Hotel Rocce Sarde

I don't usually write reviews for accommodations, especially pointing out areas for improvement, as I prefer to use this tool to encourage business at places I like and where I've been treated well and received proper service. However, this time is different.

The hotel is located in a quiet area, just a few minutes' drive from San Pantaleo, and it looks very nice from the outside. Upon checking in, we realized there are no elevators - my mistake for not noticing before booking. We reached our room (4th floor), left our luggage, and asked to have the beds separated (no problem). When trying out the bed, we found that the beds are old, hard, and uncomfortable, so we asked the reception if it would be possible to change rooms because the beds were terrible and we were on the 4th floor. They told us the hotel was fully booked and it wouldn't be possible to change rooms - this information was not correct: the hotel had availability on all booking platforms, including their own website. Then they told us they would bring a foam topper for the beds to solve the problem. The foam never arrived; instead, they brought a blanket to put underneath to make it "less hard." I asked at reception, and they said the blanket was what they intended to provide. Well, at this point, I'm killing mosquitoes in the room and trying to figure out how they're getting in since we haven't even opened the window. I'm not bothering to notify reception because given the bed issue, I can't imagine how they'd handle the mosquito problem.

From a 4-star hotel, one expects a certain level of service and quality customer care, but I don't see this hotel meeting even half of what is expected.

In summary, I do not recommend this hotel at all - the beds are terrible, and the reception staff's willingness to help is nonexistent. This is a bittersweet taste. I don't recommend the stay.

The hotel has 4 stars ( I believe they had The category long time ago...because now days should be a 2-3 stars)
The receptionists ( Laura and Chiara) are rude and no professional at all: we asked them to change the room because our room was on a 4th floor without elevator and the beeds were old and too hard...the reply was...the hotel is fully book ( false, the hotel was selling in every online travel agency....and even at their own website), instead thy told us they will send someone to fix it. Our surprise was major when they sent someone to add one more blanked to the bed, when we asked if they were going to do something else the reply was: sorry this is what we can do.
The rooms are old, poorly equipped and needs reconstruction ( I leave you some pictures)
The beds are hard and the mattress is just a torture from the 80s.

The only positive thing about the hotel is Alessandro, the waiter from the bar at the swimming pool, this guy is a 10/10

Currently staying at this hotel. The first thing to note is that there is no lift, despite the hotel having four floors. I have a room with sea view. There is no hotel information in the room, no tea or coffee making facilities and no, normally, free water. Flimsy plastic cups crack when their wrappers are opened. The restaurant serves good but expensive food. My room had two pillows when I checked in. It took two attempts to finally obtain two more pillows. I fail to see how this facility gets a 4* rating. If you like isolation and climbing stairs, you will like this place.
