Karmir Resort & Spa

Simply, the resort is not for 5 *. Anyone who has been to other hotels knows what I'm talking about. Too little for that money. The entertainment team is to be welcomed. The rest is average. I noticed, and other guests commented, that a group of guests gathered in the rooms and held strange meetings.

The food was good, but almost all the imported alcohol, WiFi at the hotel, and even the dinner on the last day came at an extra cost—which I believe shouldn’t be the case at a 5-star UAI hotel. My friends and I stayed here one week until September 3, and during this period, there were a lot of Turkish guests (which I didn’t mind), though I had expected to see more English or Russian speaking tourists. It might have been due to the timing, with Turkey’s Victory Day on August 30.

On the positive side, the mountain views were beautiful, and the sea was nice. However, the beach bar was quite disappointing—the sandwiches were left in the fridge and were wet, and the beer was just bad. The drinks at the hotel were a bit better, though. This might be a great place to visit as a couple for a relaxing trip, and the pool games (water polo and volleyball) were fun.

I’m giving this hotel 2,5 out of 5 stars mainly because of the unexpected extra charges—especially for imported alcohol, the WiFi (which I think should have been included in the room rate), and the paid dinner on the last day (after 2 P.M. you only have access to the pool and drinks without alcohol). The WiFi charge was particularly frustrating, as you had to pay per device, so if you had both a phone and a laptop, you were charged double.

The personnel are very friendly, especially the young guy from the pool bar, Teşekkür ederim.

Note: If you want to buy something (ex. Cigarettes, Chips, Water) you can just take a walk to the Göynük town which is 15 min close, prices there are twice lower than around the hotel area.
