The rooms are big. I don’t always have a room with a Manhattan view but I’d defiantly pay extra for that if I could.
Getting into Manhattan is easy- a short walk to the PATH train and one stop to vibrant West Village (one of my favourite areas in Manhattan).
When I pointed out the inconsistencies in her statements, she finally expedited the process. At one point, she falsely claimed the room was occupied by another guest with an extended stay, only to later admit it was unoccupied. Her attitude was dismissive and lacked empathy, which was especially frustrating given our situation.
While the rest of the staff has been courteous and helpful, Melissa’s behavior was unprofessional and does not reflect the level of service we expect from Hilton. I hope steps are taken to ensure better training in customer service and communication going forward.
Rooms are ok … bathrooms needs major renovation, they don’t replenish tea in the room, stingy with water for Gold members … etc
If you’re looking for some nice treatment don’t do this, it could be a functional location for a night or so!
The food and bar on-site are both solid, offering quality options. The concession area is a bit pricey—$10.00 for a Smartwater, for example—but the Hilton Honors Food & Beverage credit ($15.00 per person, for up to two guests) easily offset those costs.
The NYC skyline views from the 14th floor were absolutely stunning, especially on a clear day!
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. It’s a great alternative to staying in New York City itself—offering much more affordable rates, safe and convenient self-parking, and excellent service.
