I recently attended the Nutcracker ballet-themed tea at the Langham Huntington, Pasadena, and it was an unforgettable experience! Although the event date has passed, I highly recommend everyone to keep an eye out for early 2025 when Peter Pan will be featured. The Nutcracker tea was held in the magnificent Viennese Ballroom, where we were treated to a lovely abridged performance by the Pasadena Civic...
If you like East LA on the posh side then it's ok. I used to stay there regularly twice per year with my family. Ask for pool access rooms (which are basically regular rooms around the pool on ground floor). I prefer lawn access rooms which open out to the hotel's lawn. It's basically ground level, but rooms I had were bigger. 2 adults + 2 kids no problem.
beautiful setting, comfortable beds, old style charm
I would say it’s a good 4 star property, not a 5 star. Our classic room was a bit old, but nice with great mountain views. The overall service in the restaurants was also good. The hotel is not super kids friendly, as the only two high chairs at The Terrace were both broken and unsafe and the plugs in the room couldn’t be closed (the special door was broken). Otherwise we are content with our stay...
I booked one room with two beds. They were renovating the room, then they upgraded us to two rooms. We stayed 3 nights during Thanksgiving holiday. Huge rooms. Rooms we stayed were a little outdated, but the bed was very comfortable. Very nice environment. So peaceful. Great service. Will stay again.
The service in every situation was outstanding as was the catered dinners. Don't miss the Terrace or the Tap Room!! Loved the bed and the gorgeous Italian Marble bathrooms! It was spendy but the service was worth every penny.

I loved it here! Great location for my needs. Friendly service, great pool atmosphere and great continental breakfast! I would stay here again! Quiet and great value!
Definitely retro back to the 60s vibe going on here. Clean rooms and a great experience. It's no St.Regis but pulling in here really takes you back decades. The faucets all remind me of my childhood. If you want a clean nostalgic motor inn, this is it.
I stay here every year when I run the Rose Bowl Half Marathon. The rooms are a bit dated (like me), but charming (I hope like me). Very clean, convenient parking and pleasant lobby. Definitely reminds me of California in the 1960's (in a good way). Very nice and helpful staff. Quiet at night.
About a year ago we found the Saga Motor Hotel. We were in Pasadena, it was late and we needed a place to stay. Instead of getting on our cellphones and inquiring through hotel apps we drove down Colorado Blvd. and saw the Saga neon sign and noticed the hotel looked very vintage, inviting and quaint. We inquired at the desk and was given a room by the swimming pool at a good price. The room was spacious...
If you have not stayed in an older hotel then you may find the experience eye opening. The decor and the atmosphere takes you back in time. The room key is an actual key. With that being said our stay was pleasant and it offered a nostalgic feeling I have not had in a long time. Property is quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again.
Very nice staff. Centrally located. Large clean rooms. Good coffee. Interesting History. Comparatively affordable.

It felt more like staying at a friend's place rather than a b&b. The house is magnificent and has a lot of charme. Will is a great host and makes one feel welcome from beginning to end. Also, I enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Highly recommend this place.
This bed and breakfast has all that you need for a couple’s getaway! Romance, cleanliness, coziness and wonderful snacks, drinks and of course breakfast. We stayed in the Prince Albert room and loved wandering the grounds, having tea, cuddling up with games and enjoying the claw foot tub. My better half loved this surprise trip so much he suggested making it a tradition. We will most definitely be...
I had the loveliest solo staycation at the Bissell House. From the moment I stepped through the door, I truly felt at a home away from home! Exploring the beautiful grounds, reading in the library, and relaxing by the pool were all made even better by the plentiful complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks. I felt transported to a storybook world in the midst of the beautiful vintage furnishings of this...
This bed and breakfast was so dreamy! We stayed here for a one night staycation and I wish we could’ve stayed longer. We came on a hot weekend so we spent most of our day lounging by the pool which was just what we were looking for. We didn’t need to do anything for check-in, our key was already in our room. We also spent the evening sitting in the library (which is beautiful) going through the books...
My husband and I just stayed at Bissell House for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The home is beautiful and immaculately kept. We stayed in the Anna Bissell room which was spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and thoughtfully prepared. It included freshly squeezed orange juice, smoothies, and delicious homemade lemon curd...
The Bissell House was the gorgeous getaway Mom and I needed! The home is stunningly furnished and adorned with antiques do the eye candy is endless. The bed mattresses and linens are luxury quality and we slept so comfortably! The breakfast was lovingly home cooked and served hot and fresh. "This stay was great! The hotel is conveniently located, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service staff is warm and thoughtful. The facilities are complete, the breakfast is rich and delicious, and the price-performance ratio is very high. I will definitely choose this hotel next time I come to the United States. I highly recommend it!"
very good location for visiting Pasadena
Good location and the front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Has all the typical amenities you need
The room is quite big, the sanitation is good, there is a refrigerator, microwave, non-smoking room. There are plenty of parking spaces in the yard, and the breakfast is simple and self-service, with instant noodles. It is about 30 minutes to Universal Studios, and it is about the same distance to watch NBA. It feels like a relatively safe area.
Somehow I booked the room with my kid's name, who is only 8 years old, and we ware not allowed to check in. Good thing is after the communication with both trip.com and the hotel, all of us agree to cancel the booking, and funny thing is the hotel offers a much higher price for us to book again. That was 11:30PM, with a whole family in a city which is our first time to be there.
Our experience with the Howard Johnson has been exceptional with such great quality service! The manager Tommy has been very great and supportive with accommodations pertaining to our family needs in selecting the best room, and receiving the best service. Housekeeping is great, efficient and very kind. Whenever you’re looking for a quality hotel that’s very reasonable in price, The Howard Johnson...

The room was better than expected, with a motel-like layout, a large yard and two-story rooms. The breakfast was excellent, and the service was perfect, especially the Chinese girl at the front desk, who helped me find earplugs and sent them to the room, for which I was particularly grateful.
It's average, a bit noisy on the main road
Arrived late by car, it has two floors, breakfast, service and hygiene are all very good
The room is OK, the breakfast is good, it should be cheap and good value for money. It can't be compared with high-end hotels, this is something to pay attention to, after all, you get what you pay for! In short: affordable
Overall it was good, except that the bed sheets and quilt covers were not changed. I contacted the front desk and they changed them very quickly.
The surrounding security is good and parking is convenient, just outside the room door. Complete facilities and friendly front desk service. The breakfast is rich in variety and delicious. There is a laundry room, but there is a fee for coin-operated washing and drying.

A normal motel. The breakfast area is only open on weekends, but on weekdays you get a box of bread and other treats. Also, the microwave is outside the room. There's a supermarket nearby, so the location is good.
Said that the price of the room I booked is high. There is a balcony view on the second floor. I want a room on the first floor for the convenience of carrying luggage in the car. The price on the first floor without a balcony is cheap. It is always possible to exchange the expensive price I have paid for a cheap room Bar? No, I was asked to pay $5 to change the room. It's really unreasonable. If I...
Stayed a night here prior to attending a UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. No frills but perfectly comfortable for my wife and I and our son. Air conditioner worked well, and the pool and hot tub were fun. Drive to the Rose Bowl was 5-10 minutes tops.
I'm sure all of our experiences are different. I had no issues with this hotel. Front staff was friendly. We did have to pay $20 for early check in (check in at 2, but arrived at 12. $10 every hour). The room was clean, third floor gave us a small view of the street and mountains in the morning. It was quiet, it was very busy but people stayed to themselves. Excellent service, very clean and private 👌 I stayed at this hotel 4 times I very happy with the service,

The room was nice and clean and there was plenty of parking. They were accommodating and let me check in an hour early. Bed was comfortable and shower was HUGE...I take my hat off to the cleaning people that have to clean that shower. Will stay again should the opportunity arise.
There's a $50 deposit for incidentals, which was not listed on Expedia. I like to budget my trips accordingly and I would like to be made aware of additional charges beforehand. Other than that minor discrepancy, my stay was great and comfortable. I really liked my room as well as the swimming pool being open. However, I did not go swimming due to watching college football on TV. Numerous cable channels...
If price is your main concern, this is a good choice in the Pasadena area. If you can afford it, you may want to spend more and get more amenities. I was satisfied!

It's fine Sparse accommodations. And a bit noisy. But, if you need a clean room and shower for 1 or 2 day the price was right.
Good short cheap stay Wonderful affordable motel in Pasadena. Very clean and very comfortable.
When I booked the room, I added more than 100 yuan and was told that there were three breakfasts included. The next day, I searched the entire hotel but there was no restaurant. When I asked the waiter, he said that the hotel did not provide breakfast service at all. I wonder what Ctrip is doing? The bed sheets in the guest rooms are really black, I can't praise them! The parking is tight and a little uncomfortable. Only one way in and one way out. Extra parking is in the back and side. But if you’re traveling at night or day that’s a uncomfortable feeling. Still only one entrance way to the lobby. I have to say the outside and lobby is misleading. Because the rooms have been remodeled. Nice comfy rooms. The bed was comfortable. Affordable, cozy and clean. The place is a bit dated and they are doing some renovations. Overall our stay was very comfortable and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. I absolutely love this little motel. came to LA for a weekend visit and these accommodations were just what we needed. We had to extend our stay an extra day and the staff was very accommodating and were able to do so. Nice rooms, clean beds great location and love that its only a few rooms so parking was no issue. Will definitely re visit on our next trip.
Our stay was great. We were looking for a place close to downtown to do some shopping. Just a basic room with no bugs and Clean. This place is perfect if that's what you are looking for. Our only complaint is that the bed is a bit on the firmer side. But for the price it's great.

M Needing a hotel immediately after tickets for a nearby music festival went on sale, I wanted a hotel that was convenient to Pasadena but moderately priced. Although this didn't have some of the conveniences of other hotels, this was still a nice "hidden gem" of a hotel. Great neighbourhood, clean for the most part, public transit was just a couple blocks away, restaurants, 7-Eleven and supermarkets...
Daddy knows exactly how to tell me a story The room was an eye awakening for the ongoing process of discovering how BTS can pack an individual while you oblivious to design and data compiling. Q the only thing missing was the Master my favorite meal and explain me a few things
It was decent but clean Our overall day was decent, but here’s a better breakdown. Check in time was at 3 PM, but unfortunately our room was not ready until after 5 PM. This is when we were able to check in two hours late. Upon entering our room, we noticed that it was very clean, but it was a bare minimum. Meaning they only had one sized towel, they only provided us with two pillows for our bed...
Had a really pleasant stay here! The grounds are very cute and well maintained, and the rooms were nice and clean. Was a great place to return to during our trip - we used public transit to get everywhere and were very pleasantly surprised by the frequency of the buses in this area. (There is also an excellent taco truck nearby, as well as a trader joes for grabbing snacks and drinks.)
The service attitude is very good, parking is free and there are many places. The room is quite large and bright, but it seems that the floor was not swept carefully because I saw a used toothbrush next to the cabinet...

Wonderful little place. For a nice low cost, this place works. Nice bathroom, with lots of bathroom freebies like individual wrapped toothbrushes and toothpaste. Friendly and helpful staff ^-^
The staff is very friendly! They make sure your stay is great. The beds are a little stiff, but I was still able to sleep easily. There was not a whole lot of road noise.
Very clean, nice and comfortable. I especially liked the lounge where you could get free water, fruit and sweets and where you could sit down to eat. Only drawback there: The AC was so cold that you had to bring a jacket to sit there but I experienced that that's common wherever you go in LA. You need to drive some time to get to the city but the next bus stop, supermarket and place to eat are nearby

Nice, affordable motel. They allow dogs for an additional fee of 20 per dog per night which is a pretty good deal. The service was good and the employees were very nice. It was in an ok location. It had a 7/11 across the street for any snacks/food/etc... The outside was quite nice as well. They had a lot of lovely plants that they seemed to take good care of and some papm trees with color changing...
Clean room and very friendly staff. Only issue is the parking structure. All parking spots are sized for compact cars if that. Leaves very very little room to get out of vehicle when others cars are parked around you.
This hotel is great. First appearances revealed a clean and beautifully layed out landscape. The staff was hard at work cleaning rooms and was greeted at the door by friendly office lady. The room was neat and arranged perfectly, and the amenities were acceptable. Would stay here again!

What a great place!! Clean, comfortable, beautifully updated, wonderful staff, and does not at all feel like a hotel. Incredible value for the price.
