Amazing location, but worst service I have had in a long time. Rooms were small, airco wasn’t working properly (someone came and checked, that didn’t help, then no one responded to my second request), the app to book one of the restaurants doesn’t work so you have to walk the 10 minutes to reception twice a day if you want to ensure you can eat somewhere else than in the main restaurant. However, most of the restaurants serve the exact same food, so in the end you find out you could have saved yourself all the walks. None of the staff speak proper English and kids can only do the entertainment if they speak Italian. We had a good time, but that wasn’t due to the resort.

EVERYTHING!! If I could give 0 stars I would!!!
- Not at all all inclusive!! Have to pay for wine, ice-cream, and all in between snacks. The poorest choice I’ve ever seen for food! Practically ZERO vegetables, only overripe tomatoes and cucumbers, which have ZERO taste since normally at this stage they are used for their seeds for planting and agriculture…. With no respect to times, they close the whole breakfast/lunch and dinner 30 minutes prior the closing time and if one dish is empty they don’t refill it. First come first serve. Everything is unhealthy and fat.
- Extremely limited choice in food, only one of every product. One veggie, one fruit, and no one cares if you like it or not or may have an allergie. In fact no one even speaks English apart from the reception.
- The pools, the slides need rénovations ASAP, just by the fact that it’s becoming dangerous.. i scratched my back many times on it just because it has been repainted 50 times in the past 50 years and never renovated.
- The pool is horrible color, disgustingly blurry water and overpacked. Doesn’t make you want to get in to be the 250th sardine in the can. Keep in mind that it’s freezing cold in the pools. They even have a jacuzzi, but guess what? The water is as cold as in Iceland, my kids were shaking because it was so cold.
- Another thing about one of the pools is that is very big with high edges and quite deep for kids, with only 4 exits, which could be dangerous for kids. Lifeguards are most of the times wondering off and not managing their hip appropriately.
- The bar doesn’t serve all the drinks you want, and the worst thing for the ecology is to use so many plastic cups, this is a big big problem for the environment!! But if you look on the sides of the road, I guess people just don’t even care, beacuse they litter. In general the island looks like a dump. So it doesn’t give you an esthetic feeling, you are so much looking for when coming to Italy.
At the bar they don’t serve you the cocktails you want just the “6 they make” (once again served in little plastic cups, made out of the cheapest plastic). When I asked for a pina colada - they looked at me like I was an alien. When I proposed to even pay for it, I felt like they will kick me out of the bar. I mean this is exactly the feeling the staff gives you. Not at all friendly.
The wine that is not included, they only have 1 type at the bar - and it’s impossible to drink. They don’t even give you a choice even if you pay… seriously?! We’re in Italy!!!!
The rooms - impossible to sleep, because there is zero sound proof. The people running, yelling, laughing and socializing in the hallways from 7am to 2am with no respect to others relaxing or sleeping.
The beach is not onsight; you have to wait for a bus ≈ every 30 minutes, but they don’t even have a specific schedule. So you never know how long to wait. Instead of managing your time the way you want, you wait for a bus that god knows when will come.
The a la cart restaurants need a several days confirmation, so basically since they are always overfilled you will never get a table.
The rooms are very small, with hard beds and hard pillows. The bed sheets don’t get changed everyday. We had a real pond on our balcony everyday since the gutter was located directly on it and leaking with dirt. So disgusting.
Honestly such a disappointment everything!!! :(((

Nice resort overall, rooms presented well and clean with a nice view. Pools are great but a bit far from eachother with the size of the resort.

The toboggan is very far down and requires a lot of steep inclines and steps to go up and down which is exhausting in the heat. The pools all close at 6 which is pretty early.

The resort is in the middle of nowhere, and taxis are the most expensive I’ve seen ( and I thought Ireland was expensive) a 19km journey cost us 60 EURO from the airport to the hotel which is a rip off. And a taxi to terrasini a village 7km away costs about 40 euro one way which honestly is the most expensive I’ve seen, unless it’s “tourist” price. So essentially you’re trapped unless you walk for hours or have rented a car and risked the mental driving they have here. Bear in mind a taxi to Palermo which is 42km away costs over 100 euro one way! Crazy prices which are dictated by the hotel as you’ve no other way.

Staff for the most part have been friendly however very relaxed and slow, it took 20 mins to check in alone.

For some reason the all inclusive bars all close from around 1 till 3 which is honestly ridiculous considering you want to chill by the pool and want a drink.

For a resort with 803 rooms there is only one restaurant open (Breakfast 7:30-9:30, lunch 12:30-2:00, dinner 7:30-9:00) very short windows of time and food is very similar every day with little choice.

Be prepared to walk up and down hills in the heat as some areas can be far away. We were told more restaurants would be open at the end of June but we are unsure of how true that is.

Overall it’s a nice resort in itself with great views, nice pools and nice rooms, but the location and prices of taxis traps you here.

Horrific experience at this hotel. They advertise it is possible to have peace and quiet and relax but none of this is true. There is noise and shouting everywhere. No insulation at all in the rooms and the acoustic in the food area is terrible as well. Rooms desperately need to be renovated, pictures on the website are from around 10 years ago and nothing has been done in the time. Dirty stains on the walls and no toiletries (in an ALL-INCLUSIVE resort?!). Pools are way too crowded and toboggan is frequently closed for no reason. Very sad because this is the reason a lot of people visit this hotel. You have to pay extra for ice cream, to rent sports material, etc. etc. The bars are understaffed so dirty (wasps flying around everywhere) and long waiting lines. When it's finally your turn you get the most little plastic cup with gross drinks. Only plus is the location but still would strongly advise NOT TO GO HERE!

Run down tiny rooms, even smaller TV. Only one socket in the whole room. Very limited breakfast with bad coffee. Nice view from the rooms but that's it.

Service was one of the worst I have seen at a hotel. It is very run down and the customer service was deplorable. Dinner was terrible. Very low quality food and disgusting wine. I even found a hair in my morning scrambled eggs. Everything was dirty. I am dumbfounded how this resort is even called a resort and able to stay open. I strongly not recommend to stay at Città del Mare.

We were there for 8 nights, let’s start with the positives we’re the view and the waterslides that go into the fresh sea, the beach bus goes regularly to the beach and it was no problem to get there.
The food was very poor and it was the same always and there were very little selection. In breakfast there was no omelette, no fried egg. To get pizza you have to stand in a hour long queue then the pizza was only a basic pizza with Frankfurter sausages and canned mushrooms as the toppings. Is this Italian pizza? I don’t think it’s really Italian.
The swimming pools after breakfast all the sunbeds were taken. The pools were very noisy and it was very busy and crowded and you can’t even relax.
That the shows were all done in Italian not in other languages. The staff are good but they need more staff to cover the whole resort. The sports in the mini club were good they just did it in Italian but they translated it to English.
The rooms were good and the towels were regularly changed. But at the beach they don’t give beach or pool towels.
For 3 years we wanted to enjoy a relaxing all inclusive holiday but because of noise and overcrowding it wasn’t what we expected.
