Mercure Marijampole

Nothing special AT ALL. Paid 100€ per room. Rooms were quite old, lack of maintenance. Real fast was very poor. This is a 3 stars hotel by far.

Poor communication from hotel
Whilst a nice hotel, we arrived to find a huge festival right next to the hotel which continued until after midnight with very loud music & the bass being felt in the room. We couldn’t change room as the hotel was fully booked & so our window overlooked the loud concert. This clearly impacted our sleep. Why the hotel did not think to inform guests of this I am unsure. They also failed to tell us that the roads leading to the hotel had barriers in place to stop us driving to the hotel. We had to leave the car & walk to the hotel to find out how to access it. The answer from reception was to just drive around the barriers on the wrong side of the road.
Overall a restless night & lack of communication from the hotel.

Second time staying at the hotel and also the last. Arrived after midnight to find a surprise new parking fee of 10eur per night. Fine, we didn’t read that on Booking ourselves, but this fee wasn’t there about a year ago. Hotel clearly wasn’t full, but we were only able to book a premium room for 99eur, so altogether 109.

The room was fine and clean, although the bed itself not very comfortable. Shower gel had not been replaced / refilled. Shower tap had a button missing. Would expect a bit more attention to such basic detail for that price.

The most unpleasant surprise was the breakfast, which was supposed to be from 7-10. When we got there around 9:15, and by that time a lot of the food had finished. There were also no plates, cups, cutlery. Coffee machine needed service, milk and beans had ran out. I went to ask the reception if they will replenish the food and bring more plates etc. They said “probably not, because the breakfast ends at 10”. Again, the hotel was not full.

The staff were giving attitude instead of being helpful and front desk didn’t even bother to get off the phone when we checked out.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect breakfast being available at the time they say the service takes place.

Left the place feeling ripped off and disappointed.

The owners of this hotel manage another property, which doesn't show on google maps, and which is Sviečiu Namai Ten. Since it's the same owner, Im leaving my review here. When it was the time for checkin I didn't get any message. I wrote to the host where my code was and received it only after 15 minutes. So, they don't allow any checkin a minute earlier without 30 euro extra payment, even though they have free rooms, but they don't let a guest enter on time. I spent more time opening the building entrance door after getting the code because the dial equipment worked weirdly (have a video recording). A hotel employee dialed me by phone and started convincing that everything was fine, that nobody complains, it's just me (yes, literally!), that she had a lot of work (until 3 pm) with the other clients, so somebody always has to wait...I was estonished. It is just unbelievable that such a service exists! It was happening in a hallway, and later I couldn't enter my room, because a dial equipment on another door didn't work too and the signalisation turned on! I was still arguing with a hotel employee who barely could apologise, almost making me guilty about the situation. It wasn't a polite conversation with sincere apologies, it was in a high voice, saying how much work she has, how she can't change the hotel policy, and that sending the code 15 minutes after the agreed time was fine. I felt I was the most unwanted guest because her excuse was that the other clients were waiting. I think not taking responsibility is a big issue. If you can't cope with "so many" guests (aha, crowds of tourists here), then give in this job to someone more capable and hospitable. It was real to send one automatic message from the morning till 3 pm even if you have the busiest day. After some more waiting and desperate effort, I finally managed to enter the room. Taking all this time and effort wasted, it took me overall 33 min to enter the property after announced checkin time. I was afraid to go out because the dial equipment may work unproperly again, and I'll get stuck outside, and nobody will help for sure.
