Carmel Wayfarer Inn

I recently stayed at this hotel and had an incredible experience! When I arrived, I was greeted by a Panchel and attentive staff who made check-in a breeze. You are so lucky to have him. The level of service throughout my stay was exceptional—whether it was the housekeeping team, the concierge, or the restaurant staff, everyone went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and well taken care of. Mike was so kind and accomodating.

The location of the hotel couldn’t have been better. It’s perfectly situated in the heart of the city, with easy access to local attractions, shopping, and dining options. I loved walking to major landmarks and enjoying the surrounding area. Whether you're here for business or leisure, the hotel's central location makes it an ideal base for exploring.

The room was clean, modern, and well-equipped, offering a relaxing retreat after a busy day of sightseeing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking both great service and a fantastic location!

I love this place, I come here with my dad every year and I think the price is great for the room. We stay in the queen suite and love the two room 2 bathroom set-up. It’s a super close walk to all the restaurants in downtown Carmel and a short walk to the beach. Parking is on site and right around the hotel, I’ve never had an issue with that. There is also a local bar located just a few steps away. The beds are cozy and the room is always clean. Staff is very friendly as well

Overall very happy especially for the price and location. I do agree that it's an older hotel but that made me feel okay coming back into the room with sandy feet, mattress isn't 5 stars but at least it was a proper king since we have 2 dogs (been lied to a handful of times in the past few years and it makes a difference!) checkout was very nice process as I'm always running 15 minutes behind and they didn't rush us. we had a fridge but no microwave or coffee maker which I should have checked. Overall it's perfect for what we wanted, they're dog friendly which is super rare and it was very quiet and we didn't have trouble with parking even though it's very close to the beach. Price was about $200 a night for the first week of August 5 blocks from the beach in a king ocean view room so that and the kindness for the dogs and at check out gets 5 stars.

It is an older hotel but clean. It was very close walking distance to downtown shops and dining. it had a cute little patio area. This is not a 4-star hotel but clean enough and the location was nice. A little further from the beach but cozy. There is a Tavern at the corner 3 buildings down, which was the best feature. We would stay again.

The moment I arrived the front desk a gentleman named James treated me like I was family coming home from a long trip. So much more than cordial he was welcoming and professional and ethical. Greeted me with a smile as though GOD had told him to greet me as though GOD was showing up HIMSELF!

This hotel is such a gem. My room was enormous, stylish, and clean. The bed was super comfy, and James at check-in very friendly and helpful.
For the price bracket, this is astounding value.

The location is also great, within easy walking-distance of shops and restaurants. Thoroughly recommended.

Our WiFi connection was spotty in our room but that is my one small complaint. Very comfortable rooms and amazing location, we felt we got a good price for our stay. Staff was friendly and we had an easy check in/out experience. We somehow got extra beds in our room which was very cool and unexpected, we paid for a single queen and got two twins in an attached room so my sister and I actually took advantage of this and slept in separate rooms that night!

Rooms are dated but clean. The evening white guy at the desk was awesome and extremely nice. They are doing some work on the premises to update it but I kind of enjoyed staying in a piece of history. This man told us that this use to be a home. The morning guy was less friendly. The fireplace outdoors doesn't work and we were hoping for an evening on the patio with a glass of wine. The location is walking distance to shops or the beach. It is a hike back uphill but doable. I would definitely stay there again.
