Everything was great with our stay. Went there with my wife for our anniversary, unsaid, they even wrote out "Happy Anniversary" in the sand-visible from our balcony in the morning. Came for the first time to celebrate my son and nephew’s birthdays and we had a lovely stay. Friendly receptionist and staff. The pool with ocean view and location is amazing. We had a wonderful stay at Dream Inn. Andrew at the front desk was incredibly friendly and efficient. The hotel was clean and quiet, and sitting at the hot tub by the beach was amazing! We splurged for the upper level rooms, and was incredibly lucky and got a very nice room on the top floor. The scenery is not bad, it is the best hotel by the sea. But it still feels like a motel, and the sound insulation is not very good.

The view was nice. The room however stunk like greasy fried shrimp that hovered in the air. Turned in the AC with the door open to dissipate the odor. Nice hotel to stay when visiting Santa Cruz area. The hotel is conveniently located close to freeway, it is easy to get to town. The hotel has an outdoor heated pool and hot tub. The room is spacious and clean. Highly recommended and will definitely go back to stay there again for future visits.

We have been to this particular Comfort Inn Location for many years. Location is amazing just a few steps away from the Boardwalk and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Its super close to the beach and boardwalk. Old motel style so you can hear quite a bit of outside noise. The rooms have been updated and look great and and very clean. Parking is limited so check in early.

The people were very friendly and my room was very nice and clean. The location was just blocks away from the boardwalk and all l had to do was walk. The only downside to this place is not a lot of places to dine around the area. Otherwise I had a great experience.

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's about a 10 minute drive away from the wharf in a very quiet mixed use neighbourhood. There are trails and beaches just a few minutes walk away. Free breakfast and parking were really appreciated as well. Highly recommended.

Clean and nice. Typical hotel issues. Mini-fridge freezes things and the breakfast is about as good as left over McDonald's. On the bright side the TV was easy to connect to HDMI.

Always pick this hotel when I'm staying in Santa Cruz. The staff are friendly and the rooms are spacious and clean. It's a 10 minute walk into downtown for all your shopping and restaurant needs.

The caption says "laid back hotel" but the experience is anything but. The lady at the front desk treated us more like trespassers than guests. This is at walking distance from Asilomar beach. We loved the cottage and facilities assigned to us. We also saw a deer outside our cottage and we were delighted y the sight. There is no pool but a small hot tub. They offer free breakfast and snacks all day. The free breakfast only has fruits and packaged stuff and nothing cooked. Overall we had a memorable stay here.

I stayed at Asilomar Conference Grounds for a 2-day / 1-night retreat. A few main buildings are located at the center of campus (dining hall, lecture room, guest check-in) and the residential buildings are scattered on the outskirts. The location of this Hotel is great. Was there for a company party set up for 500-800 researchers (teams) in the area for a conference. Not sure about the rooms & amenities but the view is remarkable and so is any other are I was able to see before dark. I hear its a great place to be and stay.

Historical grounds add interest to a lovely quiet setting along the coastline. A short sweet walk along a path leads to a white sandy beach. Seventeen mile road meanders thru between beach and grounds. If you like history, world class beach and views,this place is positively enchanting!

A nice quiet stay in Pacific Grove We had a great 4 night stay. It’s an older building but beautifully maintained. It was very clean. It was only a 1 block walk from shopping and restaurants and very quiet. The breakfast was only bagels and muffins, etc. but the fruit and yogurt parfait was nice.

I was in San Jose for a convention this weekend and was lucky enough to reserve a room here, the room was clean, warm and the service was immaculate.

The property was very clean and the location is ideal because of its proximity to the Convention center. There's also a Starbucks nearby. The manager was extremely courteous, kind and professional. He was very accommodating and helped me check-in and check-out early. I can't recommend this place enough. Great price!

Wonderful experience. Incredible location, great innkeepers, great food, comfortable rooms. We had a business meeting here and they made it very nice for use - Apple TV to project our stuff, whiteboard, very comfortable meeting room. Super attentive staff. Cannot day enough nice about this one.

The view is good, facing the sea, the beach is downstairs, the fireplace is very American style, and breakfast is delivered to the room

This is great place to stay, although I had a room facing cannery row, it's great for people watching. Room had a fireplace which was nice for ambiance and warmth. Bed was comfortable, bathroom is a little small other than that excellent stay. I rarely give out five stars for service but this time they earned it, from the doorman valet to the check-in to the maids everyone was friendly and polite

Air con doesn't work in the building at all, tiles coming away from the wall in shower, chipped paint and water takes ages to get warm even though California is in a drought seems a waste. The hotel probably needs a refurb and it would be amazing. The staff are really nice and the location perfect.

My husband and I booked the Spindrift Inn for our 25th Anniversary. A couple days before our intended stay, my husband went into the hospital, and I needed to postpone. I stayed in Room 304 and it was beautiful. It had a fireplace and a great window with a view of the central coast. The marble floor and the shower was pleasant as well. I enjoyed my stay and it’s great location close to the Fish Hopper, Bubba Gump, and the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory :)

The room was huge, clean, the bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. There was also a microwave and a frige in the room which was nice. The waterpreassure was excellent and so was the wi-fi. Great parking.

Stay at this hotel, you won't regret it. Good prices, great location, immaculately clean room. The owner is so friendly and check in was a breeze. I booked with Expedia and had no issues. The free parking is a great addition, and because it is only a couple blocks away from downtown it was easy to walk everywhere. I'll definitely be staying here when I come back to San Jose.

This is an excellent place to stay at this price point. We only planned to be in San Jose for two nights so we wanted something that would be comfortable but wouldn't break the bank. This place is a hidden gem. Free safe parking. Rooms are exceptionally clean. Refrigerator and microwave provided. Owner is very friendly. He even held on to our beer and put it in the fridge for us while we were waiting to check in. Coffee shop two doors down super convenient. The owner really takes care of this property. Will definitely stay here again.

The price is amazing for the location! Me and my partner stayed here to see the Game Grumps Live show at the San Jose Civic Center, and it took about 8 minutes to walk there from this hotel. Plenty of eateries and things to do nearby. A little unassuming on the outside but the rooms are very clean and seem newly renovated. Nice big bed with plenty of pillows. We are rarely disappointed with our Marriott stays and this stay was no different! Everyone was very nice and welcoming. The location was perfect as we flew in for our son’s game against San Jose State. We walked to yoga one morning. Walked to the stadium on game day.

Having stayed in many Marriott’s across the country (196 nights and counting), I can say this was one of my best stays. The staff at check-in welcomed me warmly and provided me with a very comfortable room. On top of that, they gave me a nice welcome gift consisting of wine and snacks. Thanks again for the great stay. Saturday, August 9, 2025 arrived at San Jose Marriott for the San Jose Jazz Festival around 9 am from Sacramento, traffic was easy. Early check-in wasn't until 1 pm. Finally got a room around 2 pm after five hour wait! Nice room though. Two queen size beds (I think). More than enough for little ole me though. I had requested a microwave in the room when I made my reservation in June. No microwave!...

The service at Marriott Hotels in China is very good, but it is different abroad. There is not even a bottle of water, and the room was not cleaned even after staying for three days. The experience is really terrible!

The room rate was a bit expensive because it was the event season, but the facilities were satisfactory.

If you are driving, the entrance is easy to miss, especially when it is a busy check in time, but otherwise, we had a great experience for our short stay. We came the night before a volleyball tournament at the San Jose convention center and it was very convenient for us to park, stay, and walk to the convention center hall for the tournament. The hotel is in a very good location, with complete catering and other service facilities around and convenient transportation. The room is clean and quiet. It's just that parking costs an extra $45, which is painful.
