Nice hotel with great views. The rooms are really nice, clean, and comfortable, as was the bed. The staff were very friendly. Check in was a breeze. However, the room had a strange odor as soon as we walked in the room, particularly worse in the bathroom. It didn’t take away from our stay, but I do feel it is worth noting. Also, there is an additional $25 charge for parking, which is directly across...
This is a nice location if you walk the Santa Cruz Boardwalk Beach. All the rooms face the ocean so you are guaranteed an ocean view which is wonderful. The first thing I realized was that I would be charged an extra $25 a night to park. Hotels shouldn't charge for parking that should be included in your stay. I was them disappointed with the room. I have only stayed here once before, and that...
Solid spot. I spent 3 nights and 2 days of conferences. Rooms are very good, converted, old style. Nice amenities. Ocean view to die for. Great staff and room service. Bed and linens were dreamy. I had one of the best ever vodka martinis at their bar. Coffee cart in lobby excellent also. I didn't get the chance to try the pool but the other guests seemed to really enjoy it. Parking / valet easy peasy...
Staff was very friendly and location couldn’t be any better. I love the style of the rooms. Fairly clean but carpet a little sticky, coffee machine needed a good cleaning before I used it, and toilet paper holder loose on the wall, shower door leaked a little. Faucets not in the best shape. Didn’t have a microwave in the room. Food the hotel offered was decent but over priced for the quality. Parking...
Can't beat the location and the views, for sure. Staff was super friendly, especially the valets. For the price, the amenities in the rooms could have been much nicer (better coffee, nicer bedding, etc.) Bathroom is dated and needs a good remodel. Food and drinks are priced sky-high and were just ok. The pool and hot tub area are great. Easy beach access.
Gorgeous views, beautiful rooms, and free valet parking for wedding guests. Just remember to tip your driver 😉

Really excellent location, right between the Santa Cruz beach and the Santa Cruz mountain redwoods. Staff has been incredibly friendly so far and super accommodating. I'm staying in a one-bedroom king suite which is a good size room. I do think they need to update their sofas they're a little run down and I would like to see them touch up the shower a bit as well considering the cost of the room. But...
Great location, loved the hot tub and pool area. Room was clean and well put together, although there were some stains on the furniture. We requested a room with forest view and were put on the opposite side. This wouldn't have been a huge deal but there was a very loud rattling in the bathroom from the AC unit outside of the room. I went to ask about changing rooms and was met with someone that said...
We checked in on Easter weekend and we're able to easily upgrade to a family suite. The suite was much more spacious than we thought it would be, huge! Complete with a kitchenette area with a microwave and fridge/freezer combo. Everyone had their own space to hangout and bathroom to use which was fantastic. Everything was clean and tidy with well-appointed spaces. The rooms were surprisingly quiet...
The best hotel I have stayed in US so far. I come from Europe, there the hotels are generally of better quality. Here I felt as in Europe, this is a big compliment!
The facilities are beautiful, the staff were so friendly and helpful and there is dinner and breakfast available. We were able to use the pool and hot tub. The bed was very comfortable, everything was great. It was about a 20 minute drive to the Santa Cruz boardwalk which is where we spent most of our time.
The room is as expected at par but the swimming pool is sparkling clean! Not to mention the mattress is very comfotable too. The buildings are old structures but they maintain very well. We've stayed in other hotels in the area and so far this one is the best.

The breakfast was very good and well tended. Staff very friendly and courteous. Facility was very clean, and all staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the west end location!
I had a fantastic experience here. My room was so clean and every employee I interacted with was beyond kind. Seriously, even the guy cleaning the carpets was whistling while he worked! So clean and friendly I ended up rearranging my trip to stay a second night. Thank you!
This had to be one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time. The property is well maintained, the room and bed were great, and the complimentary breakfast was really good. The staff were accommodating and willing to help with any request. Would recommend 5/5.
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's about a 10 minute drive away from the wharf in a very quiet mixed use neighbourhood. There are trails and beaches just a few minutes walk away. Free breakfast and parking were really appreciated as well. Highly recommended.
Clean and nice. Typical hotel issues. Mini-fridge freezes things and the breakfast is about as good as left over McDonald's. On the bright side the TV was easy to connect to HDMI.

The rooms are very nice and clean, reasonably priced, and has a great staff. Very attentive. It's also in a great location next to the Board Walk!!!
We have been to this particular Comfort Inn Location for many years. Location is amazing just a few steps away from the Boardwalk and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Management has been putting a lot of effort in upgrading rooms. Staff has always been consistent and trustworthy. This is our go to place for a staycation from bay area.
We stayed at the comfort in right by the santa cruz beach boardwalk. The people who work there are extremely nice and courteous. The rooms are recently renovated and besides a couple cracked tiles in the bathroom floor the room was perfect. We were traveling with our young son and they took it upon themselves to offer us an upgraded bigger room so wed have more room for him, it was very thoughtful...
Its super close to the beach and boardwalk. Old motel style so you can hear quite a bit of outside noise. The rooms have been updated and look great and and very clean. Parking is limited so check in early.
The people were very friendly and my room was very nice and clean. The location was just blocks away from the boardwalk and all l had to do was walk. The only downside to this place is not a lot of places to dine around the area. Otherwise I had a great experience.
Hotel was very clean. Friendly staff. Hot breakfast. Short walk to Boardwalk. Would absolutely stay here again.

Property has a 7-day cancellation policy which seems unusually restrictive and inconsistent with other places in the area which have more typical 48 hour cancellation policies. Check in window was only from 3-5 in the afternoon which is also quite restrictive, otherwise needed a lock box. Room was very clean, but feels functional like a hostel or hospital and needs updating. WiFi was fine. We wondered...
This place is WONDERFUL!!! This was my first time in Santa Cruz and I am so thankful I booked this hotel. Location is perfect, it is very close to the beach and boardwalk as well as downtown which makes exploring easy and fun! The rooms are fantastically clean and comfortable, the bed is plush and perfect, the bathroom is spacious and has a lovely shower. The lobby always has yummy treats to eat as...
This is the spot. Great location in downtown Santa Cruz. Walking distance to beach, Boardwalk, wharf, shopping, restaurants, bars, Metro station, West Cliff Drive and other neighborhoods. They have bikes you can borrow if you feel like taking a ride. There’s a full commercial kitchen at your disposal. Excellent rooms with high ceilings, comfortable beds, ample seating, awesome bathroom and shower,...
Great spot, quiet, clean, free bikes to ride, kitchen is open for use. Calvin was super friendly at the desk, gave us directions, made us feel welcome. Stayed here with my girlfriend on a west coast trip. If you're staying in Santa Cruz, try this place. Awesome breakfast spot down the street. The patio & firepit ended up being perfect place to hang for an hour with my girl before going out. Best hotel...
Location is perfect. Don’t need to pay for parking- plenty of parking on the street. If you’re here to enjoy Santa Cruz this location is well situated. Most things are walking distance especially on Pacific Ave.. If you walk the opposite direction you get to the boardwalk in less than 10 minutes. Bed is welcoming and comfortable after a long day. This place is not a typical hotel where you have a pool...

View and location perfect. Next time will request a deluxe king room. Loved the continental breakfast, cookies and daily wine/cheese offerings. Nice touch!
I've wanted to stay here for as long as I can remember. As much as this place looks like a fairytale, it is. Our room was just perfect! I sincerely don't think you could get a bad room here. The service was hands down the best! Coffee 24/7. Fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. You can smell them baking y'all, they are no joke! The wine, and cheese course they serve is above, and beyond what we expected...
This is the best location for a weekend getaway ever! Every room has a beautiful view. Rooms are clean and comfy too. They serve breakfast, cookies in the afternoon, and free wine and cheese in the evening! Amazing staff to boot! Highly recommend this location.
Beautiful views from the top floor. The refurbished rooms are nice. Our king bed suite was huge. The staff provided some form of food and drink practically all day. Will definitely go back.
The great: ocean views and wave sounds. Room very clean. The service staff work very hard at keeping the place in tip top shape. Short walk to boardwalk. Short walk to wharf. This part of Santa cruz is just awesome. The good: free continental type breakfast. The not so great: the bed was killer on my back, guess I'm getting old. I will definitely want to stay at this spot again on a yearly...

Great value for money!! The room was super clean and the furniture looked quite new. The shower was very spacious. Shampoo and conditioner were provided. There were a free parking. Staff was very friendly. This is the best « motel » we’ve been to so far.
This re remodeled hotel is so nice compared to 2 or 3 years ago. Same management but total remodel and upgrade. Rooms are all new furniture and painted. Very nice I was very impressed.
My stay here was great, room was clean & cozy. 4 stars due to the outside definitely needs a remodel & no soap inside the bathroom. Great price for somewhere to crash for the night. Close to downtown also.
Very small room. No hairdryer, no iron/ironing board no coffee maker & no toilet paper holder nor any hooks in the bathroom to hang up your robe or clothes. It might have been under renovations?! Location is close to beach boardwalk. Yet, We'll stay somewhere else next time.
Stayed here Friday night 7/08 with my daughter. Last minute trip to the boardwalk. Wanted a place close without going broke. After reading reviews I decided to give this one a try. Since check in was not until 3:30 the plan was to leave the car, walk to the boardwalk, then come back in the afternoon to check in. When we arrived Sam was able to check us in super early which was awesome! Allowed us a...
We stayed in this motel for just one night, and it was pretty good for the price that we payed. The room was really modern and clean. The only problem was that we didn't have a trash in the room but then we asked for having one and Sam ( the receptionist) gave us one. The receptionist, Sam is really kind and always available. So we really enjoyed our stay

I absolutely loved this stay. I was greeted by the very friendly front staff who showed me around as if he was giving me a tour of his own home instead of just giving me instructions and sending me on my way. The room I stayed in (#6) was the perfect size for just me and the bed was comfortable, the view let me see the sunset and the sunrise and the fireplace was a great touch. I felt like I was...
It was a fantastic visit and stay at the Rio Vista Inn. We had a late arrival but Jeremy had everything all set up for us. Even saved us a parking spot. He was quick to help us with our questions about the local businesses and the history of the hotel. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Easy access to shopping and restaurants. We will surely stay here again.
This place is amazing ! I instantly got good vibes. Jeremy is so friendly and passionate. He really made my experience special 😊 The house is located in such a great area. The rooms are clean, modern and have character. I felt super safe staying in the house. Everyone has private assigned codes Also loved the coffee /water station. Super amazing 😍 Also free parking…honestly what else could you ask...
I had chosen Santa Cruz for a leg of a three-week bike trip from Vancouver to San Diego and was looking for personally run family hotels with character - the opposite of a uniform business hotel. This hotel is a real highlight - a gem! A former captain's villa, long left to decay before being lovingly restored by the owners a few years ago. I was warmly welcomed by Jeremy (thanks at this point for...
We stayed in room 7, which is in the main mansion, and it was amazing. We had a jet bathtub and a shower and the bed was sooo comfortable. The people who run the place clearly love the place and had so many cool facts about it. The building is old and beautiful but the room is so new and clean. Wonderful stay.
This place is beautiful — Unfortunately, with all the luxurious renovations, they forgot to insulate between the rooms! The first night, I could hear people coughing and sneezing next door and I thought, Oh No. But it wasn't until my last night there that I was woken up in the middle of the night by the television next door. Calling the off-hours number did nothing. Antonio answered but nothing changed...

Great location, and amenities. Well stocked, all functioning. The hot tub was wonderful. The shower cubicles are very small, without a hand shower.
Joyce has a wonderful, fun, warm home right near the Opal Cliffs...from the first hello, she helped make our Family mini vacation possible. Overjoyed after Covid separations, we were so excited when Joyce greeted us. Making sure the Netflix was connected, the house had this big welcome feeling. 2 star hotel with a 3 star rating. Staff was nice. Rooms leave a little be to desired. Broken shutters. I had to fix the feet on the fridge and the cabinet door where fridge is located. Fridge wobbled and door would not close, sink wouldn’t drain, floors and door squeak . Rooms aren’t perfect but decent shape. Sound travels through these paper walls and floor. Was something under the carpet at the...
Very friendly and helpful staff. I was traveling with a golf group and we had a little mix-up on the number of rooms we booked. We were able to add an extra room easily at a competitive rate. Perfect place of you're looking for a place to stay the day before you begin your vacation at Pebble Beach.
The caption says "laid back hotel" but the experience is anything but. The lady at the front desk treated us more like trespassers than guests. Very tense about everything from the moment we arrived and made my dad uncomfortable while eating breakfast. Said he had to go away. The room itself was clean, small, and okay. Walls are thin so there's lots of background noise
Very nice room. Location is a a little out of the way, but I like that. Still close to Monterey and all it's activities though. Would definitely stay there again.
I had a fantastic time here. The room was perfect, hotel staff very attentive, some new landscaping was being planted while I was there, and it will look great! I was pleasantly pleased as some of the other reviews posted were not so good. You just can't please all the people all the time! Thank for a great time out!
Very nice hotel a short walk from downtown PG. Seems to have been recently renovated. Nice amenities and good beds. Sufficient number of plugs and USB hookups. Great Continental breakfast with 2 waffle grills :)

Relaxing place to stay. Love the fireplace!! Lovely garden and grounds. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Hot tub is really nice too.
This was our fourth visit to Andril Cottages. Nice accommodations and friendly, helpful staff. It was raining when we arrived, which we anticipated, and we were planning on staying inside and mostly eating out. A big storm blew over a giant pine tree across from our cottage which was 'exciting.' Their staff got right to work cutting it up and hauling it away, not an easy task! And then the power went...
I am so glad to have discovered this wonderful gem. We stayed for three nights arriving in the midst of a torrential rainstorm. Even though there was a large downed tree and other things going on the check in process was smooth and the staff beyond pleasant. We stayed in a stand alone studio king cottage. Everything was clean and well taken care of- inside and out- at the property. We loved the jetted...
I must admit that I haven’t stayed here but my friend gave me a tour of their cottage and the surroundings. This is a pet-friendly location with grounds to walk your dog and the beach is within walking distance. They have accommodations for up to 12 people so this is a great place for a family reunion. We plan on suggesting Andril Fireplace Cottages to any friends or family looking for a nice place...
Our family of five stayed there for a week and it could not have been any better! Great location and friendly people. The housekeeping staff and groundskeepers are top notch. We would definitely go back if we did not live so far away. Highly recommended!
We love this place. Each cottage is different and fully furnished. Had a fenced in yard to bbq and for the dogs also. All staff if friendly and just once you meet them they are like friends for forever. Big lawn area for the dogs to play. We never go anywhere else when in Pacific Grove.

I am sad that I can no longer recommend Asilomar. The natural beauty is amazing, but the rooms are in disrepair. The heater did not work, and instead of fixing it, they brought in a space heater. The sliding door to the deck would not open, making the deck unusable. Every ice machine I could find was out of order. Wallpaper was peeling. Renovation is overdue. If they work on it, it could become great...
If you are visiting our beautiful area, one of the less advertised places to stay is The Asilomar Hotel (Lodge) and Conference Grounds. Perfectly situated within a few steps to the beach, spanning several acres, filled with trees and paths. This gem has a great rustic vibe. Very cosy. The Main Lodge has a large, locally quarried boulder fireplace, many comfortable leather sofas and two pool tables...
I stayed at Asilomar Conference Grounds for a 2-day / 1-night retreat. A few main buildings are located at the center of campus (dining hall, lecture room, guest check-in) and the residential buildings are scattered on the outskirts. The location of this Hotel is great. It's walking distance to the beach and state park. My room was kinda average and screamed "family beach retreat on a budget"....
This place is very beautiful. Nice view & awesome sunset around the beach. If you stay on-site for the conference, you should notice that the room itself is old and honestly doesn’t smell good.
Was there for a company party set up for 500-800 researchers (teams) in the area for a conference. Not sure about the rooms & amenities but the view is remarkable and so is any other are I was able to see before dark. I hear its a great place to be and stay.
Historical grounds add interest to a lovely quiet setting along the coastline. A short sweet walk along a path leads to a white sandy beach. Seventeen mile road meanders thru between beach and grounds. If you like history, world class beach and views, this place is positively enchanting!

The staff was so kind and helpful! We had our dogs w us and we had rented one of the cottages that had it's own fenced yard! Perfect! The cottage had a separate bedroom, very comfortable, in fact, we hadn't slept that long in years! The living room has a wet bar, microwave, and refrigerator. We didn't use the fireplace. There was a TV in the living room and bedroom. All was neat & clean!
Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. Loved the extras...wine, cookies, brownies. It was a quiet place to crash at the end of the day. I also enjoyed just hanging out and quietly slipping into the new day, reading a book in the garden while sipping coffee. The overall atmosphere is chill and relaxing and that is a welcome relief from the daily...
Our stay at Centrella Inn was terrific. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and affordable. The inn is full of character and warm touches - we particularly enjoyed the homemade scones each morning and cookies each evening. The staff was delightful and the location was great too. Centrella went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. Thanks for an awesome stay!
This Inn was great! We were on the stop floor ( I cannot do other guests above me) and it was charming, peaceful for the most part. Lots of room! It is on the corner of a street so there was some traffic but not bad at all. I liked that is was decorated Victorian, the floors did creak but that’s what you expect for a super old home. Very historic property. The hot water in the shower actually lasted...
My husband and I spent a few days at this amazing and beautiful hotel. Everything was clean, staff very friendly and the hotel was beautifully decorated. We booked this hotel during Monterey Car Week expecting it to be a low grade hotel considering the price. We were very wrong. Not only did we have an oceanfront view every morning we woke up, but the service here is the best we've had at any hotel during Monterey Car Week.
