The Read House, Chattanooga1 / 36
8.5
Chattanooga, 107 West Martin Luther King Blvd 🧭 Map
The Read House was such a wonderful experience in every way. The staff was kind and accommodating. The building itself is rich and beautiful. I highly recommend. We stayed in room 303 (right down the hall from the haunted 311). The ghost tour was spooktacular! It’s also so close to amazing attractions in Chattanooga. Check it out!
This was our first visit to The Read House but not the last. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Our room as amazing! The 311 tour, guided by John, he did a fabulous job explaining the history of this beautiful hotel and the events of 311. The food was good and we really enjoyed playing billiards. The beds and pillows were comfortable. If you are looking for a unique experience I would definitely...
EVERYONE IS SO KIND! Traveled alone with my daughters and nephew for my oldest daughter’s birthday. I was concerned it wouldn’t be the best environment for kids, but we were warmly welcomed despite their rambunctiousness. We had a wonderful experience — dined at the lounge and otherwise spent most of our time in the pool. I love that everything we needed was right there in the hotel. Starbucks, dinner...
Had a wonderful stay at the Read House for my nephew's wedding. The reception dinner was perfectly executed and everyone was professional and warming. Lovely historic hotel. My king premier room was exceptional. Everyone I encountered was delightful, from the front desk to housekeeping to the bartenders. I would highly suggest this hotel for a special event or holiday. And to add, I met fabulous...
I cannot say enough about how amazing this beautiful historic hotel is. We’ve stayed here four times, two of those being for the Roaring 20’s New Year’s Eve party, which is absolutely spectacular, and fun beyond words! We’ve stayed in the Manor House side, as well as the Historic Tower, which is our favorite. Both experiences were exceptional. The restoration, decor, and attention to detail is phenomenal...
I stayed in the premium rooms, it was very clean and recently refurbished. My first night was booked separately in one of the traditional rooms, which was fine.

Chattanooga, 1201 Broad Street 🧭 Map
This was our first visit to Chattanooga and we decided to stay at the Chattanoogan Hotel because of its location and good reviews. The rooms were decent and the restaurants are nice. However, we chose valet and paid $22 a night and on our last night there, 30+ cars (including ours) got broken into. I would think that for a hotel valet, their garage would be a little bit more secured for their guests...
Gorgeous, spacious hotel with a fabulous staff and hands down the most pet friendly hotel I have been to. We travel with our little dog a lot and there are hotels we love that being pet friendly is their shtick - this hotel gives them a run for their money. The rooftop bar is beautiful with a stellar drink and food menu and it’s entirely dog friendly. The Forge restaurant downstairs allowed us to eat...
I actually chose this hotel because I don't really like staying in mundane, uninspired hotels. I paid a little extra for our overnight stay because I wanted an accommodation that was more inviting than your basic Hampton Inn or Courtyard Marriott. In the end, was it worth it? I'd say yes. Pro: The common area is very large and inviting. Con: Upon check in, the staff didn't tell me about any of the...
Gorgeous hotel. Has a sparse, brutal architecture feel inside. Very spacious. I could hang out in the lobby for hours. Room was very nice. Bathroom was even nicer. Room service is available as is a few different bars and three restaurants. Parking costs extra.
Beautiful hotel! I wish it had been made more clear that if I wanted housekeeping I had to request it 24 hours beforehand (while there was a sign at the front desk with small print stating this, I didn't see it, and when I was checking in it wasn't verbally mentioned). But otherwise, I really enjoyed my stay and the bed was really comfy. The rooftop bar is also great (do yourself a favor and order...
I have a great time at this hotel! I was immediately greeted by Matthew who let the spa team know me and my mom had arrived. We quickly zoomed into our room and were in awe of the great view! After tossing our luggage in the room we then headed down to the Spa attached to the hotel. I got a hot stone massage from the lovely Crystal & my mom was pleased with Julie. Great work ladies, thank you!! After...

This hotel was great. My family stopped by on our way to Florida from Ontario and it was perfect. It is very clean and it makes you feel like you're at home. The staff are all really nice too. The location was amazing with a mall, a Dave and Buster's and plenty of restaurants. This hotel is also located right on a big hill and when you look out the window the view is spectacular. This hotel also has...
This hotel was great. It's in a very good location right across the street from a mall which includes a Dave and Buster's. Our room and the lobby were very clean and up to date. The pool was very warm and a fun place to spend the day. The free breakfast was big with lots of options including eggs, sausage, oatmeal, a waffle maker and much more. Overall this hotel was in the perfect location and provided...
This is a mixed review, as the room itself was just fine. We checked in through the Hilton app, and used digital key. As we were relaxing for the evening, an employee walked in, without knocking. They were apologetic and left. Thank goodness, we were presentable. When I asked the front desk what happened, with a bit of annoyance, they said we did not check in. First, that does not excuse not knocking...
Room was great. Wonderful roomy shower with outstanding water pressure and hot water whenever you choose to shower. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the dark haired younger girl. She was extremely personable and suggested places to visit in the area. This location is near very many good restaurants, shopping and gas stations. The continental breakfast was also very good and helped...
The lobby and breakfast area was very nice and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was AMAZING with clean comfortable bed and pillows. Stayed in a king suite that was very roomy and the couch was great to relax on TV was very large and adjustable to see from either couch or bed. Bathroom was very clean with great water pressure and toiletries that I want to buy for my home. Beautiful...
Great location, very convenient to the mall and I-75. They were very accommodating for my late check-in and late checkout. I highly recommend this location.

Clean room with a comfortable bed. Convenient location near highway. Adjacent to. umerous restaurants.
For my first visit to Chattanooga this is probably one of the best places I could have stayed. It is on the road with several other hotel establishments. But it is at the end of the road overlooking a beautiful Green River Bank. The view from my window was gorgeous. The hotel is being renovated into a DoubleTree, and they're adding all of the finest touches one could want.
The suite we stayed in was top notch. So roomy. The entire place had a great vibe and we will definitely stay here again.
Great experience here! The staff was courteous, helpful and very pleasant! We stayed one night, and would loved to stay longer. No continental breakfast, but it’s better this way because you can actually have a really delicious breakfast instead of dried out, stale junk most other hotels offer as their “continental breakfast”. We ordered the breakfast burritos,, they were massive and delicious! I...
We called for room service from 6 am to 7 am no answer . I called the front desk just to see if I was calling the right place. No answer from 6 to 7 there. The phone was off the hook and he was playing on his cell. We finally gave up and ate the buffet for breakfast. Honestly, the worst eggs I've ever had at a hotel. We stayed twice due to reservations ahead of time. Both times we stayed there was...
Spent one night here. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. They have an indoor pool which is great when visiting during the winter. We stayed on the 2nd floor and the ice machine didn't work. Don't buy a coke from the machine. It's $2 a bottle. Yikes!!! They have a restaurant on site. Breakfast in the a.m. was pretty good too. I recommend this hotel to others.

Great hotel for extended stays with kitchenettes. Breakfast bar includes cold and hot foods. Staff warm and professional. Best of, very clean. My favorite feature.
Nice looking hotel from outside, but needs good lot of updates inside. Location is OK, closer to Hamilton place with good number of restaurants and grocery store. Around 15-20 mins from downtown Chattanooga. Friendly front desk, we were upgraded to a large king suite without asking for it. Like any other Residence Inn suites comes with fully equipped kitchen, large spacious living and bedroom area...
Excellent overall. Rooms very spacious. Helpful staff. Nancy in particular has been extra hospitable. The breakfast staff goes above and beyond, and have positive morning attitudes.
Very nice hotel for the price. Non smoking hotel so the rooms do not smell like smoke. Nice amenities like a putting green, pool, spa, gym. There is a small store where you can get little things you may have forgotten. Very nice staff that always acknowledged you and asked how you were doing.
Really nice place. I was traveling with my daughter who just had a baby and my granddaughter. There were several nearby restaurants available. The day we checked in they had hamburgers and chips and fruit available for guest. The room was clean and everything was working properly. The person at the front desk was friendly
The location is perfect. Located right off the highway and with every restaurant you could imagine within a 10 minute radius. House keeping is helpful. Standard residence inn rooms with all of the necessities.

We stayed there on a voucher due to a cancellation of a flight. Pretty standard rooms which were just fine. No elevator, unfriendly staff and do not expect coffee or any breakfast items in the morning. You can buy and microwave some stuff but not worth it.
Lovely but would have given 5 stars but no breakfast with your stay. 1st time here for a Biker event and we enjoyed it. Great location and staff. Clean and comfy. Stores, restaurants, and the mall within walking distance. Would stay again.
Never experienced any problems or issues like a few people may have had. Rather, me and my fiance's stay was clean and comfortable, with the staff very courteous and professional (props to Meghan). Frankly, the pictures are exactly what you expect; every quality standard met and for a fair price... Take my word for it, I've been burned by hotels for almost double the nightly rate and half the quality...
We absolutely loved this hotel! The only issue was the bed was so. so. so hard. Every morning I woke up and was in pain. Other than that, it was a great stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly.
Stayed while passing through, room was clean, beds were comfortable, had a modern feel and our room had a slider door that walked out to a pool area. Hotel is located close to the expressway for easy on and off and near a ton of restaurants from upscale to drive thru. Will stay again!

This hotel was wonderful! The night before I had tried to save some money and booked online a motel for $107. It was disgusting! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were clean and enjoyable. The room was...
My only complaint was when we tried using the hot tub to relax at the end of our day. Some ladies had children in the pool room but were letting them run wild, and they were running back and forth between the pool and hot tub, jumping and splashing in and out of both. We stayed in the hot tub only a few minutes when we realized the ladies weren't going to control their children, even after one child...
We were here for Head of the Hooch. The room was great. It was big with a great view of the river and downtown. Food here was really good. Location is near the steamboat and downtown. My only complaint is the valet lost my key. I did not pay anything at checkout since the regatta covered half of the room.
I called the hotel to assist in a technical issue with the bonvoy app while making adjustments for my upcoming trip. (It was my own error.) Tyler was courteous, helpful, and very welcoming and professional, giving me helpful tips for my plans during my stay while i was on the line. We are so excited to stay here and see Chattanooga for the first time!
Our room was great with a scenic view of the river. Breakfast was good and plenty of options to choose from. There was an unexpected charge of $14.00 for parking even though we did not use their parking lot. Just a heads up, lookout for additional charges for services that were not provided.
The room was clean and had a nice layout. Restaurant was very enjoyable. Great food, great service from Lou, and wonderful view. Only issue was Coffee both days. It wasn’t hot either day. The first morning they had a carafe labeled bold, so it was a double disappointment since it was neither. Lukewarm weak coffee.

The hotel is under renovation, so when I first walked in, I honestly thought about leaving. It looked terrible and the front desk girl was sitting behind a ugly brown fold out table. It's currently going through a lot of renovation, but despite that it's been a comfortable stay. Our room is nice and everything was clean when we got there. Breakfast is average for hotel. Lady that checked is in was really slow to check us in, but other than that no complaints.
When i first arrived at this hotel I was a bit skeptical about the area it was in. When I made it inside I was immediately greeted by Tim. This guy is great. The staff is really nice. They are doing renovations so there is dust everywhere and it’s noisy. If you are a light sleeper do not stay here. You can hear people talking through their doors. It sounded like the people across from us were in our room. Great selection at the breakfast bar.
When I saw the Reception desk and hallway areas were under heavy construction as of December 2017 I almost canceled my stay at the hotel but upon getting to my Room I saw a freshly renovated suite That looked brand new and did not have a harsh smell of paint. I have stayed here before, I enjoyed my stay. Desk staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms are being updated. The room I stayed in received new carpet the day of my arrival. Easy access on and off the highway, Food in walking distance. For the money this is 5 stars!!!
I enjoyed my stay at the super 8 it was in a nice location with a very friendly staff as well as very clean rooms and close by to many restaurants
I have to be honest, this was one of the nicest, hotels we've been to in a while. Headed to GA. And stayed here for the night. The rooms were nicely renovated and everything went smooth. Will definitely stay here again. Also really appreciated the mini fenced dog area that was provided. Location is nice too because there’s a CVS in the next parking lot. Really convenient.
Very clean, comfortable hotel and great location that's a quick trip away from the Chattanooga area attractions. Decent breakfast options, although there was a lack of pastry selections if you came closer to 9am (when breakfast closed). Lots of people staying, so swimming pool outside was packed. This is the best hotel in the area for the price. Fully remodeled rooms and exterior. There was an issue with my booking so the manager upgraded me to a king suite no extra charge. Hotel is a bit dated. Rooms were clean, bathroom floor was damaged but CLEAN. Water pressure was great with plenty of hot water. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. Fridge and microwave worked well. Did not go see the breakfast so I have no comment there.
The indoor pool is unusable, it is filled in with dirt which is baffling on how the dirt was put in there as the windows do not open and there is no big door to the outside. I stopped in Chattanooga because of the winter storm, and stayed at this hotel. It’s super clean — like you could eat off the floor clean — and the staff is very friendly. It’s obviously not a luxury resort; but if you want someplace that is budget-friendly, clean, comfortable, safe, and quiet, you can’t go wrong with this Days Inn.

Don’t stay here. Our room smelled awful. If it hadn’t been 11:30 at night when we got there I would’ve found somewhere else to stay.
People were nice and helpful. When I made my reservation I stated 1 adult and 1 cat, but was still charged extra for the cat. Back exit door does not shut and lock, Back stairway needs a really good cleaning, and the room was a bit shaby (They really need to change the carpet). Location is right off interstate. It's cheap but clean. Do not expect anything fancy. King suite is fairly small compared to others iv stayed in at the same price.
Was a good place to stay for us- we stayed 1 nite passing threw. Front desk gentleman was funny and nice! Breakfast is small, but those rice crispy treats were good for sure, and bananas are always a plus. The facilities are great. The fact that they charged so much for WATER that the convention I was at couldn't afford it is almost a crime. Chattanooga. Summer. Expensive water.
It was a comfortable bed when I needed it at midnight on my way home from an event south of Atlanta. It isn't much to look at, and the parking was very tight. Also, be careful as you walk around the corner of the building to go up the stairs -- the bottom of the stairs is right there for you to bonk your head.

I have stayed in many different Motel6 locations. This Motel6 was the nicest of all. The room was very clean and neat. I stayed for two nights and when I returned to the room, I found it clean and neat as if I had not stayed the night before. I will stay here again when I return to Chattanooga.
The rooms were fine. Everything was pretty clean and comfortable. I ended up leaving my computer in one of the drawers. I'm writing this comment to give accolades to the General Manager at the motel 6 in Downtown Chattanooga. He sent me back the bag and I received it in 3 days. I am forever grateful to this man. Please recognize him!
Nice, clean room. Property was clean, and looked and felt safe for me and my daughter. The staff members were extremely helpful and made our stay comfortable. Bob was wonderful to talk with, remembering to ask if the suggestions he provided were useful (they were!). And the coffee was good!

Nice place. Clean towels and room. Doors were locked when I arrived, so I had to use a peep hole window. There are several places to walk to nearby. This place is off main rd so nice an private area. Small parking area. Super cool shower.
This is an excellent motel and a great value. You usually have to pay twice as much for a room this good. The rooms and beds were very clean, the TV and remote worked, wifi was good, and the shower was fancier than any I have used at expensive hotels. The neighborhood seems to be neither bad nor good, and the woman who checked us in (around 10 on a Friday night) was very rude. Everything else about...
Overall the room was clean & updated . $79 on a Saturday was a good value. For a MOTEL it was great. Bed was comfy & linens were clean which is my #1 priority. AC was great. Shower has good pressure & hot but sink hot water pressure was very low. Told "Absolutely No chance at all" to check in 30 min early despite the room being available yet the check out is early at 10am Phone did not work in room...
This place was a pretty good stop, especially for just one night in town! It was cheap, but clean and it appears to have been remodeled relatively recently. The shower was super nice, but doesn’t get as hot as I would like (however, I love to burn myself in the shower lol). I like the hard floors, because it just seems more sanitary. Beds were comfortable, tv and fridge worked fine, parking was easy...

The rooms were adequate but my TV had audio but no visual. The bathroom was clean, supplied, and properly equipped. The bed was nicely made and comfortable. The cost was reasonable.
It was nice when you first walk in. I dont believe I stayed because the price for one night was outrageous I think like 80 or 90 dollars. If you want a nice room and can pay to stay, by all means! Take it! I just didn't have the extra 100.00 for a night when some places around here are 200.00 for a week. But if your looking for somewhere nice and has good amenities. I believe this is the place for...
Room was very clean and comfortable. Checked for bed bugs, (as we always do,) no visible sign. You can definitely tell that they are trying to turn this place around. Which, as contractors, we understand how difficult and expensive just maintaining a motel can be in this economy. Keep up the good work.
Nice cheap place to stay. Convenient to the interstate and with in 5 to 10 minutes of shopping. Harley Dealership is right across the road along with McKay book store. Several gas stations and other amenities. Rooms are clean and management personnel are nice. However you get what you pay for. There is traffic noise but not enough to keep you up all night. Rooms are spacious but the furniture could...
