Hotel «Oplenac»

I was there in 2013 and it was good.

Went back there in the summer 2023 and oh man was it an unpleasant surprise.
The place has become old and poorly maintained. The hotel is empty of customers and clearly understaffed.

Talking about the staff:
True Serbs. They don't care one bit about their job and the service quality. You wait for your food an eternity at the restaurant.
The waitress forgot the bread, so we asked for it. By the time she came back with it, a good 30 minutes later, we already had finished eating. The staff is outside, sitting together in the garden, smoking, drinking and laughing. They aren't at work apparently, just there to hang out.

Talking about the bread, it was as hard as a brick, uneatable. The food overall was ok-ish. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

The place has decayed significantly in 10 years. Its a shame, it was a very nice place back in 2013.
People managing it clearly dont care and should be replaced.
The restaurant prices are quite high for Serbia, except for the wine. The wine is good but it was served warm. You dont do that when its 35°C+ outside!

They accept reservations for facilities which they then fail to provide. They also do not provide equal service to equally paying guests.

The whole place appears to be understaffed and undermaintained, too. No mini-bar or fridge in rooms and no place to get any kind of food or drink other than the hotel restaurant.

The photos on booking for sure misleading the people. The place is old, bathrooms full of mold, broken windows with tapes, breakfast out of specific list.
Very unpleasant experience.

The interior of the hotel is old and should be renovated while retaining the old look. The food wasn't tasty, I didn't like any of the food.
Servise was ok.

Good service! But to be honest, foods are all very bad
1/ soup is made of powder
2/salad veggies not fresh
3/ meats are second cooked and taste very hard , it’s over cooked and the top of the decor which the cucumber and the apple are rotten.
PLEASE at least show some RESPECT to your guest !
STAY AWAY

If you want to relax, and have a drink, or eat something, you better avoid this place. All the waiters are very rude, lazy, and you will wait half an hour minimum for them to just notice you. There are better place to have a drink. Owner of this place should really take a look at his employees and change some. There are plenty workers who want to work and be good at it.
