Reviews
The first night we had to spend in very old rooms which smelled disgusting and were not cleaned properly. After complaining a lot, we were able to switch rooms for our remaining 2 nights. The rooms had at least sea view. Which is a must when you book!!! Still the rooms are old and smell. The carpet is disgusting. Bathrooms are ok but again not 5-star worthy.
The food is good. Not super much choices but ok. However, the “restaurant” and outside eating area is horrible! It is like a canteen. Not at all cozy or 5-star worthy!
The service is very bad. Nobody asks you if you want something to drink. Also the live music at dinner time is so extremely loud that you can’t have a proper conversation. Nobody takes your empty plates or cleans the table. This was really disappointing!
The beach is very nice and the pool area also. Be super careful. Many people and kids slipped on the tiles. The pool needs Restauration. Lots of black spots :(
Happy that we only stayed 3 nights! Not a 5 star hotel at all!
I'm writing this review as I'm still here at the hotel. That's my desperation. Booked 10 days at Boyalık Beach Resort, currently on day 8 and can't wait to go home. While it wasn’t *terrible*, calling this a 5-star hotel is a stretch worthy of Olympic gymnastics. A generous 4 stars, and that’s with rose-tinted goggles.
Let’s start with the good:
* The staff (excluding housekeeping) are lovely! Honestly, they go above and beyond — polite, helpful, and hardworking.
* Food? Surprisingly good! Yes, it’s repetitive, but at least you’ll know what you’re eating by Day 3.
*Beach: beautiful sand and turquoise waters.
*pool: large enough to cater for the guest. Looks clean.
Now, the not-so-glamorous bits:
* The hotel is clearly in its "golden years" — possibly looked amazing years ago. Now it’s just... tired. Cracks, wear and tear, and a general need for maintenance are hard to miss.
* Housekeeping — bless them — but it’s just not up to scratch. I have a toddler, so believe me, I notice smudges. 8 days in, and not once have the mirrored wardrobes or sliding balcony doors been cleaned. Balconies? Let’s just say they’ve joined the "untouched since 2018" club.
* Cups for in-room coffee/tea are removed and never replaced. I had to go on daily missions to the lounge bar just to get a cup for a coffee. I even called reception multiple times asking for cups to be sent up — spoiler alert: they never came. Asking housekeeping directly? “Not our job — minibar team.” So... who *is* this elusive minibar team?
*Guest relations? She's stunning, Lovely to chat with. Very friendly. Did anything change: no. Like a soothing podcast with zero impact on reality.
*And finally, the crowd:
Not the hotel’s fault unless they did some insane promo that I wasn't aware of but... wow. I’ve seen more decorum at a Black Friday sale. People shoving, zero manners, and the vibe? Somewhere between budget cruise and school canteen chaos. If you came here for peace, you’ll need to find it within yourself.
*In summary:
Come for the sun, stay for the food, lower your expectations for everything else. Only some here if you find an insane deal otherwise its just not worth the money. If they ever fix up the rooms, re-train housekeeping and overall communicate between departments, there may be hope for it to shine again.
Dinner and breakfast variety was great.
Beach and the sea was amazing (turquoise and flat).
Hotel does not have any facilities like a basketball, volleyball or tennis court which makes it a bit disappointing for a 5 star hotel.
Bathroom shower tiles were extremely slippery which could be quite dangerous for elderly people.
The spa area where the thermal pool is located needs maintenance and doesn’t look clean.
The rest was fine, a relaxing hotel for
People who like the sea and the amazing views.
We enjoyed the buffets with their wide selection of traditional dishes.
The rooms are a bit tired but still very comfortable. We stayed on the road side, which may be preferable for noise reasons. There are weddings on weekends which have music until roughly midnight. Staying on the ocean side would make noise more of an issue.
The service is excellent. Everyone was polite and helpful.
The poolside and beachfront are simply stunning. I have never felt so relaxed.
We want to come back next year.
Me and my family stayed last week at this hotel for a week, and it was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Here are the major issues we encountered:
Terrible Service: The service was appalling. The employees were poorly trained and seemed clueless about basic hospitality. They were unhelpful and often rude. Every day at the pool area they turned on very loud music and we asked every day several times to turn a bit down, because we where unable to have a conversation, neither the baby could have a sleep. They just speak turkish and do not understand you in any other language
Housekeeping Nightmare: Housekeeping ignored our requests and did not clean the rooms properly. Despite multiple complaints, the rooms remained dirty, and amenities were not replenished. We where 4 persons and got every time only 3 towls.
We arrived at the hotel during the night at 4 am and informed the hotel two days in advanced that we need to extra beds for our baby and 4 years old son. Nothing was prepared and it took 1 hour until we where able to go to bed. One afternoon i asked 3 times at the reception if they could change our bed, as the baby unfortunatelly throughed up, but 2 days nothing happened.
Exorbitant Drink Prices: The prices for drinks were outrageously high. We felt like we were being robbed every time we ordered a drink. A beer was 9€ a glas of wine 16€.
Bad quality of food: generally food in Turkey is amazing and I never ate that bad before in Turkey at all. Especially not for the prices the hotel is asking for a half board stay
Invoice Mix-up: The hotel staff managed to mix up our invoices. We asked them to correct the invoice before we left, but they did not managed that in 14 hours. After we checked out, they realized they had forgotten to invoice us for a significant amount. Instead of handling it professionally, they resorted to blackmail my sister who stayed a few days longer.
Blackmailing My Sister: My sister stayed longer than we did, and the hotel staff blackmailed her to pay our invoice. They refused to return her luggage until she paid, which was an utterly despicable and unethical move. We will react with legal measurements now.
Overall, this hotel provided a horrific experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise against staying here. Save yourself the headache and choose a different hotel!
