Newcastle, 21 Parnell Place 🧭 Map
What do you expect from a budget hotel. The room had a stale smell on arrival. However after opening the outside door was quickly aired out.
Automated checkin and out was fantastic, nice and simple. This is not a staffed hotel.
Room was tidy however very dated . But we did choose here for the cheap price. Thanks
Definitely didnt get the room type that we wanted or what we were shown on their website.
when i phoned i was asked what i expected them to do about it as they were fully booked.
And i i dont like it that a business cant respond to an email that has been written to them regarding a complaint.
While the linen was nice in this place and it was clean and tidy. ..its pretty old... bedside furniture looks...
Excellent location, Great value for money, service made checking in and out easy.
it's a good place.... it's a bit on the higher side... hope the guys can reduce the price a bit.
Great location and comfortable rooms. I loved the big bath and the quietness.
Unclean rooms and absolutely zero customer service. Lifts are out of order as at 22/09/2016 so you will have to carry your luggage upstairs.

Honestly you get what you pay for not the best bathroom and bed but it’s alright if you on a budget.
They didn’t clean the room on the weekends so had to do it ourselves
i understand that it’s a budget hotel however the room that i stayed was was too dusty.
It was good the cleanness wasn't good because as soon as I opened my blanket I saw a big pile of hair and saw other black particles coming out. The smell was also very concerning because I could smell something really bad that almost ended me to throw up but otherwise it was a good night sleep.
Stayed many times in this location. Very good hotel and easy access for all.
Clean, functional - serves its purpose. No frills but everything you need.
When we arrived, we were served by a very friendly desk receptionist who was very polite.
We had the perfect room as we were placed where we could come in and go out without any hassle.
The room was very comfortable and we were able to see our car as it was parked outside our room.
Very greatful. Thanks

NRMA Stockton Beach Holiday Park
Newcastle, 3 Pitt Street 🧭 Map
everything!! gorgeous location, the cabin was amazing! the smell when you walk in was so fresh and lovely. spotless and beautifully set up
Really lovely spot an easy drive from Sydney, right on the beach and easy ferry access to Newcastle. ⛴️
We tent camped ⛺ and the plots were nice and level. The amenities are clean and the staff is friendly. We checked in after hours with no problems, and the park has direct beach access and some small playgrounds. It's a lovely atmosphere with kids running around. There's even a little coffee cart...
Great campsite directly on the beach, unfortunately it rained all the time we where there and we could not fully utilise the facilities. Great cafe for breakfast with good coffee. Easy access to the pedestrian ferry to Newcastle. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will stay there again.
Have been going to NRMA Stockton for a few years now and always have had the best experience.
Friendly management, always clean amenities.
The family bathroom is the best I've ever seen, with a small and a large bathtub for different ages of children plus a regular shower. It is a peace of mind for families as you can shower all at once!
Easy access to the beach and a nice Cafe just next to the villas...
We stayed 2 nights in powered site. Busy and pretty full park, but it was pleasant, quiet and relaxing. Nice neighbours. And very clean amenities and a really great camp kitchen.
Would stay again for sure.
This park is not quite up to the NRMA standard we are use too, it suffered some storm damage a few years ago and all the beach front cabins had to be removed and were dumped around the park and fenced off giving the park a bit of a trashy look.
According to the locals there is some management issues which might explain this.
Apart from that it is in a very good location handy to the ferry to cross...

Best Western Blackbutt Inn
Newcastle, 80 Orchardtown Road 🧭 Map
Was one of best places my wife and I have every stayed. The accommodation is actually a hotel. My wife was due to have a procedure at John Hunter which was only 6 mins away. The Inn has an elevator that services the basement to the accommodation. The accommodation is very neat and comfortable and the bed is particularly comfortable. The room is air conditioned for heating and cooling. The bistro downstairs...
Great value and good location for getting about the Newcastle region without the mega plex maze of huge hotel/motels. Rooms above a pub, sports bar and bistro and the rooms are quiet and secure. Bistro has daily chef specials and regular fare
Top place to stay always welcoming and helpful and has great food. And the price for the stay is reasonable. With good quality beds and good internet.
Exceptional reception staff, Karen was very helpful and is an asset for the hotel. Restaurant was great value, with large meals. Would stay here again. Free transport to McDonald Stadium was an added benefit.
Karen and her team at The Blackbutt Inn are brilliant! They know you by name and always make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean & quiet, beds comfortable and the food delicious (especially the steak!). I often travel by myself and I feel extremely safe at The Blackbutt Inn. Thank you Karen!
Great service, friendly staff and fantastic food. Would definitely stay again although price was a little more than others of the same quality in the same area. Overall a fantastic stay, totally recommend

Good location with clean, comfortable room and close to nice restaurants.
Is what is advertised.
Would be nice to have a jug in the room to make a morning coffee as walking down the hallway to kitchenette uncomfortable.
Room clean and very comfortable. Close to amenities, shops and cafe.
Room is good and clean, but describe of amenities are wrong, the kitchen only in public corridors and so inconvenient
It is worth the price. Good budget hotel to stay.
Ideal place to stay friendly accommodating staff. Rooms great nice bistro easy to reach surrounding area.
Had to walk the stairs and no kettle in the room. Otherwise everything else were OK. Recommend for a short stay

Convenient and clean
Ori staff need to keep eye on shared kitchen, microwave was very dirty.

The hotel is kept clean and the staff are very friendly. It's very basic accommodation and it has a communal bathroom, but it ticked the boxes for me...a convenient place to stay for one night while I did some work nearby. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. It wasn't super cheap, but breakfast was included, so it's good value overall.
Basic room with 3 beds, a mini fridge and sink. Clean and tidy. Strange walk from check-in to the rooms, down a little sketchy side path. Shared bathroom was ok. Kind of like any other public shared bathroom. Fine for a budget overnight stay.
Finally! A place in Newcastle that has a play area for kids!! The play area was great. They need umbrellas for the tables outside as it's too hot and sunny for sitting and eating outside so you can supervise kids playing. Menu was really basic but service was great.
It was nice place just stopped in for 5 minutes when we where shopping for suites on hunter street
Great place, good food.

Very good. Location is perfect. Staff were very polite. Room was very clean and cool as it was a very hot day when we were there. The bathrooms and toilets were very clean. Our Room was away from the stairs so we had no noise. Our friends were staying closer to the stairs and said was a little noisy but nothing over the top. We will definitely stay again when we are in Newcastle.
Nice pub. The feel is a bit off. Can't decide if it wants to be traditional or trendy/modern. Overall solid joint.
First time at the Commonwealth Hotel and i was pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, food is much better than your average pub food and the staff were a delight. Overall a really nice experience. We'll be back!
Great friendly staff. FROM the kitchen 2 Bar 2 gaming Its not about filling you up on grog or any hidden agendas.
Always the same friendly faces who are Newcastles Best in my keen eyes .
We stayed one night here and we were offered a free drink on arrival! Staff were so friendly and really helped us with local knowledge of the area. Lovely little chocolates on our bed when we arrived and very clean rooms. Aircon worked perfectly and the bar was a pleasant place to hang out. Board games available too! Can't go wrong with this spot. Great beer garden also.

The bed and room were very comfortable. The hotel and decorations were really awesome with tonnes of character. The shared bathrooms were huge and clean when we needed them. The staff were friendly and helpful in our limited interactions. We would definitely return.
Good trendy pub that seems to attract all sorts. There are lots of areas throughout the pub that keeps this place feeling cozy despite it being a pretty large building. The outdoor area is nice and big and they let you bring dogs out there.
Also, special mention to the Jalapeno Poppers. The best in Newy, I challenge you to find better!
Rooms were well presented, wasn't loud and great service.
Excellent food and a good price. Very friendly and helpful staff. An enjoyable visit. Thoroughly recommended.
Great spot for our event, was able to book in everything via email, & had all props & cake kept safe before my arrival. Loved the kids zone for the little ones & service by Rachel was superb throughout our stay. Thank you
Ordered a ceaser salad, well presented, nice to eat, personally don't like red radish, ate outside in the garden area, atmosphere was good, clean and tidy.

The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't organize the earlier check-in, the concierge still managed to give me the room for me. The valet parking service was very good to have my car available whenever I need at very short waiting time.
Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Their hall room was well equipped, clear sound through the speakers and note pads provided for note taking. Apparently for $15 they an provide all day parking and move your car off site and return it when required. It cost me more feeding the meter all day.
The waitstaff in the evenings at seasalt made dinner really feel like a special experience. The quality of the menu was very good, plus they have a large selection of wines and cocktails available.

I really, really liked staying here. I loved swimming in the pool and I had a great dinner at the restaurant. An interesting book in the room had info about the BHP steel mill that used to occupy this site. I had a great time here.
The Crowne Plaza Newcastle is definitely one of the better options for the city if not at the upper end of the budget. The staff are very helpful although check-out is a bit chaotic with numerous people checking out and trying to get cars out of valet parking. Room service good quality and service.

My husband, baby, toddler and I had a wonderful 5 night stay at Merewether Motel over the new year period. Firstly, it's next door to a Coles Express making it very convenient for any late evening essentials (you won't have to worry about any noise, you can't hear any from the room). Nice cozy place outside the busy city. The owners are very nice. Rooms have wifi and Netflix. Toilets are clean and well-prepared. Will definitely go back 👍

Clean, spacious with all necessities required in an apartment. Great location for our purposes with good takeaway food close by. Have stayed here more than once and would happily stay again. No problems with booking and access process.
Great location, close to shopping, pub, neighbourhood takeaway food shop. Parking onsite. Very clean, laundry with washing machine and dryer. Kitchen had everything we needed and a large fridge. Check in information was provided before 2pm and went very smoothly. Each unit has a garage for on site parking. We will definitely stay again if we need a 2 br apartment.
Villas were awesome comfortable and private. Backyard as well, shower not great but would definitely stay again. Nice and clean
Spacious
The accommodation was great for a quick family getaway, nice and spacious.
It needs a pest-contol treatment though as there were a lot of ants around when we first arrived, some roaches and at least 1 huntsman spider in the master bedroom wardrobe.

Plenty of space being a two-story townhouse. The bedrooms were comfy. You were close to everything and easy to get an Uber to get around. The only negative we went to make breakfast and there wasn’t enough dinning plates or sharp knives to cut anything. More glassware would be great.
The property was clean, roomy and well appointed. We had some difficulty getting the access code prior to arrival as the phone line was very busy. Management would be advised to ask the cleaning staff to speak quietly outside the units. Despite this I would definitely stay again. Great value for money.
Easy distance to the sporting venue I was attending on the weekend and close to shops.
In spite of being the front unit on a busy street in the unit the traffic noise was negligible
Very clean and comfortable in a convenient location. However, the apartment lacked cutlery in the kitchen & no globe in the bedside light. Would recommend checking some of the amenities
