Stayed for 3 nights for Wrestlecade 2023 and had a great time. Very nice rooms in great condition. It was quiet and peaceful and the location is great! It's a 5 minute walk from about 6 great restaurants, convenience stores and the convention center. You can part your car for the weekend. Looking forward to next year!

The hotel was very nice. Centrally located directly next to the convention center. The parking garage had a sky bridge so you didnt have to go outside to go to the car. Room was nice. Staff was friendly. There is a valet service, but i used the self park. Would definitely stay again if i was going to an event in the area

We booked a room for a big dance conference that is held each year. We left for our weekend (coming from Tennessee) with a huge winter storm heading that way. The hotel went above and beyond to help us out and even helped us with a late checkout and let us check out with a refund for the next two days that we had booked without charging us anything. Great experience! Was in town for a music convention that went from Sunday to Tuesday. Sunday night at the Butcher and Bull, the incredible staff made sure everyone was taken care of. We loved the local beer and bourbon selection. The bar manager was so nice, and her and her two bartenders even stayed open an extra hour to help us all have a great time that night!!

Sub-standard for Marriott properties across the country. Needs significant maintenance from elevators to carpets and restrooms. Staff is nice and polite, bathrooms are small as heck. My room was renovated and everything was comfortable. The elevator was a bit shady and didn’t feel safe. The gracious hospitality of Theressa and Chantel was so special. This hotel when finished will be Best Western Plus. It will have a restaurant. A huge ball room, a fitness room, swimming pool, a full breakfast line up and so much more.

I choose this place because it was at a convenient distance from the event i was attending. Since it's under remodeling, it's a mess everywhere, the staff has to compensate with good costumer service. But over all it was good. I gave 3 star only because they where remodeling the place and did not have some things I needed in hand.

Everything good except beds were firm and not comfortable for us. The shower was amazing. I reserved this room for family. My relative is disabled and walk with a walker. I called prior to booking and spoke with a woman who said she could be accommodated. We get there and in order to even get to the elevator for the first floor there were steps and a few long hallways!!! Extremely disappointed. The halls smelled of beer and cigarette smoke. The cigarette smoke seemed to be coming into the room through the ventilation system.

The location of the Hawthorne is quite convenient to some downtown restaurants and shops. The only issues we had we're that the shower is difficult to maintain temperature because changes in temperature take long periods of time. Only there for an hour, but the event room was fairly spacious. Disabled should be aware that there are major hills in the parking lot and the elevators are somewhat tiny. About two wheelchairs and two adults can squeeze in at one time. This was only in the event area. I didn't go beyond that point. There is an offloading/loading area in front of the lobby.

Had a fraud looking charge on my credit card this morning I called hotel and Britney at front desk was amazing, sympathetic. I got a prompt call back from the GM Candice who reversed the charges herself and offered to contact Hilton corporate on my behalf to try and get the profile corrected to avoid further troubles.

Very average. Rooms are decently clean and seem to be recently refreshed. Bathroom is tiny. Room and lobby smell a little musty. Hallways look like they have mew carpets but the carpets in the rooms could use cleaning or replacement.

Overall decent value for price. Inspect bed linens and towels, during my stay I was able to see dirt on the curtains, bed linen and towels. In addition, the air conditioner was set on 69 upon arrival in the room however its so humid that it's not cold. Turning the air down to 63 was a small relief. Staff was great, room was cleaned, and I got a great nights rest. The refrigerator was broke , I guess, or maybe unplugged as it so not work. Luckily I didn’t have anything but a few drinks to put in there. Overall I will definitely stay at this location again if I am ever in the area.

WHAT'S THE SMELL. I am chemical sensitive and the room service on our floor was burning mine AND my adult son's sinuses. There was a dog show with lots of dogs staying in the hotel night one so we assumed it was cleaner for the animals (?) but after they all left it continued. Absolutely beautiful. We had a large party and normally we never get room on the same floor. The concierge worked his macis until we were all on the same floor. He was amazing. Nice staff, was greeted immediately with smiles from both front desk associates. Love the room and absolutely love the cozy look and feeling of the lobby. I sat on the couch and enjoyed a delicious slice of cheese cake that I got from the restaurant along with some coffee. This is actually the first time that a hotel has given off such a cozy feeling that I stayed there instead of my room.

A very nice room overall. The only complaint I really had was that the cleaning was not thorough. There was hair in the shower and garbage in corners of the room. The trash cans outside of our room were overflowing. I don't know if that's because of Covid-19 staffing issues or if it's normally like that. Overall was a lovely experience and quiet. Our company had a Christmas party. The food was buffet style. Chicken, salmon, and prime rib. I had the chicken and it was adequate. My wife had the prime rib and she told me it was not very good. This is the only place my family stays when we visit Winston-Salem. It's old world charm, cleanliness, spaciousness makes it a great place to stay. The only thing is the rooms stay on the cooler side in late fall and winter due to the boiler set to a low turn on temperature. We had to use their provided heater to warm the room. We have stayed here twice, once for a vacation and to host our wedding! It is a beautiful place, plenty of charm and history. They are very gracious and accommodating with our wedding, easily helping us pivot amidst a hurricane! Also, the food…just to die for! Highly recommend the steak… if only they would open up their own steakhouse! We really appreciated how much they let us decorate the space....

I was looking for a weekend getaway for the family and this was just the place. What a beautiful historic structure! They really put a lot of attention into making the place welcoming and presentable. Parking is free. It is an old structure so there will be some oddities here and there, and some things may not work as well as they should. If you bring this up with the management they will address...

The staff is so polite personable and avvimafating. Especially who I am assuming is the manager. I didn’t get his name. He is anyways dressed professionally. Ie biw tie and makes you feel so special. I will be coming back and have told my veterans group about the facility since our post is across the street Thank you

If I could give this location 100 stars I most definitely would. ALL of the staff here is amazing. I will definitely be back. The hotel is very clean, rooms are amazing. I've never met such an amazing staff. And I have stayed at hotels all over the world. This is by far the best experience I've had. I highly recommend.

We were here for 2 nights for a family reunion and my husband had chosen this hotel I have to say good move. I love the microwave which came in handy later on after bringing food back from the reunion and the fridge kept leftovers and beer till we were ready, the bed is very comfortable closet space is very very small. which if your carrying a lots of clothes might be a problem for some people ...

Very nice rooms, a little pricey, breakfast is good. Free shuttle service to the hospital. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

We had to stay over night because my husband is a patient at Wake Forest. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to take care if their guests. The only problem we had, our toilet was slow to flush. It was nothing major, and we will stay there again!

I enjoyed it very much. Parking for semi's is kind of tight. Breakfast was great. The staff was great.
