Reviews
The room itself (standard suit overlooking the parking) is old, shabby and very stuffy.
The conditioner would not work effectively, nor the open windows. We tried both (not simultaneously) and it still was hot, no matter that the outside temperature was 20).
The pillow reminded me of a big ball - impossible to sleep on such a thing.
The breakfast was good, nice view from the restaurant.
The pool was okay, but the so called jacuzzi did not have underwater massage streams at all, since it was old. It was just a big bubble bath of hot chloride water that made my skin itch almost immediately.
Overall impression - nice restaurant and weird rooms.
The most strange impression is long corridors - you feel exactly like in horror movies... Old fashioned tasteless design and a scaring atmosphere.
Firstly, the Caesar salad was drenched in salad cream, making it grossly overpowering and unenjoyable. Additionally, it was excessively salty. The pasta dish I ordered was both salty and sweet, an unusual and unpleasant combination. Lastly, the duck was overwhelmingly salty.
I believe that such issues could lead to serious health concerns for your patrons, such as gastritis, if not addressed. I strongly recommend reviewing the kitchen's practices and considering a change in your culinary team to ensure a better dining experience.
The hotel has excellent location near the central park of the city.
The personal is very helpful. Guests could visit the pool with a sauna and jacuzzi included that is open on extended schedule during weekends!
Beautiful breakfast and honestly earned 4 stars!
I definitely recommend this place!
First, we arrived late at night, gates were closed, but opened promptly after ringing the bell (it's nice, that car can be parked safely), and in the reception we were greeted in russian (why?), by Lithuanian employee. Receptionist was plesant, gave us additional key-card on request, gave all the needed information. However we, as couple, got a little room in the attic with two single beds (why?), single rooftop window, and with air conditioner without remote (couldn't use it without a remote).
Room was dusty here and there, bedding comfy enough and clean, however we noticed footprints on the ceiling, and moldy bottle of shampoo (or whatever it was, we didn't use). Plumbing really cheap, limescales here and there, toilet flushes only after several times. I personally was missing more toilet paper rolls, or paper tissues, cotton swaps, napkins in tea set, etc., but I guess I shouldn't expect much of "budget" room.
Plenty of choice for breakfast, mostly good food, tasty coffee. However, I happened to find a single moldy lettuce leaf in my plate, and again, waitress spoke to me russian. Waitress apologized for this, and I wouldn't blame her, food does go bad sometimes. However, all of it added up, and I wouldn't say it was worth of the money I payed for those two nights.
For the hotel owners: improve cleanliness, and decrease price range for budget rooms. Even if your four-star "business" part is excellent, it does not justify low quality two-star "budget" high prices.
Pros: receptionist Zivile was very nice; great location, lovely outside terrace, hotel has a character and it looks truly beautiful.
Cons: room was very hot (air con remote nowhere to be seen) and pillow very very uncomfortable.
Super weird: business class rooms segregated from "cattle class", there is actually a glass door leading to luxury rooms that says "bussines"(misspelt)-i found this very bizarre.
To sum up, one night was not too bad-a bit too hot to sleep and pillow was iffy. If i need to stay longer than a night I will choose another hotel hoping for cooler rooms and better pillows and, hopefully, free slippers(there is a price list in the bathroom, and your slippers will cost you 3 euros, bathrobe -5-this is just for USING them, not taking home with you- i found this so amusing, I've never seen anything like this in any other hotel.
1. The smell of sewage in the room. No chance to vent it.
2. Dirt: cobwebs and spiders in the corners, air conditioning system vents - not cleaned for a long time.
3. Some receptionists neither greeted nor said goodbye - complete ignoring of guests.
