Very central location. Excellent price/quality ratio. Good restaurant, specifically more local.

Overall the hotel is top of its class in Lublin. I stayed in a very large room with large windows and a modern and large bathroom. It came with a desk and a couple of chairs. The bed was large and exceptionally confortable, and quite frankly, thats all you need from a hotel.

The room was cleaned daily and all the staff were polite and pleasent, from the receptionsist to the restaurant staff and the cleaners.

There were a couple of issues, the first was that there was no fridge in the room. I was informed they don't have enough fridges, so one had to be located and was placed in my room on day three. For a hotel of this caliber I would have assumed the rooms would have fridges and it would have been useful. However with the cost of energy as it currenty is, I am not complaining.

The other thing I was told is that they only have safes in rooms on the second floor. While nothing was stolen and I wasn't particuaualy worried, I had to leave around 300 pounds in cash, spare cards and passport in the bedside drawer. I am happy to do this in this hotel, but I would not have been comfortable in a hotel in some other countries.

There was a bit of a miscommunication issue about checkout, which they kindly extended to 2 pm, but unforutunalty the receoption didn't double check and I got a call to leave at 12.30. It wasn't a problem as I was packed and about to go to see a friend. The receptionist was very apologetic. The late checkout was just a precaution is case of two many beers the night before.

There is no bar as such in the hotel, it forms part of the restaurnt which shuts early. there is however a supermarket opposite which stays open until 11.45 and have cool bottles of beer in the frige. But obviously without a fridge in your room, you'd need to drink them pretty quickly...something I don't recomend as Polish beers are around 1.5 to 2% stronger than strong UK beers.

The upside of the location is that its very peaceful. There's a lovely park which strenches miles and good cycle tracks to a lake about 3 miles away. Apart from the hotel itself, there are very few restaurants, coffee shops and bars nearby, so you have to get a bus to get anywhere. Although a Bolt is so cheap in Poland its simply not worth the hassle of bussing it. I'm sure my Polish friends woud disagree with my foolhardy spending. That said, I saved on the hotel, which is an absolute bargain for what you get.

There absolutely no need to stay in the centre of Lublin when cabs are so cheap. It's far cheaper to find a quality hotel like this a little away from the centre and get cabs whenever you need to venture into town.

I'd definitely stay here next time I'm in Lublin.

* Exceptional rooms, clean, fresh, quiet and nicely equipped with very comfortable beds and bathrooms
* Exceptional self-serve morning breakfast
* An underground garage is available (and necessary as the parking lot is not large).

The Dining Room:
We travel North America and Europe far and wide. The Piano Restaurant truly stands out as unique and offering only 5-star meals.
The duck is the best ever, the chicken is just as good as is each and every offering, including desserts.
Such a world-class chef to be found here...remarkable, and that includes the buffet breakfast!
We will stay here for all our future Lubin visits due to the staff and the terrific restaurant.
I did not find a half-star, but I would decrease this review to 4 1/2 stars only because of the piped-in music...Techno! Terrible and disruptive, especially at breakfast. Fortunately, the volume is lower in the dining room.
We discussed this with the manager, a delightful guy, suggesting classical piano music or something more soothing and sophisticated, but he said "it helps to keep the staff happy."
Yes, we get it, but still...it costs you half Star!

The staff is very helpful
The room is comfortable. A lot of points for the shower. It is not very convenient as the location, but well connected with the bus or with the excellent taxi in Poland
