I am not used to a full concierge service hotel...it was great! The company my husband works for scheduled an employee appreciation meeting hosted at the downtown DesMoines Marriott. The location and staff were top notch and accommodating!

The wife and I delved into our music and we drove aimlessly until we got to the next biggest town from kc. The further north from KCMO we got the closer we got to Des Moines. No other reason to drive other than the nice time with the wife and some good tunes. Once we got to the Marriott we were greeted by many great employees. The shuttle driver was just amazing. We were in town for a wedding and most of the guests and wedding party stayed at this hotel. We enjoyed our stay. The bar is nice and the rooms are comfortable. Our view was fantastic. I will say that the virtual key option did not work for a few people in our group so we had to wait in line and get regular keys.

We were in town for our Great niece’s graduation 👩‍🎓 from Iowa State! We had a wonderful time!

It's a Marriott! If you have status, it's probably worth it to visit the mezzanine level for their evening food & drinks. The host is named Mary, and she's very friendly. You do pay for drinks, but the food is free and I really enjoyed the whole thing. Otherwise, the hotel is everything you would expect. Clean, helpful staff, no issues at all.

Absolutely love this place! From the minute you pull up to the valet parking you’re greeted with class. I enjoyed a beautiful corporate event here in their second floor space and it was beautiful. We also looked here as a place to hold our wedding reception; and I wish we would have! The staff was very responsive, professional, and friendly. Every time I’ve come here I’ve had a great experience.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Happy hour was awesome. Pool was great. Atrium was clean and so inviting. The rooms, however, are dirty upon arrival. The furniture all needs to be tightened up. And you HAVE to vacuum under the pull out bed. Ours was full of crackers and pop tarts....and a fake nail. Spruce the rooms up and the place would be an easy 4 stars.

Still a modern structure, this hotel property is starting to age. My room had some pretty severe damage to an interior door and was not able to be latched. It would also be nice to be able to finish chewing before your plate is whisked away. But the water features are still cool even though they make it hard to have conversations in the central atrium. Was there for a conference, and the overall experience was great. Very clean, and my room beat my expectations. My only complaints would be that the wifi isn't included with room fee, and for a hotel located in downtown, it didn't have a lot of information of things to do/see. Attended a wedding reception at Top of the Tower. It's been 29 years since I was last here for my own wedding reception. Views were beautiful and the hotel staff were wonderful. Very polite and managed the buffet & bussing of tables very well. Food was really good too! Only draw back was the room no longer rotates. That's why I gave a total of 4 stars.

For the price, you can't beat this location. Staff was exceptional. Breakfast offered many options and the room was large, comfortable, and sunny. The public areas were clean. For a two star hotel, not bad at all. It seems a little rough in the common areas but the rooms are recently renovated and are decent. They aren't offering breakfast, just fyi. Most places aren't because of supply issues, so don't expect it. Really nice and helpful staff.

I was in town for a family memebers wedding and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean not only the rooms were but the whole hotel! Staff was very personable upbeat and friendly. I have stayed here a few times and it mostly depends on which room you get. Some of them are completely fine. Others have musty, stained carpet, moldy curtains that the window unit blows into your face if you sit at the desk, shower draining and water pressure issues, and sharp exposed tacks in sections of the carpet torn up by people's pets. Great staff. I recommend this place for both short and long term stay. It has nice facilities. A swimming pool and a hot tub to serve a small family size. You can choose to go to the pool when kids turn is over. There’s a fitness center which can hold about 14 people at a time and dry sauna for sauna lovers. We enjoyed our stay here. The building could use some updating & our room was not as clean as we prefer.
