We have not been lucky with our room, spacious but ... with no air conditioning...
Yet, the place is very nice, very well organised, excellent food, great service. So, if you ever need plan to visit and stay, make sure you ask for a room properly equipped.

Best hotel I have ever been too
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The food is amazing and its never ending if that’s what you like. The service is first class and the staff are wonderful: We are from Australia and the only “English” speaking visitors , however, this was not a problem for us as the staff all spoke English. The yoga and pilates is great and the saunas and pools are amazing. We also took advantage of the shuttles to walking areas and the free bus pass that is provided. The landscape and architecture is stunning. I hope to come back one day.

I can only express my warmest compliments for the affectionate welcome given to me and my partner. What characterizes this hotel is mainly the attention to the guest through professionalism and friendliness. You find yourself immersed in an atmosphere of great care and luxury but at the same time you feel like family. We stayed in a room with all the comforts and very clean. Breakfast offered excellent quality foods with niche foods. The excellent restaurant. The saline pool with warm water that allows you to observe the landscape as well as the moon rising above our heads is a gem. On my partner's birthday we were very surprised to receive a present with a bottle and exquisite chocolates. The staff as well as the Mair family showed great courtesy throughout the day that they shared this day. Thanks to all the very professional and friendly staff... Among these a special mention to Mr. Peter. Thank you so much

As a family of four with children aged 10 and 14, we had a pleasant stay at Hohenwart. The food was great, and the breakfast buffet was extensive with a cook-to-order station. The hotel has two wellness areas, one for adults and one for children, and the view over Meran is stunning. However, we found the kids' pricing a bit confusing. Even though the children stayed in a separate room together, both kids were charged the price of a "single stay in a double room", which was €50 more than the adults. Although the 10-year-old received a 60% discount on this elevated price, we still don't understand why the 14-year-old had to pay a "single-stay in double room" price. Comment of the Hotel: "That is how we do things here, this is normal, and we do it like this since 30 years" Not sure but maybe 30 years ago the kids would have slept on the foldaway sofa instead of their own room.

Situation, good breakfast and lunch. Great service!Enjoyed the suprise biscuits in room, the extra comfy beds, actually everything. The gym, pool ect ect ect.

The hotel is located in a stunning place, surrounded by vineyards and hills with excellent views over the valley and the city of Merano. The hotel was built in several stages, which is noticeable - there is no single style, and all the areas and rooms are different. There are modern parts, but they are still very aged. The hall and restaurant are decorated with gruesome dead animal corpses. The restaurant has good food and friendly staff. The worst thing about this hotel is the reception. At the booking stage, reception could not make a reservation without errors; they only sent a valid booking on the fifth attempt. On arrival - very cold greeting and minimal information. During the stay, all requests were lost at reception. We had to wait two days for a different pillow. But the worst that happened here was that the staff did not bring the cake I ordered and paid for in advance (as a surprise for my loved one) during the birthday dinner. I have never seen such oversight in a hotel before. No one even apologised... It was the worst experience of the year. This hotel and service are not worth your money...
