The service was 10 out of 10 however the rooms were not as advertised. We originally booked the villa which was advertised almost like a single level villa. However it was three levels with the pool at the top the kitchen and lounge room in the middle and the bedrooms on the bottom floor, which was quite inconvenient, especially travelling with a toddler. We then requested to move to a smaller room so we moved to the landmark suite which was nicer for us compared to the villa. However the lighting was very poor. The room had ants in the bathroom and the decor was very outdated. Again, it did not look like the pictures on the website. I personally wouldn’t say that this is a five star hotel as I have previously stayed at five star hotels and this wasn’t exactly aligned with five star expectations. The service is truly great and the staff are very accomodating but this and the view is what stood out for me. The pool is average and needs some updates as do the sunbeds that have holes in them and are torn. I don’t believe that this hotel should be advertised as 5 star until renovations are finished and furniture is updated. I probably wouldn’t stay here again which I feel horrible writing because the staff were so great. Thank you to the accommodating staff for their services, we really appreciate it.

The bedroom is okay, the bathroom is good, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. There are two breakfast dining areas with varying options. The atmosphere is quiet, making it ideal for true relaxation.

Location : Wonderful if you are seeking the beach on your door step and some quiet. If you are looking for a wide selection of shops and restaurants, then this is quite a distance from the Old Town or city area, and taxis + ride-hailing is not cheap (e.g. it cost 200 Baht to go to the nearest large supermarket/restaurants area called Porto de Phuket, even though it is only 1.8km away)
Hotel buildings/rooms: It's evident from the structure and grounds that this used to be a grand and luxurious hotel.
The room we stayed in (the Landmark Suite) was spacious. However the age is evident - from the stained marble floors, cracked wooden doors. The TV had no option to mirror or Netflix installed. Like other reviewers mentioned, there is a strong musty smell, whether from the sewerage outside or the moldy air-conditioners.
Upgrading works are ongoing and hopefully they will restore the hotel to its previous glory.
F & B : The breakfast selection was great and the staff were courteous and professional. I am still amazed by the main staff at the eggs/waffle/noodle station - he could remember the orders perfectly (I ordered 2 different selection of ingredients for 2 omelets)
The cocktails at the bar were good, and again the staff there are friendly and warm.
Other than 1 reception staff who was a little rude and unhelpful, everyone we came across was very helpful, kind and friendly. The service of this hotel makes it 5 star, even if the current state of the hotel is not.

I had a wonderful stay at Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket. The service was outstanding, especially from Sonthay (Sonya), who went above and beyond to make my stay funny and joyful. Also her coworkers and all the staff in the hotel extremely kind and always with an smile. The room was spacious and offered beautiful lake views, and the breakfast buffet was diverse and delicious.
The beach was pristine and perfect for relaxation. While the resort is a bit far from the main streets and there was some construction, these were minor issues compared to the overall experience. I highly recommend this resort for a peaceful and luxurious stay in Phuket.

Very well located, next to a small Laguna mall and not far from the high street of Bang Tao. Last time we stayed was in 2016 and I have to say the service remained brilliant but the hotel premises and grounds need a refurb. The sunbeds on the beach look awful and the beach atmosphere is affecting by the scruffy looks more generally, same goes to the main restaurant and general grounds and buildings. However, in this place, you are guaranteed the most beautiful sunsets and warm sea, plus lots of local food options just steps away. Hotel restaurants are amazing - you are going to love both - extremely attentive service and delicious food.

Great hotel experience, the service was excellent from management to the staff. Everyone was so friendly.
Each evening, housekeeping would bring a different Thai snack or Thai drink to the room with a handwritten card. Nice touch.
There was a always a variety of food to choose from at the restaurants, they would switch it up between Thai, Southern Thai, Western, and regional options. The French toast at the breakfast buffet is highly recommended.
Unfortunately, during the few days I stayed there, the weather was overcast and rained hard. As far as I know, the hotel can't do anything to change that. The main areas and rooms were nonetheless comfortable. All the rooms face sea-facing balconies and wide windows for when it's raining. The landscaping is also nice, when you step out of the room door on the other side, you are surrounded by the vines and calming vegetation.
When a more normal time returns to Thailand, I would be interested to check out the many activities that the hotel offers. And hopefully, will be able to enjoy the sunset at a future time.

The staff and grounds are world class. For a sandbox stay or just for vacation, this is a great proposition. Because they have managed to be relatively busy (great value offerings) things are functioning well. The location at the Ocean in Laguna and very close to elegant bang Tao village is unbeatable. I have colleagues stay at maybe posher/newer hotels on Phuket but none have any feel of normalcy like we do. Due to the high amount of permanent (European expat) residents in this area, almost all shops and restaurants are open. The food here is also excellent. The duck-red curry and morning glory my favorites.

This is the best hotel I have ever been. As I love travelling and organize events, I have been to a lot. It is not the most luxurious or fanciest hotel on Phuket. The real quality is the incredible welcoming staff! Besides that the facilities and location are great.
Dusit Thani Laguna is located directly on the sea and in a green environment 'Laguna' with several lakes, beautifully landscaped gardens, good sidewalks and nice shops, restaurants, art galleries and massage and beauty salons. There are no noisy bars or other entertainment venues. Everything here is very well kept and just right. The best place in Phuket for those who love peace, a personal approach and quality and appreciate real hospitality.
Dusit Thani Laguna has a wonderful and super hospitable staff. How at home I feel here! From general manager to chambermaid, everyone here is very friendly, sincere, passionate and accessible. Because I like to dance, I suggested to organize a biodanza event. That idea was seized with both hands and put into practice.
Furthermore, it is wonderful to relax on the beach in a hammock, in the pool with a view of the sea, on the lake in a canoe, at the beach bar with a good glass of wine, beer or cocktail.
Also the food is delicious. Ask for the lobster! If you have any special wishes, tell the chef or someone else on the staff. Any reasonable request will be honored with love.
I have seen a lot of Phuket. I am incredibly happy that I chose Dusit Thani Laguna. I am alone here using Phuket Sandbox. I live in Thailand and will definitely come back with my husband, kids and friends. Highly recommended! Paradise!

We rook advantage of the sandbox program to come to Phuket. Since I would be working form the hotel during my stay, i requested an extra monitor. The team really strived to help me and I ended up with a 24" extra screen which made working from the hotel much more pleasurable. The staff is very helpful and very welcoming.
I used the gym quite a few times during my stay and there was a good range of weights for squats and dumbbells, perfect for staying fit. My wife arranged for a private session of Muay Thai and really enjoyed her experience

We love this place. We came here and then greeted with very polite and friendly staff. The general manager Ms. Khing (คุณกิ่ง) even came to talk to us personally periodically and help us to get personal cooking classes with the chef.
The location is next to the beach. While there are different levels/names of the room you can book which mean different distance from the bench, the views on all of them aren't that bad and you can enjoy the view of trees instead of the bench.
Breakfast is great. We like all the food here.
The shuttle can be requested easily, but they are only for Laguna hotels in the same area.
Small notes on the club room we got:
- curtain won't block all lights like you can expect in usual brand name hotels
- free water
- some plugs we found are old and a bit loose.
On Sandbox: they were busy (I think) and we had to call them several times in early July for urgent requests. Eventually things got done and they remained respectful throughout the process, though I hope they were more responsive and quicker as time goes. In short, call if you need help and they will assist you. After arrival they have been really helpful to connect dots for us (which I believe many hotels are feeling the same: that things for Sandbox are not very organized yet)
