is not extensive but the food supplied is excellent, we used the restaurant more on this occasion than ever before , due to the heatwave at the time, and we were never disappointed. The wine list is first class and not expensive. Fabrizio the Manager helped organize an excellent local wine tasting , well worth discussing at the Hotel with him or his deputies. I am sorry I did not record all the names of staff, in particular the Chef, but we could not fault any of them. The Hotel itself is very clean and practical, bathrooms need a bit of a renovation. However it does not detract from the overall stay. It is a extremely good value and hopefully we shall return for next years festival.
