If you like East LA on the posh side then it's ok. I used to stay there regularly twice per year with my family. Ask for pool access rooms (which are basically regular rooms around the pool on ground floor). I prefer lawn access rooms which open out to the hotel's lawn. It's basically ground level, but rooms I had were bigger. 2 adults + 2 kids no problem.

I would say it’s a good 4 star property, not a 5 star. Our classic room was a bit old, but nice with great mountain views. The overall service in the restaurants was also good. The hotel is not super kids friendly, as the only two high chairs at The Terrace were both broken and unsafe and the plugs in the room couldn’t be closed (the special door was broken). Otherwise we are content with our stay...

I booked one room with two beds. They were renovating the room, then they upgraded us to two rooms. We stayed 3 nights during Thanksgiving holiday. Huge rooms. Rooms we stayed were a little outdated, but the bed was very comfortable. Very nice environment. So peaceful. Great service. Will stay again.

The service in every situation was outstanding as was the catered dinners. Don't miss the Terrace or the Tap Room!! Loved the bed and the gorgeous Italian Marble bathrooms! It was spendy but the service was worth every penny.

Very nice, historic hotel. Unfortunately our room was very noisy. Every night starting around 3am, we heard what sounded like furniture being moved around on a bear floor. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and the place was beautiful.

The hotel was ok. I wasn't happy that she put me right next to the housekeeper room, but after the inital check in I never saw or heard them again. Parking is a little tight there. We were very happy with our stay here. Our room and kingbed were comfortable, and there was ample furniture (even a regular size table and two chairs) to spread our stuff out on. Location was great, right across from the community College. We got the 2 bedroom suite it comes with a refrigerator and microwave which most travelers need especially when you have a baby and kids. AC was great. Room were clean.

Stayed a night here prior to attending a UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. No frills but perfectly comfortable for my wife and I and our son. Air conditioner worked well, and the pool and hot tub were fun. Drive to the Rose Bowl was 5-10 minutes tops.

Definitely retro back to the 60s vibe going on here. Clean rooms and a great experience. It's no St.Regis but pulling in here really takes you back decades. The faucets all remind me of my childhood. If you want a clean nostalgic motor inn, this is it.

I stay here every year when I run the Rose Bowl Half Marathon. The rooms are a bit dated (like me), but charming (I hope like me). Very clean, convenient parking and pleasant lobby. Definitely reminds me of California in the 1960's (in a good way). Very nice and helpful staff. Quiet at night.

If you have not stayed in an older hotel then you may find the experience eye opening. The decor and the atmosphere takes you back in time. The room key is an actual key. With that being said our stay was pleasant and it offered a nostalgic feeling I have not had in a long time. Property is quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was nice and clean and there was plenty of parking. They were accommodating and let me check in an hour early. Bed was comfortable and shower was HUGE...I take my hat off to the cleaning people that have to clean that shower. Will stay again should the opportunity arise.

We stayed here for 5 days and did not have one complaint about the place! It's a small spot nestled between the mountains in Glendale, and super close to the freeway so very convenient. This is a great place to stay. They also have a wonderful outside balcony for guests. It is quiet and easy to get to, also conveniently located. I have been here twice in the last year. Note, the nearest airport is the Burbank Airport , right next to Pasadena, California.

We went to universal Studios and it was very close to us compared to other spots I've stayed at plus the mall was right next to us and there are gas stations and food places across the street. By far the best budget option we have used when we visit. Room was clean and smelled fresh, and everything was in its place. The toilet was a little small, but the rest of the room was great. Parking got a little dicey at night because of the small lot, but all in all I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Excellent location for our stay everything was close by to eat and shop. We checked out this morning and received a call that we had forgotten a pill box and returned to get it we thought it was amazing that a hotel did that. I highly recommend this place for future stays.

Stayed here for a weekend. The price for the rooms are great! (Especially with all this inflation, it was hard to find something affordable). The rooms were clean and the office people were polite. There's also a lot of food and stores near by. The area was safe and I didn't have to worry about my car at night. I'd definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at the Xilo! They accommodated us on short notice and gave us a great room. The manager was very nice and obviously passionate about taking care of his hotel and his customers. It's in the middle of a bunch of restaurants bakeries and bars. The rooms are quite small but comfy. Each room has an individual AC unit and TV. Everything feels more homely rather than hotel-y.

Great little find. Extremely gracious staff and very clean updated rooms. The only issue I can share is they have no elevator so be prepared to climb stairs... Other than that its AWESOME!!

We needed a hotel room at the last minute close to midnight in July 2017, and we were able to stay in this hotel. It was in a good location and had free parking. Wifi worked great. Glad we called them.

Lot of staircases to get on your room. Room is small. Outlets are not reachable. Wifi is awesome. Bed is awesome. I would recommend this hotel if you are traveling light and want to have a nice quiet sleep in the night.

Stayed 3 nights here and I can you it's very clean with the hard flooring and I also saw the cleaning lady mop the floor and sprayed soap as I was walking passed another room. It is in a very great location with a mall and tons of restaurants close by. Also has a pool but the water is pretty cold as it is not heated.

This is a motel type of stay. The rooms are very small and tight. If you open a suite case, there is not enough space to use the table and chairs. Car parking fee is $10 per night that is not mentioned during booking. Also not mentioned is room cleaning is only done on the 3rd night. Great location. Plenty of dining options within walking distance. We had no issue with noise. Room seemed clean and updated upon entry, although the floor could have used some extra attention. 5 stars directly to Margarita in Housekeeping. My family and I got taken care of by her with a smile all through our 2 week stay. My daughter got food poisoning one day and vomit was all over the bed. Margarita not only gave us clean linen asap, she also had the courtesy to ask how my baby was doing the following days. We are Hhonors Diamond and had two rooms but I'm not sure if either were upgrades. One was internal and overlooked the courtyard with no Window out. The other was a corner suite. Both were a bit cramped. Breakfast was busy but efficient and very good. Went to manager reception one night. There were chips, chex mix and drinks. Nothing too fancy, but fine and better than others we've been to lately....

The staff is very helpful and friendly. Suites are clean and roomy. The breakfast is delicious with made to order omelets. Location was close to family we came to visit and many attractions. Stayed at multiple Hilton brand hotels since pandemic, this was first with return to welcome gift for Honors member. Also offered housekeeping daily without needing ask each morning. Stayed at this hotel for a festival. The room was very spacious and the pull out couch was big enough to fit two people. They have complimentary happy hour and breakfast in the morning (the good kind!). They have a pool (but we didn't have time to use it) and the location is very close to the Rose Bowl Stadium. And overall the experience was great!

The absolute best stay I've had in the area. It's right off the 134 freeway. Easy access to parking lot. The amenities were amazing! Breakfast was great, enjoyed the omelet station. The beds were so puffy and comfortable. Worth every dime 👌

Great Hotel, food, decor, staff are top notch. They only thing I hate are the "Solid Rock" hard beds. If not for that, this is a 5 star property.

Great place to stay if you are visiting Universal Studios. Complimentary breakfast included. Suites are clean and modern. Parking is underground and hotel charges $21/day. We've stayed here twice now on both our Universal Studios trips. Will likely stay here again next time unless the Hilton at Universal has a better rate.

I don't know why Glendale Express still shows as Day Inn. Anyway, it is a good hotel near the 134 freeway. Nothing fancy, just think of a regular local hotel at a convenient location.

I did not expect the hotel to be that big. It’s nice and clean. I just didn’t find the microwave oven. There’s a mini fridge, which is convenient. And you can stream your phone or tablet into their tv so you can watch your favorite shows in the comfort of your bed

This was a nice place! For the price, we got a nice big room with a king bed and a couch. Convenient for visiting the tourist spots near Griffith park like the Hollywood sign and the Observatory. The room was clean and no annoying noises from anywhere. It had a deck overlooking the pool. My only complaint is that they charge $9 for parking, which was annoying not knowing that ahead of time. Not sure about the bad experiences others have had here, its a basic hotel in Glendale. Worth it, fridge and microwave and fan work. Bathroom fan was not working but still vented smell. You get what you pay for, if you want the four seasons, shouldn't expect

It's a small and quiet place. They don't have a pool. The rooms are decent because it has a mini fridge, TV (direct TV), AC, shower with tub, weak WiFi the signal is bad, and the bed is on the hard side. Seems really stiff. Good enough room for the night. $100 for the night room #26. The parking lot is small, however there's plenty of close street parking.
