We visited unannounced one afternoon but their naturalist was summoned to take care of us. We were given water in a shed area while the elephants took their time coming back to us. We then were treated to a personal information session up close and personal with 2 elephants, their carers and the naturalist. It was an experience to remember. I'll definitely stay here next time I visit Chitwan.

We had a great time at Sapana Lodge! Everybody took very good care of us - be it at dinner, travel plans or mundane laundry. Definitely worth the price. We‘d like to give a special thanks to Dinesh, our safari guide, who showed us around Chitwan and demonstrated his vast knowledge of the local fauna & flora. If we come back to Nepal again, Sapana would be definitely on our list!

My husband, baby and I stayed for 5 days and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff were so attentive from check in, to carrying our bags, washing our car and making our stay so comfortable and memorable.
The managers were incredibly helpful helping us to organise outings and the staff in the restaurant made mealtimes with our baby enjoyable and fun. We absolutely loved the butter chicken!
We forgot one of our belongings on departure and the hotel were so kind in returning it to us in Kathmandu.
Our stay at Sapana Village Lodge is definitely a highlight of our two years living in Nepal- thank you!

We had a great time at Sapana Village Lodge. The property is very nice and all the staff was very caring - from service to the manager and the guides on the different excursions - they were all very helpful and flexible. We also liked their sustainable approach with many things, and can highly recommend the Lodge.

A small group of business friends drove together from KTM to visit Chitwan Park and we booked one night at Sapana Village Lodge. The experience was top notch from the welcome we received to the relaxing patios, our rooms and - the best part - the jeep safari into the park. We took a half day tour with Janak and he was the best guide and naturalist we could have had. He knew to shepherd us quickly to our jeep and get a head start in front of the crowds. He was very knowledgeable about the birds - able to identify them visually as well as by their calls - and all of the wildlife that we saw along the way. He made sure that we saw as much wildlife as possible, even toward the end of the safari taking a small side trip to see a rhino. It's clear he loves his job and sharing his knowledge with us - I highly recommend him as your guide. The best part was we were fortunate enough to cross paths with a bengal tiger - once in a lifetime experience. I hope to get back to SVL again next time I'm in Nepal!

Our stay at Sapana Village Lodge was truly exceptional. All of the staff was welcoming and kind, the grounds beautiful, the food and drinks delicious, and the activities created memories we will always treasure. Our guides -- Dinesh, Hemanta, and Sahil - were extremely knowledgeable and competent and really made our experience extra special. Dinesh guided our village tour, jeep safari, and birdwatching walk, and he is passionate about the land and wildlife conservation and could identify every bird in the region. We also loved having him teach us about the local history and customs. Hemanta and Sahil guided our canoe trip and jungle walk and are also experts on the local wildlife and ecosystem and kept us safe with a close encounter with a rhino. I would whole heartedly recommend staying at Sapana and would love to return if I am lucky enough one day!

We had a great time at Sapana village lodge (But please read full review). The staff was friendly and the activities great with good variety and dedicated guides.
We chose Sapana as we do not want to support cruel elephant tourism. The rescued elephants look healthy and have great opportunities to roam around freely. They also do not do the elephant safari.
As great as this all is, the lodge offers an elephant bath. We thought this is about watching the elephants in the river, however they lead you to an elephant from another hotel that is forced to do the bath by splashing water on the tourists with a metal stick. We did of course not participate.
As europeans we do not at all understand why they offer such an activity even tough they are promoting not to support elephant cruelty. Please please remove this from the program. It puts a very bad light on the hotel even tough we had a great time.
