Mornington Hotel Soon Choon Ipoh

The room is spacious and clean . Housekeeping did a good job. Location for finding food is excellent. Many coffeshops just walking distance away.

We booked this hotel because it had received some good reviews. When we checked in the room was ok. The bed was facing a long window with a view which is great if there is a, seaside, city landscape like Twin towers, nice lake or scenery but unfortunately the view was another building and empty land. The beds were comfortable and the room was quite large. The bathroom and wardrobe was ok...the amenities were minimal. The air conditioning is good. It is a good hotel of your are staying overnight on the way to somewhere else and have a car.

This is where the 3 stars comes in. We left the room for dinner after check in and three was a heavy rain while we were out. When we came back the floor under under the windows was flooded with water. There was a 3 to 4 feet wet pool of water in the floor. We stayed the water up with the bath total and the rest dried up on the morning due to the air conditioner. It could have been dangerous as the guest could have slipped on the wet floor.

There is no free parking. You will have to pay the council parking fee if you want to park in front of the hotel and the staff do let you know if you don't lay you could get a summon or risk being towed. You can park in the vacant land next to the hotel. There is no assistance to help you with the luggage or to show you your room.
