Hotel La Lucertola

Well well, where to start. The hotel is kinda old,still works but not really modern. The only great thing about this hotel is that it’s quiet inside, just old people so no problems, but that doesn’t mean it’s quiet at night. The WHOLE night ,till 4am, was someone playing music next to the hotel(party we could say) the noise was so loud u could hear it even when the windows were closed. U know what else u can hear? Every word someone says in the room next to u because the walls are SO thin. But the worst thing was the restaurant, food was dry, it was slow, and we didn’t really like any of it. For a one night stay, mid.. for staying longer, hell no!

This is a warning to all travellers thinking of booking here - DO NOT!
Never in my life have I experienced such an utter luck of customer service and left with a feeling of being totally ‘ripped off’.
First of all the positives - the location is very good and it’s located in a very beautiful town. The rooms are okay, a bit dated but it’s exactly how the pictures are… it almost had a nice art-deco charm about it.
Now onto the negative, and why I’d never recommend anyone ever staying here. On our last night, a beach club just next to the hotel was blaring loud techno music until well past 2am. Let me just say this made it impossible to sleep. At some points it was well over 80 decibels (with the normal recommended limit being below 40),for anyone unfamiliar we are talking music festival levels. This made it impossible to sleep, and let alone, this was my honeymoon and I was trying to have a romantic time with my partner. Now, I understand that noise issues happen but the complete ‘no care’ attitude of the reception staff was mind blowing. First of all they said the hotel was full and could not move us to another room (the next day we found out that this was not the case, by the hotel manager ), they did not even apologise and said it was the “last party of the summer” and refused to call the police or do anything about it as “it wasn’t their problem”. We ended up calling the police ourselves and they took the issue seriously. But we hardly slept that night and the next day, when raising this issue at check out, once again, they did nothing and offered no remedy to the issue. They told us we had to contact the booking platform for any type of refund or compensation. We have done this but they’re now are ignoring the booking platform entirely.
Moving us to another room would of solved the issue straight away.. a refund of any type or offering us a couple of drinks would of helped. But we left this place entirely sleep deprived and with a bad taste of people not caring at all about their guests. This place is clearly just about money for them and not about the guest or their experience! They really don’t care about anyone else but themselves!

It’s not a 4-star hotel. I don’t think most of the reviews are genuine.

We stayed 3 nights, service is very bad rooms are too old. Our AC system was broken and we had to work with reception guy in night going up and down the building to check if it working. It felt more like working to fix things at my home rather than being in hotel. After long investigation and the guy managing the rooms very reluctantly gave us new room.

There was an event at the hotel in one of the night before and next morning breakfast was reduced, larger plates were not available and it’s the worst coffee I have ever had. It more like hot milk.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been for a business trip. The rooms were not really clean.
The hotel is totally destroyed and during our breakfast time there have been some construction works… these were really loud and annoying. It was impossible to have a conversation with my colleague.
We‘ve payed more than 150€ per room per night, this is inappropriate and unacceptable!
No one warned us about this situation and the hotel receptionist just said: “Sorry”

So yes thanks a lot for this “sorry” that really helped…
For such a high price I’ve expected at least a more professional reaction and a much higher standard in all aspects.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and the experience was not good.
The rooms with a view are nice to sit out on the balcony, but the two rooms we were in were outdated, musty smelling, and had inconsistent AC. That in itself, was not bad enough to warrant bad review - the sea view is wonderful BUT, after checking in we arrived in our room that had the strong smell of sewer. It was enough to make us gag.
We requested for them to look at it and try to fix it and waited for an hour and then approached had to approach them again. After finally getting assistance they decided to transfer us to a new room that was very much a downgrade. Instead of sea view we had a balcony next to the neighboring HVAC system and no view. We explained this was our honeymoon and approached the staff several times about the experience and eventually got transferred back to our original room once they solved the problem with the smell. Overall, it's an average at best hotel but we felt like an inconvenience to the staff which made the experience not enjoyable at all.
