Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, Grand Rapids1 / 38Good price
Grand Rapids, 187 Monroe Northwest 🧭 Map
Hotel is exceptionally run in every aspect. Arrival, check-in staff, the rooms are spot less and top notch bedding and finishes.
Bill and his team went above and beyond to make my little girls 3rd birthday extra special and even were able to impress my teenager as well (nearly impossible these days) the room was amazing with an awesome view of Grand Rapids! Location is great. Only downfall is parking but that’s the case in all of downtown. The breakfast lady chef was also extremely personable and I was told makes a mean biscuits...
I had a deal by paying in advance, non refundable, which made it decent value for money. I read the reviews to avoid the first floor but couldn't avoid it by paying in advance, ended up being the only room available when checking in in advance... Bright hallway to the garage is the window view so bring a hair clip to close the curtains fully. Bathroom door wouldn't slide properly and couldn't close...
This hotel is one of my new favorites in GR. The rooms are beautiful, the kitchenettes are very convenient, and the staff are top notch. Whenever I had a need or issue, they worked to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. The *only* minor issue I had was that the floors are pretty squeaky, so if you’re a light sleeper, request a high floor.
Parking and access to the lobby was easy. Lobby area was well kept and room was clean. I've never seen hard wood in a hotel room. It was unique but the hallways had carpet over the hardwood which creaked when people walked by. Breakfast was yummy and buffet was well stocked.
the historical aspect of the hotel. The public areas are very well maintained and grand. The staff were friendly and courteous. live jazz in the main bar in the evening.

This was my first visit and the hotel was nice and clean. The rooms were very updated and the table in the room was electronic. We were able to move the table up and down with the keys on top. Very innovative and nice.
Not quite open as of November 1st. Attended a conference and didn't have heat in my room. Rooms do not have drawers so recommend short or solo stays. Inside Starbucks was good.
I did not know that the Plaza offered an airport park and ride service. I was flying to Florida and was not looking forward to paying airport prices to park my car. So, no lie, I googled cheap airport parking and this was one of the things that popped up. Super Easy! You can pay for it online and everything. It ended up being $43 for 5 days. Anyways, you go down, park your car in the hotel lot...
Location is a fairly busy area, with shopping center and restaurants in the vicinity. Rooms are very clean with good WiFi speeds. The pool is indoor and outdoor, featuring an indoor hot tub. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The airport shuttle runs on a regular schedule, which is helpful for planning purposes.
Staff is not well trained. They had trouble cancelling my second night. Had already planned to move to a different hotel so this just confirmed my decision. Hot tub not working in pool area. Pool area not picked up regularly and littered with wet towels and dirty dishes. No fridge in room, just empty space in cabinet where it belongs. Many little things not maintained. Moved to Holiday Inn Express...
Nice hotel with comfortable rooms and a beautiful pool area that is indoor/outdoor. We we're at a banquet and thought it was a great venue. My only complaint was the banquet food. My London Broil was disgusting. A big grisly, tough mess I literally had to saw with a steak knife to dissect out the edible parts. Other than that it was a fine stay

This location was near family friends and near to the things that we wanted to do while here! It was easy to get to and everything was so nice.
This hotel is spacious, clean, and convenient. We especially enjoyed the bar/restaurant on the evening of a cold night when we didn’t want to venture out. our party of three had a burger, a chicken sandwich, and a beyond burger and all were very well prepared. They came with a side of vegetables, fruit, or fries, and those were excellent also. So rare to get a nice vegetable in a hotel bar! Out hats...
Newer hotel with clean rooms and good amenities for the price. Indoor pool with indoor outdoor hot tub was very nice. Good hotel gym option. Very nice breakfast option as well. Was traveling with a large group kids and adults and everyone was very pleased with their stay. Staff was very accommodating with anything that was needed. Would stay again.
The room was nice, but it did not come with a remote control for the TV in the room. I was told that the maintenance staff had gone home for the day. After talking to them a bit, the front desk was eventually able to find us one. The digital key is a cool concept, but in practice it required holding the phone to the door and retrying it several times before it worked.
My husband & I stayed at this Hilton this past weekend for a family Grand Rapids weekend and could not have been more pleased with the hotel and staff. Debbie at the front desk was absolutely amazing and kind! She went out of her way to be sure our stay was the best it could possibly be!! Having food, the bar, being in a quiet location, a balcony and many other amenities at the hotel made it a terrific...
One of the nicer hotels in Grand Rapids! Nice and helpful staff, very clean rooms (microwave, mini fridge without freezer, iron, ironing board, soaps and mouthwash), easy-to-find things in general (ice machine right elevator on each floor, pool and inside/outside hot tub on first floor). Pool and hot tub are well maintained. There's 2 timer dials for the hot tub to activate the jets. Towels available...

Ordered a king, got a queen bed instead without informing us. Good stay overall, just be aware of this oversight. Parking was weird. Stated that their garage was under construction, but I still saw cars parking in there without issue. Had to park in a basment around the block. Not a deal breaker just a very awkward walk back to the hotel. Good walking distance to anything you’d like. Bathroom was...
Great location. Staff helpful and attentive. Place clean and modern. Parking-interesting. Try to park using the entrance immediately adjacent to the hotel. Otherwise using the secondary entrance off of Fulton creates a maze to get to hotel. Rooms: it is 2024 and the room only had standard electrical outlets. Of course I forgot a charging block. Had to go to nearby convenience store to buy one...
My husband and I stayed here while in GR for a concert. The initial draw for us was that this hotel is connected to the arena via a skywalk system. Being able to so easily walk from hotel to concert and back (and stay warm in the process) makes me happy. The rooms here were comfortable and clean. Service by all the hotel staff was very good. And there's a Starbucks in the hotel, so caffeine (AKA nectar...
I grew up in the plaza apartments and it was such a glorious place when we stayed there and it has changed so much. I wish I could say for the best but the spa rooms are tiny and don't work very well. They replaced the ginormous spa rooms that could fit 12 plus people comfortably. Two spa rooms that can barely fit three people on their website it stated that everything was fully functional but when...
Excellent Staff! Prime location! Mel and Sheresse J. Are excellent servers who made my request for blue cheese stuffed olives happen. I appreciate their efforts and the kitchen staff for a great experience during my stay. The food was good, drinks tasty and beds comfy for the nights rest. Was very impressed with how well the check-in staff handled our large group. Everyone had a great smile and...
Very happy with location to local attractions, clean room and comfortable bed. Friendly service. Easy access to parking ramp.

This is a great location with easy parking. The breakfast is a good value—sit down (not a buffet) withe delicious offerings. Our waitress was exceptional!
Hotel was fairly quiet. My room selection was fulfilled per my preferences specified on my IHG account and was the largest type in the hotel. The discounted breakfast we purchased at check-in was very good, and the service was excellent. There were plenty of places to plug in equipment and charge cellphones. The room was clean and comfortable, and everything was in good working order. The front desk...
The perfect location for what we needed. Had a pup with us, the pet fee was 25 opposed to 75 everywhere else, plus free parking downtown! The staff was amazing, and breakfast the best deal around. The room was clean and the beds super comfortable. Highly recommend!!
Rooms were excellent. staff was very helpful and friendly. Bumped into the night janitor and she was very kind, showed me the pool room and asked me if I needed help with anything else. I would definitely stay here again in the future!
This is definitely a get what you pay for hotel. The room was incredibly small but it got the job done. Overall the room was okay. I didn't love that there were spider webs in the corners of the rooms with dead spiders in them, and also the fact there was no extra roll of toilet paper. The conjoining room door has about an half inch of space under it which was enough to hear our neighbors clearly as...
I was here on business. It was a great experience. Service was great. My room on the 8th floor had a view to Pearl Street so I could peek out my window and see what was going on. Nice bar to sit or grab a drink and go back to your room. Parking easy. Restaurant inside. Good fish tacos!

BOOKED and PAID for queen & 2 double-bed suite 36 days in advance. Was given the wrong room. When asked for the room I paid for, management said no. After 10 minutes of talking to management they still refused to honor our booking continuing to state they were overbooked. Then, another person in the party talked to management and they changed our room right away. This was embarrassing and very disrespectful...
Very nice room, I loved the comfortable, chaise lounge sectional sofa for TV watching, restful bed/pillows, great shower, nice kitchenette... But the some public areas need some intense cleaning... Carpet was grimy looking, elevator smelled really BAD, like mustard/vinegar the entire time. It was nauseating. Also, the breakfast was horrible... The waffle batter was way too thin, making bitter tasting...
I was pleasantly surprised the complimentary salad bar and breakfast the next morning had so many options and food was tasty. Pool and loungers were nice. Room was comfy and had everything I needed. 4 stars because I could hear people walking around at 2am and 4am, not sure how to better soundproof rooms but this was the only negative.
Had a rocky start with my reservation but MG understood my need and went above and beyond to get me into an acceptable alternative!!! The appreciation from this tired Mommy after a 10 hr drive can't be put in words. Breakfast was really good! Make your own Belgian waffles with all the fixings. Super cute mini omelettes with toppings. Great pool & hot tub! Simple rooms, but perfectly clean and serviceable
They have been accommodating for my stay at the hotel. I was in the area working on night shift and had to sleep during the time they do room cleanings, I worked with the people at the front desk and they managed to make my room first priority next morning just as I got if work. It has been a bit noisy due to the renovations. I wish they had a better set of cookware VS the random assortment of ones...
Really a beautiful establishment. Reasonably priced considering it is in East Grand Rapids. Beautiful breakfast not just crummy Bagels

I like there is a variety of hot and non cooked items. I also like the hours, 6-10 AM. Room was very nice and clean.
Rooms are decent. Mattresses are not amazing but decent. Should have a fan in the bathroom. There is no air circulation when showering. Whomever was staying above us was loud and stomping on the floor late at night and early morning. Staff was very friendly and breakfast is amazing there.
Nice hotel. Nolan, Alexis and Crystal took good care of us and gave us personalized service. They also keep things clean and in order. We felt very at home during our stay.
Stayed here for 8 days with my 2 kids for Junior Gold and we couldn’t of been happier with our decision. The location is surrounded by a ton of places to eat and shop. The employees were always nice and helpful. All the facilities worked(pool, exercise room), the comp express breakfast was on point. Food was delicious and always had plenty to choose from. The cafe lady was amazing! She works so hard...
This place has been great the older women who does breakfast is so sweet. They have free laundry here and will give you detergent and dryer sheets! The morning cleaning crew has also been great with minor cleaning for my week stay. The pool and hot tub are always open and clean. I went down with my 6 month old and had the pool to ourselves. Very calming. I recommend the King suit.
I have stayed here a couple of times. I can always expect a great service with a clean room. The fitness room is just ok.

Very clean rooms, tasteful/modern aesthetics, and very friendly staff. I would absolutely stay here again.
I had a team meeting here and it worked out great. We came in the night before, spent the night, and had our meeting the next day. Scheduling with Evan was seamless and made all the right suggestions to help with our stay and meeting. We'll be back.
Location was good, near stores and restaurants. Room and service was fine. They had pool and breakfast but I didn't use those services, just used the room to shower and sleep.
This hotel is average. It is clean and the rooms and beds were nice. The breakfast was typical of a free hotel breakfast. The breakfast room is small but I had breakfast early and there was enough room. The pool is also very small. If you are traveling with children who want to swim just be aware of the small size. There were probably 10 kids in the pool when I was there and that was about it...
This is the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff was super friendly. The hotel seemed to be pretty full but it was surprisingly quiet. I will stay here whenever I visit Grand Rapids.
Absolutely love the staff! Sherry has been wonderful with my kids and myself! Very polite makes sure we are comfortable, goes over and beyond to help in every way! Went outta her way to move our room so my 3 year old wouldn’t bother neighbors or cause complaints! Thank you so much!!!

I would give 5 stars but breakfast was a little late due to someone not making it. Besides that this was a wonderful experience. Staff was super friendly and did what they could when they released the person didn't make it into work. The price was amazing. I tried staying at the hotel next door but because the pool was down I went here and don't regret it.
Front desk agent Teresa, was very professional and welcoming! Such a positive check-in experience. It was an older Fairfield, so could use some updates. My room was clean, quiet, and comfortable bed. Overall I would stay there again.
Great value! I mean seriously... I didn't book the hotel so when I saw the price, I was a bit nervous. It's in a great location, the Executive Suite had the amenities you need, the staff was insanely friendly and helpful. I can't give it 5* because of two reasons: *1: the elevator was broken the entire 3 days I spent there *2: some obnoxious kids left a mess in the hallway on Saturday night and it...
This review is specifically for the Accessible Room on the first floor. Clean and spacious, linens seemed stained and older, but clean. Bathroom was well set up and had the movable shower seat. Very clean! The room hasn't been updated in awhile, but gets the job done. You can hear the pool echoing during the day, but quiets down once people leave for the night. Service was great! Woman at the front...
The staff here makes this place. Very nice employees. While staying in Grand Rapids we made reservations here at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. My observations were that the rooms were fairly updated. The Cleanliness was not as good as I'd hoped. The bedspreads had dark staining almost like makeup (see photos) the refrigerator had previous guests items in it still. The Bodywash in the shower was empty...
The room was nice. I liked having a separate room with another tv. The fridge was enough for us to store a few drinks that we picked up while out. Only about 15 minutes to near by restaurant and breweries. Plus the price difference to not stay downtown was staggering. I wish the gym would have been nicer and the breakfast was open earlier. Overall very nice though.

Breakfast was good . The kitchen was perfect for my bodybuilding show I did . Staff was super friendly. Next time I stay in Grand Rapids I will stay here 100%. I was impressed with the nicer newer modern look of the rooms too !
Emma was super amazing. Anything I wanted I was treated like VIP. I love it here. The fireplace, hot tube and pool. Is beyond my expectations. I am so pleased.
What can I say....this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I have stayed at many 3 star and 4 and 5 star hotels for work and leisure. The room is perfect for a couple with kids to by your self. It is very cozy from the couch to the bed. Like all hotels there are things that is just there like the bed be broke in or dated and bathrooms have there quirks. This is really a 4 star hotel with...
We stayed in the queen studio suite and it was a very comfortable room to stay in! Our towels were so plush and fresh. We thought the ability to swivel the TV was a nice touch to the room layout! The full sized fridge and well stocked kitchen supplies were also very helpful. Check in was easy and quick! Our room was right next to the stairs and it was loud at times, it sounded like guests were running...
It's a nice cozy place. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Full kitchen. It's conveniently located next to couple of restaurants and across the street from a shopping center. Haven't faced any issues while staying here. Recommended.
The pool is nice, the staff is extremely friendly, the rooms have a full kitchen and if you feel like eating out there is a array of restaurants less than a mile away. The only down side is that the gym is small and the basketball court only has 1 hoop and ball.
