This family owned resort sure does give an intimate feel. The history behind this hotel goes way back. We went towards the end of the ski season. So it was very quiet at the hotel. High class, amazing suites, food, staff, CLEAN rooms/common areas (very clean pool waters) and great location with mountain views. Well mannered friendly staff catering to our needs. They made sure to make us feel comfortable. The best ski locker room and direct shuttle to the ski slopes. Caters to wellness seriously. The elder owner of the hotel greeted us at dinner asking how our stay was which felt special. This resort is great for adults looking to getaway and have a stress free vacation. I can’t wait to go back.

Pros:
Loved the view of the mountains. Loved the food and the staff at the restaurants. Both food and staff at restaurants are second to none. Loved the interior design, walking around the hotel every room and space is absolutely perfect and unique.
Cons:
The Therme is naked, which is enforced by staff. We likely wouldn't have come if we knew this. It wasn't even people being modest with a towel around them, literally everyone walking around fully naked. Big culture shock and made it that we then did not use the areas as it was too much for us.
The only area we could use was the 2 swimming pools. The infinity was amazing, however it does not have direct access to indoor. So if like us you go in winter you have to jump out of a beautiful 30 degree water, soaking wet in minus 5.5 degrees to get inside again. The spa next to the infinity was drained and not on while we were there. The inside pool temperature was having issues with the temperature.
You do not have control over your room temperature. It was far too hot for us, which made us both have bad sleeps.
The toiletries were not good. I have never been to a hotel where they only provide you a mix of shampoo and conditioner - the one men use. As a female with long hair, I need a good conditioner. I was shocked at a place that costs this much I need to bring my own. I stay at hotels across the world regularly and have never had this issue before.
When we first checked in they offered us a sparkling wine, which we said yes to. They brought it out with a warm towel. A welcome drink is VERY normal for a resort of this level. To our shock when we checked out we were charged for the welcome drink!! I don't even know if this is legal in Italy? It definitely wouldn't be in my home. If you're going to charge for something the person needs to be aware of the price before consuming. It was a slap in the face for the price we already paid for the room and to be offered the drink on check in and without being told we would pay if we said yes, this is unacceptable and made us leave with a bad taste in our mouth.

We stayed at the Hotel Fanes for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The room was very spacious, stylishly furnished and always perfectly clean, just like the whole hotel. The food was great, whether at breakfast or in the evening. The vegetarian options in the evening were always a dream. The sauna area is very spacious, and above all there are enough relaxation areas and loungers. An absolute highlight is the 360 degree sauna with a view of the Dolomites and the sky pool!

Absolutely was amazed by service, hotel, staff and food. We had breakfast, dinner and for lunch snacks included into our hotel price. Have stayed in many hotels and have been in heaven here! It’s like a beautiful fairytale. My kids who are 18, 15 and 11 loved it here.

Friendly staff. Good food. Beautiful location. Amazing sky pool BUT adults only. If you are travelling with a baby you have to use the pool situated on the ground floor. This pool needs a renovation. In the indoor pool area was a strong smell of chlorine. Our room was very dark.

Beautiful hotel, very spacious! They have an unforgettable sauna and relaxation room! The restaurant is amazing everything is delicious! The bartenders are very friendly and easy going. Marco our bartender was super friendly and extremely handsome! Thanks for the great stay Hotel Fanes!❤️

Expensive, but gorgeous!!! Take a room-Chalet with a terrace and panoramic mountain views and a romantic stay is guaranteed. Fine dining, skiing, good infrastructure in San Cassiano (shopping, restaurants)
