Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, Grand Rapids1 / 50Good price
Grand Rapids, 187 Monroe Northwest 🧭 Map
Hotel is exceptionally run in every aspect. Arrival, check-in staff, the rooms are spot less and top notch bedding and finishes.
Bill and his team went above and beyond to make my little girls 3rd birthday extra special and even were able to impress my teenager as well (nearly impossible these days) the room was amazing with an awesome view of Grand Rapids! Location is great. Only downfall is parking but that’s the case in all of downtown. The breakfast lady chef was also extremely personable and I was told makes a mean biscuits...
I had a deal by paying in advance, non refundable, which made it decent value for money. I read the reviews to avoid the first floor but couldn't avoid it by paying in advance, ended up being the only room available when checking in in advance... Bright hallway to the garage is the window view so bring a hair clip to close the curtains fully. Bathroom door wouldn't slide properly and couldn't close...
This hotel is one of my new favorites in GR. The rooms are beautiful, the kitchenettes are very convenient, and the staff are top notch. Whenever I had a need or issue, they worked to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. The *only* minor issue I had was that the floors are pretty squeaky, so if you’re a light sleeper, request a high floor.
Parking and access to the lobby was easy. Lobby area was well kept and room was clean. I've never seen hard wood in a hotel room. It was unique but the hallways had carpet over the hardwood which creaked when people walked by. Breakfast was yummy and buffet was well stocked.
the historical aspect of the hotel. The public areas are very well maintained and grand. The staff were friendly and courteous. live jazz in the main bar in the evening.

Greetings! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids for a business meeting, and let me tell ya, it was a real hootenanny. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities needed to get some work done. And the location was unbeatable - right in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. The quality of service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who...
This is by far the most convenient hotel in town. The facilities are always taken care of, the rooms are well maintained and the staff is always on top of things. Each time I visit Grand Rapids, I always request this hotel as my #1 option since it is convenient. I really like the fact that the parking lot is well signaled, clean, well illuminated and closer to the hotel.
Just visited the JW Marriott for the first time yesterday. I met up with a few friends on the 10th floor and shared some drinks with them. This establishment offers you a riverside view to sit back and have a few. The staff was very friendly. The location is beautiful. The views are priceless. I would most definitely recommend this establishment for long term and short term stays.
Rooms are very nice but hard mattresses. Loved the shower. The pool does not have stairs to walk in u must climb down ladder or jump. Tile is very slippery by the pool area. Limited seating. The exercise room is great. Lots of options. Need room key to work elevator. Parking in parking garage or valet option. View is great of river. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Felt safe in...
Downtown fairly easy to get to with decent river or city views. The are has some issues with homelessness and those associated types of run ins. Several restaurants within walking distance but everything closes early so actual nightlife is basic bars. Hotel has one restaurant, no room service so that is limited. Room was gorgeous however and well appointed. The hotel and area are great for corporate...
The staff was very nice and welcoming as we checked in. The bartender in the bar area was very personable as well.

We paid for a room with 2 beds and a sofa bed for 5 people. When we arrived we were placed into a room with one bed and a sofa bed. The hotel was not accommodating and treated us as this was our problem and not their problem. We accepted "the only room they have," which was 2 double beds. We had to go buy an air bed. There were enough towels blankets and pillows for 2 people. We had to request...
The welcome I received at the front desk was amazing. All the needed information was provided, and I was welcomed like a valued Honors member. Bed was amazing, room was clean, and the shower was hot. Nothing to complain about.
It's very dated. Clean but old. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy access to Airport. Free shuttle for Airport. On-site restaurant was good.
Sure, here's a review of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Grand Rapids Airport: I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Grand Rapids Airport, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The location of the hotel is undoubtedly convenient, especially if you're flying in or out of the airport. It's just a short distance away, which makes it an excellent choice for travelers. The first thing...
This is an older hotel, so there is only so much that can be done with cleanliness to old carpets & walls. However, it was decently clean. We didn’t interact with staff much but front desk staff seemed nice. We got a two queen bed room and the beds were full sized (NOT queen beds). The pillows were square and the size of couch throw pillows, so you could not move your head without adjusting the pillows...
The hotel stay itself was pretty pleasant. Staff was very accommodating, rooms were clean. Pretty much everything you'd expect from a DoubleTree. The only issue I had and it's not totally managements fault was the place was crowded with what appeared to be pee wee hockey kids and their parents. The problems were with the intoxicated parents. The loud and profane language coming from "the parents...

Ordered a king, got a queen bed instead without informing us. Good stay overall, just be aware of this oversight. Parking was weird. Stated that their garage was under construction, but I still saw cars parking in there without issue. Had to park in a basment around the block. Not a deal breaker just a very awkward walk back to the hotel. Good walking distance to anything you’d like. Bathroom was...
Great location. Staff helpful and attentive. Place clean and modern. Parking-interesting. Try to park using the entrance immediately adjacent to the hotel. Otherwise using the secondary entrance off of Fulton creates a maze to get to hotel. Rooms: it is 2024 and the room only had standard electrical outlets. Of course I forgot a charging block. Had to go to nearby convenience store to buy one...
My husband and I stayed here while in GR for a concert. The initial draw for us was that this hotel is connected to the arena via a skywalk system. Being able to so easily walk from hotel to concert and back (and stay warm in the process) makes me happy. The rooms here were comfortable and clean. Service by all the hotel staff was very good. And there's a Starbucks in the hotel, so caffeine (AKA nectar...
I grew up in the plaza apartments and it was such a glorious place when we stayed there and it has changed so much. I wish I could say for the best but the spa rooms are tiny and don't work very well. They replaced the ginormous spa rooms that could fit 12 plus people comfortably. Two spa rooms that can barely fit three people on their website it stated that everything was fully functional but when...
Excellent Staff! Prime location! Mel and Sheresse J. Are excellent servers who made my request for blue cheese stuffed olives happen. I appreciate their efforts and the kitchen staff for a great experience during my stay. The food was good, drinks tasty and beds comfy for the nights rest. Was very impressed with how well the check-in staff handled our large group. Everyone had a great smile and...
Very happy with location to local attractions, clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly service. Easy access to parking ramp.

This was my first visit and the hotel was nice and clean. The rooms were very updated and the table in the room was electronic. We were able to move the table up and down with the keys on top. Very innovative and nice.
Not quite open as of November 1st. Attended a conference and didn't have heat in my room. Rooms do not have drawers so recommend short or solo stays. Inside Starbucks was good.
I did not know that the Plaza offered an airport park and ride service. I was flying to Florida and was not looking forward to paying airport prices to park my car. So, no lie, I googled cheap airport parking and this was one of the things that popped up. Super Easy! You can pay for it online and everything. It ended up being $43 for 5 days. Anyways, you go down, park your car in the hotel lot...
Location is a fairly busy area, with shopping center and restaurants in the vicinity. Rooms are very clean with good WiFi speeds. The pool is indoor and outdoor, featuring an indoor hot tub. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The airport shuttle runs on a regular schedule, which is helpful for planning purposes.
Staff is not well trained. They had trouble cancelling my second night. Had already planned to move to a different hotel so this just confirmed my decision. Hot tub not working in pool area. Pool area not picked up regularly and littered with wet towels and dirty dishes. No fridge in room, just empty space in cabinet where it belongs. Many little things not maintained. Moved to Holiday Inn Express...
Nice hotel with comfortable rooms and a beautiful pool area that is indoor/outdoor. We we're at a banquet and thought it was a great venue. My only complaint was the banquet food. My London Broil was disgusting. A big grisly, tough mess I literally had to saw with a steak knife to dissect out the edible parts. Other than that it was a fine stay

We recently stayed here for a few weeks while we waited for our house to be ready. I found it to be a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and nice sized. They have a microwave and a mini fridge, which I found to be very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are some renovations ongoing, but nothing that bothered us at all. There is a light breakfast in the morning, which is great to...
The staff is very friendly and attentive to guest’s needs!!! I let them know about a maintenance issue. This issue did not affect my stay, but they still sent a maintenance person to fix it. Our room was outdated and the chair needed to be reupholstered. There were holes in it and it was visibly worn: The biggest issue I had with the room is the floors. The floors are hard wood, which wouldn’t be...
+Customer service at front desk was great! +/- rooms were very clean. You can see that they're updating, but still have a little ways to go. AC unit worked great and no carpet in room. + location was great everything I needed was there food, shopping, and gym 💪. I would go back again.
The front desk manager Kathleen is really patient, very helpful, quick and just all around amazing. I loved this hotel. You can tell management really tries to keep it nice and updated even though it’s a little older. The staff are so friendly and nice! The bed was really comfortable. I loved that there was a little Starbucks downstairs. I wish I would have had time to use the pool, but maybe next time! Excellent price and close to everything.
Room had modern amenities and staff was courteous - allowed early check-in and provided recommendations for local eats. Only downside was that we found some leftovers in the fridge from a previous guest, so the thoroughness of cleaning may be up for question. Otherwise good quality/service for price paid.
To be honest I wanted to give five stars. Room was great. Very clean and modern updates done to the hotel(clearly an older place but they have stepped up to maintain it and keep it modern). The issues I had were in the staff at the restaurant. Went in for a drink and got handed a very watered down crown and Coke and was charged way more then it was worth and had to flag down a server when the place...
What a nice hotel. Visiting from Chicago and stayed here last night when visiting my friends. Updated and clean! Jalin at the front desk was friendly and went above and beyond. Highly recommend this hotel. Good price and great hotel!
Really beautiful hotel at a great price. A modern touch with the furniture and just feels brand new. The staff was super friendly and accomdating, they also allowed my wife and I to check in early since we are not from the area, and had no place to hang out until the normal check in times. I am very appreciative for that!! The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel has a bar, which serves delicious...
Aesthetically it is very nice. The woman I checked in with was very kind and pleasant. Asked in person at the front desk from the night guy for some linens for pullout couch for my kids. They politely obliged, but never brought them. I had to remove two sheets from the bed for them to sleep with. Bathrooms had no vent fans, which is not cool. The shower did not drain. That's kind of gross...

This location was near family friends and near to the things that we wanted to do while here! It was easy to get to and everything was so nice.
This hotel is spacious, clean, and convenient. We especially enjoyed the bar/restaurant on the evening of a cold night when we didn’t want to venture out. our party of three had a burger, a chicken sandwich, and a beyond burger and all were very well prepared. They came with a side of vegetables, fruit, or fries, and those were excellent also. So rare to get a nice vegetable in a hotel bar! Out hats...
Newer hotel with clean rooms and good amenities for the price. Indoor pool with indoor outdoor hot tub was very nice. Good hotel gym option. Very nice breakfast option as well. Was traveling with a large group kids and adults and everyone was very pleased with their stay. Staff was very accommodating with anything that was needed. Would stay again.
The room was nice, but it did not come with a remote control for the TV in the room. I was told that the maintenance staff had gone home for the day. After talking to them a bit, the front desk was eventually able to find us one. The digital key is a cool concept, but in practice it required holding the phone to the door and retrying it several times before it worked.
My husband & I stayed at this Hilton this past weekend for a family Grand Rapids weekend and could not have been more pleased with the hotel and staff. Debbie at the front desk was absolutely amazing and kind! She went out of her way to be sure our stay was the best it could possibly be!! One of the nicer hotels in Grand Rapids! Nice and helpful staff, very clean rooms (microwave, mini fridge without freezer, iron, ironing board, soaps and mouthwash), easy-to-find things in general (ice machine right elevator on each floor, pool and inside/outside hot tub on first floor). Great view, great location, great service, ok rooms. My problem with the room we got is that the bathroom door is a sliding one and not a normal door, which is a good idea in theory... but there is a pretty big gap in it which reduces privacy. There was also a shelf that the microwave was on that wasn't in the best shape, but other than that it was a great room and great experience. Breakfast from...
The rooms were great. The service was great. The pool and hot tub were excellent. It would have been nice to have towels stocked and not have too ask for a towel everytime we needed one. The free breakfast was okay. They were out of a lot items, orange juice, kiwi strawberry, milk, bacon, bagels.
I had a nice stay at this hotel last week. Rooms were nice and clean, the view from the room was nice, and the staff were friendly. My only issue was on some days there was no hot breakfast options without ham/bacon. I spoke to the staff and they were apologetic but said there's nothing they could do about it. It's not a big deal but would be nice if there was options for everyone. Other than that...
Our family member experienced a medical emergency and we needed a place to stay close to the Spectrum Hospital complex. We chose the Hampton Inn for its location. We were pleased to be offered a discount due to having a family member at the hospital and were impressed by the size of the rooms. The coffee and tea service in the lobby and the rooms was a nice touch. The hot and cold breakfast options...
It was a great stay. Excellent service, kind staff for the most part. Bed was so comfortable, great view, fun hot tub, location perfect for the two venues we visited. Only issue was the terrible hot breakfast. Eggs and hash browns were cold, flavorless, and just terrible. Waffle machine was ancient and had no alarm to warn when finished.I was shocked that this beautiful hotel would have such an aweful...

The hotel is about a ten minute ride from the airport. It's convenient for staying at when traveling to Grand Rapids and you desire a hotel with an airport shuttle. The rooms are larger than needed and very comfortable. Pricing is good too. Overall a great IHG property.
Very happy! Our room was very clean, and the sheets and duvet were amazingly soft. We had a double queen room and it was very spacious for our family with a really nice counter with a microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. One of the nicer Holiday Inns to stay at. Close to the airport, clean rooms, many amenities, and nearby many microbreweries that are part of the Beer City program. Will definitely be back in the future!
Hands down, this is probably one of the best Holiday Inns I have stayed at. It’s very sharp, clean, and modern looking. It’s very well lighted and the rooms are spacious. The hotel staff are also very nice and helpful. So, it’s highly recommended!

Stayed at this hotel for my cousins wedding and the services were very nice ! Would give a 5/5 on all parts but someone did accidentally leave leftovers in our fridge and found a nerve dart by the head board of a bed which both made us chuckle so not a big deal. All staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and exceptionally clean! Breakfast buffet was kept stocked with plenty of options both hot and cold. Pool area was very nice, both pool and hot tub were clean. We visit the area several times a year and this will definitely be our #1 place to stay.
I am pretty picky about hotels. Getting a bad hotel is always a bad experience BUT this hotel was pretty good! The hot tub and pool were open. Fantastic experience from cookies and tea at the front desk to the best continental breakfast I’ve had in the last few years! The staff brought up a roll away and were incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay! The pool and hot tub could have been cleaner, but I’m sure it’s only because I went late in the evening. Would most certainly return! :)

The Hilton Canopy GR is one of my favorite hotels in the area! It is modern, clean, and in a prime location! I have stayed here several times now, and each time, it has been a great experience! The Hilton brand is definitely becoming one of my favorite hotel brands over Marriott.
Had to leave a review. My now wife and I were just married this past weekend. They upgraded us to an absolutely gorgeous suite, no charge! The decor was tasteful, it was in immaculate condition, and was full of amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even the manager took the time to ensure everything was perfect with our stay. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.
We just got married this weekend and stayed at the Canopy! I cannot say enough good things! The hotel was so unique and beautiful! The staff was wonderful and made us feel so special - truly amazing!
Great experience at the Canopy! Staff was very friendly and accommodating especially during check-in as we had a pet but the process was easy and smooth. The rooms were very spacious, modern, and updated. Our room had a Bluetooth mirror which was cool even though we didn’t have time to play around with it. We went to the rooftop bar and service was great there too. This hotel is in a perfect location...
Great location, super clean, the friendliest staff, and very chic interior. I thought the rooms could have been a bit more well appointed - we noticed the absence of basics like dirty clothes bags and larger items like microwaves and mini fridges. Would definitely return but made traveling with small kids a little harder. Better for couples, I think.
I really appreciated that you had a bicycle for me to borrow because I did not have a car. Helmet and bike lock too. Very nice.

The perfect location for what we needed. Had a pup with us, the pet fee was 25 opposed to 75 everywhere else, plus free parking downtown! The staff was amazing, and breakfast the best deal around. The room was clean and the beds super comfortable. Highly recommend!!
Rooms were excellent. staff was very helpful and friendly. Bumped into the night janitor and she was very kind, showed me the pool room and asked me if I needed help with anything else. I would definitely stay here again in the future!
This is definitely a get what you pay for hotel. The room was incredibly small but it got the job done. Overall the room was okay. I didn't love that there were spider webs in the corners of the rooms with dead spiders in them, and also the fact there was no extra roll of toilet paper. The conjoining room door has about an half inch of space under it which was enough to hear our neighbors clearly as...

The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was average. However, there was a poor wifi signal, the bathroom door was broken, the few electrical outlets were in poor shape. Three hours after we were in our room, at 10:30 PM, management was knocking at our door to tell us that they didn't know anyone was in our room.
Stayed during the week after a long drive from the East coast. First room I was assigned had a strong smoke odor, despite being a non smoking hotel. Super nice room and awesome staff. Perfect location for eating out or buying to eat in because there are tons of options. Lost one star because the gold out bed is aweful. I complain because I had to sleep on it. Otherwise this place is fantastic.
Very lovely place. It is well maintained. It wasn't hard to find. The staff was nice and friendly. The rooms where nice and clean which is always a worry of mine. But not for this place =)
Rooms were nice and clean, house keeping service always on time. The breakfast was quite good but nothing to write home I guess. The front desk was quick and helpful, had no problem with us doing a late checkout, which is nice.
The price is fair. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is I noticed a small spot of drywall buckling in the shower from moisture and the carpet in the halls seems a bit worn and dated. My beds were much smaller then I usually get, but I did reserve double beds. Just used to places these days referring to queen as double. Can't fault them for that. They were comfortable, eventough small.

BOOKED and PAID for queen & 2 double-bed suite 36 days in advance. Was given the wrong room. When asked for the room I paid for, management said no. Then, another person in the party talked to management and they changed our room right away. This was embarrassing and very disrespectful...
Very nice room, I loved the comfortable, chaise lounge sectional sofa for TV watching, restful bed/pillows, great shower, nice kitchenette... But the some public areas need some intense cleaning... Carpet was grimy looking, elevator smelled really BAD, like mustard/vinegar the entire time. It was nauseating. Also, the breakfast was horrible... The waffle batter was way too thin, making bitter tasting...
I was pleasantly surprised the complimentary salad bar and breakfast the next morning had so many options and food was tasty. Pool and loungers were nice. Room was comfy and had everything I needed. 4 stars because I could hear people walking around at 2am and 4am, not sure how to better soundproof rooms but this was the only negative.

They have been accommodating for my stay at the hotel. I was in the area working on night shift and had to sleep during the time they do room cleanings, I worked with the people at the front desk and they managed to make my room first priority next morning just as I got if work. I like there is a variety of hot and non cooked items. I also like the hours, 6-10 AM. Room was very nice and clean.
Rooms are decent. Mattresses are not amazing but decent. Should have a fan in the bathroom. There is no air circulation when showering. Whomever was staying above us was loud and stomping on the floor late at night and early morning. Staff was very friendly and breakfast is amazing there.
Nice hotel. Nolan, Alexis and Crystal took good care of us and gave us personalized service. They also keep things clean and in order. We felt very at home during our stay.

This place has been great the older women who does breakfast is so sweet. They have free laundry here and will give you detergent and dryer sheets! The morning cleaning crew has also been great with minor cleaning for my week stay. The pool and hot tub are always open and clean. I went down with my 6 month old and had the pool to ourselves. Not knowing where I was staying was SUPER excited to see the exhibit we were going too was right around the corner. We had the room right off the lobby and right next too the ice machine and slept like babies!! Room was extremely comfortable and quiet!
Clean, convenient location, comfy beds and pillows, good breakfast and coffee, reasonable pricing, staff present and helpful
Decent. Room had a really nice layout and the people working here were nice too. The breakfast choices were good but they ran out of a few things like oatmeal. The property seems new but there were a few things that felt like management may not be paying attention. I think my favorite thing was the room.
Nice rooms, clean halls, elevator has a weird smell but people are great. Breakfast was great. Breakfast bagels and next day egg and cheese omelettes. One complaint is they should have a laundry room in building
Everything was wonderful, hotel was very simple and clean. However, the receptionist at the front lobby door was unprofessional. For example in the evening and nightime, she was on the phone laughing loud, walking around all over, hid in the back of reception desk and just obtained very unprofessional mannerisms. Honestly, I observed this in the lobby table area and I was nervous that anyone could...
The website and the staff notified us the hotel was currently being remodeled. We weren't bothered by any of the work, they scheduled the project to cause minimal disruption to guests. The room was nice and everything was clean. The person at the front desk was accommodating and offered a Pack 'n Play for our toddler. I was happy with our stay here, and I will choose this location again.
