The Executive Inn
Newcastle, 10 Rugby Rd, New Lambton NSW 2305, Australia 🧭 Map
Size of rooms and having our beds as shared with my adult daughter. Access to dining next door was a bonus & on site booking.
Great location, was clean and lovely staff. The only downside in my opinion was the Wifi was slow (I stayed in two different rooms during the week and the issue was the same). I thankfully had enough of my own mobile data to use but I would have been annoyed if I didn't.
We had the most wonderful service from all staff members, from reception through to the breakfast restaurant. Having the club attached was convenient for dining and great for the family. Pool and hot tub in winter was fun. Our family would definitely come back here for our next stay.
Modern, clean, and well furnished. A very comfortable almost full size apartment. The bed was fantastic, air con, great size shower, two tv’s. Multiple restaurants on site. I was only in for one night, so didn’t get to use all the facilities but would definitely return. Friendly helpful service staff.
Their service is great, staff are amazing. They’ve got direct access to restaurants which was nice as we did not have to spend time on travelling to a restaurant for dinner and lunch. We walked to a cafe next morning for breakfast which was about 5 mins walk but only because we wanted to stroll outside. Otherwise they have b/f buffet option too for about 27$pp which is not that exp. Pool area is...
Well the room I had was nice BUT not that clean in the bathroom. I complained actually as having a ball of hair in the shower was pretty ordinary to say the least. Hats off to the receptionist for going out of her way to sort it. Room was really quiet though. Great location, parking and access to the club restaurants. I would say again.

Amazing
Always a pleasure to stay here, has everything you need in facilities and services.
Excellent service checking in and room was clean. Only minor issues like the desk lamp having no bulb and second shower head broken but overall great room regardless. Very quiet area and plenty of off street parking with the overflow option into Wests.
The staff at the Gateway are welcoming and obliging. While the rooms are a bit on the shabby side for an overnight or couple of nights it’s fine. Hospitality
Our recent stay at Gateway Inn over the weekend was a pleasant experience. The room was generously spacious, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the atmosphere was quiet—perfect for relaxation. There was plenty of parking available, which added to the convenience. The provision of ample tea, coffee, and biscuits was a thoughtful touch, and having restaurants on-site was a big plus....
Liked the spa bath and the double shower. The air conditioning ******, room was like a freezer. The tap configuration on the spa bath is wrong.
When we got there the staff at the reception desk was very accommodating and very friendly. The room was very nice and very clean. The bed was very comfortable.
That is the 2nd time we have stayed there and we will be going back again.
Thanking you.

Had a great stay at the Best Western Apploo Hotel in Newcastle. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Staff were friendly and always ready to help. Great location—easy access to the city centre and public transport. A solid choice for both business and leisure travel. Would happily stay again!
The service was excellent and upgrading our room was seemless
The room was spacious. The hotel environment was nice. There was no elevator, but it was not a big problem.

Clean and affordable, beautiful seaside scenery, I will go again if I have the chance
The room was very clean, good size, great harbor view! Good fit walking the beach and going to the ocean pool. The dolphins were fun to watch from breakfast today. The view from the restaurant is great for watching the surf.
A relatively small hotel with not many rooms and a good location. You can see the unbeatable sea view from the balcony. The sanitary condition is okay, the room is not big and relatively clean. Breakfast was OK.
Perfect location, gracious service at reception. A lovely immaculate room and view. Close to everything I needed.
New bathroom was large and excellent. The only problem was that the air-conditioner was noisy so struggled to get to sleep. No other problems.
I love staying at Noah’s, the location is amazing! Be sure to get a room overlooking the beach to watch the dolphins and whales as they go by.

The service was great and so were the rooms very quiet considering how close it is to the airport. However, the restaurant was disappointing... Paying $34 for a pretty average 'butter chicken' curry served in k-mart anko bowls is not a good look.
If you need to be close to the airport, it’s great. The staff are absolute sweethearts and happy to help you in any way they can. There’s not a lot around for food in Williamtown but the food I got at the restaurant was absolutely delicious.
The person at check in asked too many personal questions about my travel plans and made me feel creeped out as a single female traveler. Other staff were great. Meals were good and easy check out. Hotel was quiet. Room was basic for the price. No bottled water, minibar or toiletries included. Nothing else around there except the airport. You need a car to get to the terminal as quite a long walk and...
Mercure Williamtown
I just wanted to pass on my feedback from my recent stay at the Airport Mercure in Williamtown.
To say they were amazing is an understatement. I called before booking to make sure I could book 2 rooms side by side as my daughter was recovering from emergency surgery. Spoke to a gentleman named Rob and nothing was too much trouble. On arrival the next day We were welcomed by Rob...
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good-sized rooms. Restaurant dining was excellent. Although my Platinum welcome letter and amenity was not evident, the only real (but minor) negative was room maintenance/house cleaning missing the fact a bed lamp had not been functioning and a tissue box was empty (despite being purposely left out for obvious replacement). Overall, it was an excellent stay.
I’ll start by saying, all the staff were wonderful. However the building itself needs a freshen up. The arm chairs in the restaurant had staining on the arm rests and there was a strange looking black mould looking stain on the roof tiles. The rooms themselves were clean enough, but the shower screen doesn’t come far enough up, so water gets sprayed everywhere when having a shower. Dinner was okay...

on main street closes to everything, the unit had been just refurbished so like new ,they are doing floor by floor so little bit noisy during day but not that bad, packing is extra 35 day full so had to park on street
The room is tidy and neat. The kitchen is well equipped. I will definitely chose to stay here if I visit Newcastle again.
Good location and good service
Absolutely loved the time I spent there, definitely recommend staying there for a relaxing time
Location: close walk to shops and entertainment
Clealiness: one of the best out of my stays at serviced apartments in Australia
Servce: receptionists were nice and helpful
Facilities: didn't use but there's a pool. Parking available at fee and also easy to use.
Overall a great stay and the family was happy!

Had to stay here after my jetstar flight was cancelled. Really clean room with the essential amenities. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through newcastle for work.
Rooms are small and old. Bathroom is very small. Spiderwebs in the room. But for the price and the location good. Perfect for an overnight stay.
Good place for the overnight stay. Close to all the amenities, fast food , quality restaurants all in walking distance. Parking off street for a small fee
Room was clean and well prepared
Rooms are rather small and not really suitable for a long stay. Tiniest fridge ever, and it regularly ices up, the only other appliances are a kettle and an iron. They don't restock the milk, tea and coffee when they do the room. The bed is very comfortable though, so sleep is good. Unfortunately parking is an extra $15 a day and there is nowhere else nearby to park to avoid this charge and if you...

Quiet location with close proximity to Newcastle CBD.
The hotel was fine overall, the staff were remarkably helpful and friendly. Meals were well prepared and tasty. The rooms need updated, especially the bathrooms.
I was thrown by the mixed reviews about this place, but what was amazing about this Mercure; was there was someone to check me in on arrival as I turned up after hours, I would advise ringing ahead if your going to be late which is what I did, the gentlemen that served me was so accommodating and informative.

Very basic and small hotel room, but clean and well maintained. 🫧
Outlet plugs are plentiful and conveniently located. 🤩
Beds and linen are comfortable. 😴
No lifts up to the second floor rooms, so just keep that in mind 💭 if you have heavy luggages❗️
Reception is not open 24 hours❗️
The decor was a little dated, with peeling wallpaper and obvious high traffic marks in the carpet, but the staff were lovely, and some good options available with the breakfast buffet. The location, almost halfway between Charlestown square and Westfield Kotara, is really handy, and quite central to many places around Newcastle.

Great location with plenty of cafes and restaurants at your doorstep. Nice bathroom and kitchenette. There could be a shelf near the vanity and a small table and 2 chairs to eat at in the room.
We love our stays here!! Staff are great!! Rooms are massive, quiet and luxurious.
Pleasant stay
We stayed at Crown on Darby for a weekend trip and it was excellent. The location is close to everything and paid parking was convenient and reasonable. The receptionists are also very helpful and friendly. The room itself was big, clean and comfy. We also enjoyed using the fitness centre.
A highly satisfying stay. The room was spotless.
We love this motel and will be back get location and has everything we need. Friendly accommodating staff.

Stopped in here on our way through to port Macquarie, great location, fantastic outdoor beer garden and they made a great Margarita. The food was delicious, my partner had the lobster Mac 'n' cheese and was very impressed. The chef was very understanding of his allergies and was very accommodating. Great atmosphere. Loved the place, the whole experience made us want to holiday in Newcastle next!
What a great hidden gem in the centre of Newcastle. Was pleasantly surprised with the standard of the room and at reasonable price. Great food downstairs and even though it is open to 2am on the Friday night we stayed at midnight the music couldn't be heard from our room. Will be staying again and strongly recommend.

Dear Readers,
I went away from Sydney for Christmas and stayed at YHA Newcastle Beach, simply put, it was perfect. Huge thanks to Damian for letting me check in a little early, and to the entire crew for making the Christmas Eve potluck so delicious and fun. The volleyball game with fellow hostellers was so good that my hands are still recovering!
Such a beautiful experience overall. Lovely rooms...
Much like the city it's in, it's a cozy spot that quickly feels like home. There's no better place to lay your head while you discover and fall in love with Newy.
Though I obviously haven't been in the hostel the entire time, I've seen a 2 day trip become a year in town instead. A large part of that change of plans was due to the initial experience and lifestyle the YHA and it's incredible staff allowed...
My friend and I stayed in YHA Newcastle for a few nights as a stop over during our east coast tour and it was the perfect 2nd location. The hostel was very homey and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The check in was super easy (especially as we arrived late and reception isn’t 24hrs), the hostel isn’t too big so we found our room easily and the rooms were spacious with showers close by....
Simply the best hostel I've ever stayed.
I have done my 2weeks of road trip and writing this as this was the best one.
The clean level, the staff level and the structure of the building was so great so you can meet people and hang out easily while you can also rest in your room with a silence.
I met a few amazing people there who I still get in touch with, we enjoyed playing ping pong and have a chat...
Loved staying at this YHA. The location is fantastic! I could see the ocean from my window and fell asleep to the sound of waves every night. It's close to the light rail so it's super easy to get around. The bathroom and common room were clean. I appreciated having access to the storage room after checking out so I didn't have to carry my stuff while going to the beach for the last time on my trip...

The room was great the staff were so accomodating to our needs thank you Brock. The atmosphere of The Clarendon is awesome we certainly will stay there again the room was great the food was great the atmosphere was great. Thanks Clarendon hotel for a great stay .
I was in town for a job interview and thought this was a hotel, as the price didn't suggest it was pub accommodation. It definitely is pub accommodation and while the room was nicer than the average, everything was worn and the lighting terrible. The 'kitchenette' was extremely basic with no sink and no way of washing up. The windows were double glazed so noise wasn't a problem for me but they did...
Clarendon Hotel has a very nice bistro with outside seating. As Tuesday is a special day for pizzas, we had a large chicken pizza, with non-alcoholic beverages. Price for the pizza was less than $20. The bistro is popular with families. Our room is rated as 5 stars, staying there was very enjoyable and moderately priced. It's certainly a great place to stay in Newcastle.
Love the Clarendon. Will always stay there. Room spacious and has everything I need. Great pub downstairs, has live music, trivia etc. Friendly staff. So central to the Civic Theatre, tram stop just up the road, more great restaurants around the corner in Darcy Street and also across the road at the Honeysuckle Wharf. Thanks Deb and the lovely crew at Clarendon x

I recommend the Burwood Inn very highly to all!
Thanks and see you again soon!
Came for lunch on a random Thursday. Dining room was just over half full.
Definitely a meat centric menu but still solid options for vegetarians/ pescatarians.
Winter menu featured a few pumpkin based items - highly recommend the tandoori pumpkin pizza.

Great meals for pub! Steaks, steak sandwiches, also attentive customer service.
Reasonably priced well cooked meals as well as reasonable selection of tap drinks.

wonderful stay, will definitely visit again... THANK YOU!
The location is very good, 5 minutes walk to the beach. The breakfast room is very small. The room is arranged on the 2nd floor. The room space is OK, but it is a bit old and dim. The overall standard is that of a domestic express hotel, and there is no service. Parking is charged, we parked on the roadside, and it is free after 5 o'clock.
Read the fine print! We booked the highest level room balcony and ocean view. However on checkin we had balcony and Partial ocean view looking at a carpark. The only rooms that offer both are on level 4 and 5. Management were apologetic but unable to provide the room booked as they were at capacity. But they did offer complimentary breakfast and parking which was appreciated. The room we paid top dollar...
The nearby environment is quiet, and the walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets is acceptable. The hotel rooms are very clean, except that the fitness room is in the basement, which feels a bit cramped.
