Walder in Scena

My husband and I stayed for a week at this splendid property, just steps from the center of Scena. It's a typical mountain hotel, an excellent three-star in our opinion. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and always clean. The breakfast is simple but delicious, with both sweet and savory options. The location is excellent for exploring the area and accessing various excursions via the nearby cable cars. Kudos to all the staff, especially Franz and his wife, who were always kind, helpful, and incredibly welcoming. We'll never forget the splendid view of Merano and the nearby peaks from the room. To top it all off, there's a small spa with an always-clean indoor pool and a beautiful outdoor pool with a view.

A family-run hotel where you immediately feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The view is stunning. The indoor pool is warm and suitable for swimming.

We had a beautiful, clean, and spacious room with a balcony. The ample storage space in the room was fantastic, the balcony conversion was fantastic, and the bathroom was new. Breakfast was excellent, and we had a wonderful time relaxing by the pool with an Aperol. Many thanks to Franz and his family! He was always there for us and offered valuable tips. The motorcycles were safely parked in the garage. We would love to come back. Best, Anja and Timo

Everything was great. Very friendly hosts and special praise for the chambermaid. I've rarely experienced such great cleaning staff. A very nice view from the balcony.

We had a great time at the Walder Hotel. We were a big group of people and the Walder family received us with great hospitality and made sure we had a pleasant experience.
The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, impeccably cleaned, and well located.
The rooms are spacious, with plenty storage space, and they all have a view to the Scena valley and Merano.
Breakfast was included and it was very complete, diverse, and delicious.
We could easily do several excursions from the hotel, such as walking to the Scena Castle and Mausoleum, hiking, biking, and exploring the beautiful vineyards and apple orchards.
Franz and his family were extremely helpful with information about the region and things to do.
Highly recommend staying at Hotel Walder.

Really nice place, we had a great time, excellent location to reach places to visit, a bus stop nearby and also some services such as supermarkets etc. Hotel run by the Walder family who are very helpful and courteous like all the hotel workers. The location offers a wonderful view. In the facility there is a sauna and indoor and outdoor pool. Abundant breakfast between sweet and savory. Overall the structure is a little dated but characteristic and tidy. Impeccable cleanliness, clean room and above all the new and perfectly clean bathroom, very spacious rooms with balcony.

My mum and I were there in October. The family room was occupied twice, so we got 2 double rooms. The Walder family is sooo friendly and warm, it's amazing. We didn't miss anything. The breakfast was standard and there were freshly prepared egg dishes. The coffee was great.
The hotel is of course getting old, I call it old school, but very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The double rooms are really big with a sofa and table. The bathrooms were new.
Price-performance ratio is completely fine.
We didn't use the swimming pool and sauna.
In the evening we sat on the great garden terrace and enjoyed the last rays of sunshine and looked out over Meran. There was always something to drink in the hotel and in the evenings it was very nice to talk to Franz, the boss, about God and the world.
We felt very comfortable.

A beautiful, family-run hotel in Schenna, South Tyrol.
Friendly welcome with all the necessary information for a holiday.
The comfort room we booked was very large, new bathroom, large balcony with a great view towards the village of Tyrol and Merano.
For breakfast there was enough everything, sausage, cheese, fruit, cereal, etc.
There are enough parking spaces available right in front of the door.
There is an indoor swimming pool and a pool in the garden
I can warmly recommend this hotel.

We would be happy to come back.
