HOTEL BARONE DI MARE

I stayed for 2 weeks at the beginning of August with my family. The structure would be beautiful, as would the rooms and swimming pools, but in fact the village IS NOT MANAGED. It looks like a structure at the end of the course for failure.
1) The rooms are dirty, they only change the towels. The boys' beds are not beds but are chaise longues with a sheet on top
2) The kitchen is EMBARRASSING.
Both in terms of food quality (repetitive and poor poor quality) and room and cleaning staff. Improvised waiters wandering disoriented around the room, holding plastic glasses and spoons; in a 4 star it is not acceptable.
3) ENTERTAINMENT: a group of poor after-work people. Only the baby club (Chiara) and the mambo jumbo are saved. The others all need to be reviewed.
4) POOL. Dirty. In 2 weeks never seen anyone clean it. When I swam with goggles there was even cutlery in the seabed! Lifeguard non-existent. His job was only to open and close the umbrellas.
5) TRAIN: this aspect should also be reviewed. The village/beach ride was 2 minutes. The train made a trip every half hour so it means that if you missed "the opportunity" because for example it was overcrowded you had to wait half an hour standing (I'll start by saying that the train was only for the village). The trips to and from the beach had to be continuous. The interruption of service during lunch breaks from 1pm to 3pm should also be removed.
6) BEACH/ SEA: Wonderful. It's worth the trip

Very beautiful structure and fantastic entertainment, but there is disorganization and carelessness in the cleanliness of the restaurant, under the pagoda dirty and moldy sofas, in the restaurant dirty floor and very often stained tablecloths, sometimes even dirty cutlery. Not to mention the shuttle service, a constant anxiety. Otherwise very nice rooms with air conditioning and standard food

No baby bottle service practically non-existent ... not to mention the restaurant, absolutely rude staff and if you went more than once to get something they looked at you very malleable 🤦 nothing good the pool always dirty ... no no absolutely not to return rejected

I state that I have always traveled for pleasure several times a year, an average of 6/7 trips a year in Italy and abroad, and I often love to change tour operators to always have new and different experiences.

I make this premise because based on my experience in addition to the type of work I do, I have tools to evaluate the price / service ratio offered by VERATOUR / VERACLUB, in the Barone di Mare village in Torre dell'orso, for my experience it is WIDE OUT. MARKET compared to other Italian national competitors, which also have villages not far from Barone di Mare. Needless to add, in which I was, SAME PERIOD, between END OF JULY and BEGINNING OF AUGUST FOR 15 DAYS, same conditions, 2 adults + infant, triple room (superior room) consisting of 2 rooms + bathroom and terrace, with ALL INCLUSIVE treatment, transport by own means.

I immediately clarify that the quality level of the services is GOOD.

The animation is of a good standard, because the young people selected, for the most part, come from academies of various kinds, acting and more, under the careful guidance of Alessio. The kitchen brigade works hard to offer good dishes, under the careful guidance of the ALWAYS PRESENT MAITRE, ready to solve daily needs, such as that of the daily fresh milk we needed. Bar staff always polite. The structure is beautiful because it is not very big, I think it can accommodate a maximum of about 500 people.

I will try to summarize to explain why this complaint about the price / services ratio, about 1800 euros (for 15 days) more expensive than other experiences in nearby areas.

The biggest annoyance was the sudden closure of the children's playground at 6 pm instead of 9 pm as had happened in the previous 10 days. This without any notice or explanation, even when I told the village chief Samuele and the manager Veraclub Ondina, of the question, both were unaware of the story, the answer that was given, we must ask the property for explanations. It was their express wish to limit opening hours until 6pm

Clarifications that I have NEVER received since.

Consider that the beautiful playground for children is positioned on the solar pavement of the immense restaurant room, without coverage, it goes without saying that my son, less than three years old, I take him to play either early in the morning or after 6 pm, when the sun goes down. Otherwise, sunstroke surely comes to both. (never found in other villages time limitations for slides, swings, etc.)

A plus that I have found in other villages paying less, and not found at Barone di Mare, is the complete ABSENCE of products in the bottle. Let me explain better, having experience of villages of other groups, I have always found in addition to the fresh dishes prepared by the kitchen also shelves full of baby food, baby food, various shapes of pasta for infants, powdered milk, bottled water, fruit juices etc. Here there were ONLY fresh dishes prepared by the kitchen in addition to sipped bottled water.

A second plus that I have found in other resorts is completely ABSENT in BARONE DI MARE, it is the luggage service from the parking lot to the room. In the other places this service was provided with personnel and electric car, but here ABSENT. Although the structure has electric cars, without considering that this information is not available, except when you are under the sun at 40 degrees waiting for someone to come to "your rescue"

Just for the first 2 things, (playground and baby bottle), for my past experiences, they confirm that having paid 1800 euros more, is a WIDE OFF MARKET price.

BAD, really with great flaws and shortcomings especially in the all inclusive formula. Hydromassage not available except on the beach and for a fee, beach and attached bar, very crowded and also open to the public who are not staying in the village. Non-existent bar. Spa not yet built, but sponsored. In short, no!
