Hotel Riverside

Not the best we have had. We are used to small rooms but this was tight to say the least. We don't take the kitchen sink but storage left a lot to be desired. We did not sleep well at all. Just didn't work for us, some obviously like the place going back each year. People were on the whole friendly enough but just didn't work for us. Dalyan seems to have a towels on sunbeds issue - not only this hotel - as well. Understand a revamp for 2025 which is needed in parts. Found footpath along river and around hotel bordering on dangerous in parts to walk on. Lovely location all along that river. Pool also one depth which we hadn't realised.

The location of Hotel Riverside is just amazing. Absolutely stunning. The pool area is lovely though lacks a choice of shade, either all or nothing so it would be better for umbrellas to be available. The staff were friendly, the barside food was good. Breakfast was very hit and miss; if you don't get there early, forget it, it's gone! Very little choice, some days were better than others but overall disappointing. However the MAIN disappointment were the bedrooms. We appreciated that the rooms were going to be basic with the 2 plus rating but for us it was the location of the hotel and we were basically just going to accept the simplicity but to say the double room was small is an understatement. We couldn't store anything, tripped over our suitcases and basically lived for two weeks like backpackers! Again this was to be accepted in light of the basicness of the hotel but it was upon chatting with other guests that we learned that some of the rooms were absolutely spectacular! And I mean four star loveliness when we were taken in to review them, beautiful floors, large rooms, exceptional bathrooms, it was like another hotel. So, you would epxect that these guests had paid considierably more - not all all! In fact we holidayed with Jet2 and we paid so much more for our basic room than those guests who had booked direct and one couple peak July time, had paid less than £60 a night for their luxurious double room. So quite honestly we felt pretty fed up with what we had had to put up with compared to what other guests were experiencing. Not sure, maybe booking direct was the advantage? And as for the 'family' rooms apparently they were stunning too. So you take your chance, and pot luck - we did hear that the whole hotel was undergoing ongoing refurb but for us, we missed out and it left a bitter taste in our mouths. I will say however that the hotel really is in a beautiful spot and if all the rooms had been the same, I'd return but under the circumstances of the above and how we felt pretty cheated, definitely not! One other thing, our flights were late and when we arrived no-one was up waiting for us, we had to get the Turkish Taxi driver to track down a hotel employee to check us in - this was at 2.00 am!!
