Newcastle, Cnr Merewether St & Wharf Rd 🧭 Map
The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't organize the earlier check-in, the concierge still managed to give me the room for me. The valet parking service was very good to have my car available whenever I need at very short waiting time.
Professional, friendly and helpful staff. Their hall room was well equipped, clear sound through the speakers and note pads provided for note taking. Apparently for $15 they an provide all day parking and move your car off site and return it when required. It cost me more feeding the meter all day.
The waitstaff in the evenings at seasalt made dinner really feel like a special experience. The quality of the menu was very good, plus they have a large selection of wines and cocktails available.
The breakfast dining experience does not reach the same level of professionalism, the staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a wide variety of food choices available, but the character of the same...
I really, really liked staying here. I loved swimming in the pool and I had a great dinner at the restaurant. An interesting book in the room had info about the BHP steel mill that used to occupy this site. I had a great time here.
The Crowne Plaza Newcastle is definitely one of the better options for the city if not at the upper end of the budget. The staff are very helpful although check-out is a bit chaotic with numerous people checking out and trying to get cars out of valet parking. Room service good quality and service.

Lovely, friendly staff. More than accommodating for our baby as he was in a pram, the check in staff went out of her way to find us a room with easy access. Rooms spacious and very comfortable.
Unfortunately, the last couple of times I’ve stayed and paid for the king spa room I’ve been allocated the room at the top of the reception area auditorium and the noise levels at 7:30am are excessive. Otherwise the hotel is pretty good - perhaps thicker doors are in need.
Absolutely loved everything about our stay for 1 night. Highly recommend the restaurant dine-in and room service. Only issue which is minor, the balcony screen door was a bit jerky and noisy, easily fixed.
We enjoyed a nights stay here, room was so lovely & clean. Beds extremely comfortable & love the warm large towels! Dinner in their restaurant was lovely, staff incredibly friendly and happy - could see they loved their jobs!
The room service and the view from my balcony is amazing. Apple pie with ice cream is so good. And it's so nice that breakfast buffet has lactose free milk. Thanks staff Richard, Rachel and Maxwell for the amazing service. Will come back.
Stayed at this place for the second time while visiting friends in Newcastle. Better room this time, bigger and renovated although view was of the highway instead of the bush. Love the free tea coffee, fresh milk and bickies they provide in the room. Place also has a gym and expensive restaurant onsite (didn't use the latter). Check in experience was somewhat unwelcoming - we arrived an hour early...

Mercure Newcastle Airport
Newcastle, 2 Williamtown Drive 🧭 Map
Super lovely staff and clean bedrooms. We were able to get a room last minute. The food at the restaurant was superb, would definitely recommend the ravioli
Good place to stay close to the airport. Great if you are working in the vicinity. Book early as its popular! They need to refresh their menu though as it's a bit limited. Notes - there is nothing else really around the area so you do need a car if you want to do anything
My son and I had to stay at the Mercury due to flight cancellation and early flight next morning. It was easy to book and we arrived a little early and checked in very easily. Our room was a twin and soundproof which was great. The bathroom was very clean and quite large. The beds were comfy. We had room service and the meals were huge and delicious. We checked out easily and the concierge called us...
What a convenient location to the airport but also very close to Newcastle. The food is fabulous and service very courteous. Disability accessible to highest standard, our bathroom very safe and spacious. Very clean. I am delighted and will use this hotel in future when needed to come down from Coffs.
The food is awesome and the room is nice and cosy. I tried the Creaser Salad with bacon and chicken it was very filling. So I guess the food is priced reasonable.
Nice room, friendly staff, good pillows including extra long pillows for hugging, shower suitable for tall people.

The Gateway Inn, Newcastle
Newcastle, 26 William Street 🧭 Map
We stayed in room 5404. Lovely view overlooking the field where Newcastle Knight practiced, but we couldn't open the window, and it felt damp.
The king bed size is comfortable, and the double shower is a lovely unique feature. I had my name on the welcome tv screen. The mini bar has a reasonable price of $8 for wine. Service is friendly. Laundry is $3 per load.
Lovely rooms. A little expensive but a good spot with the pub and bistro just over the road. Beautiful sized bed, very comfortable!
Awsome stay we were on 6th floor rooms super clean, chocolates and wine on arrival. In room minibar, coffee tea provided . The 6th floor has individual aircons the rest of hotel is automatically controlled. Wifi was no problem.
In room safe. Bathroom was very spacious with double shower heads and pressure was great. Cannot fault the place.
You could hear the traffic on industrial drive but not to bad...
Rooms very comfy, meals are accommodated at the RSL next door which is very bland for an evening meal, though breakfast in safe venue is respectable
I can’t fault this place. We booked a king size apartment. It was clean and spacious with plenty of natural light, excellent sound proofing and split into two separate rooms so I could watch the World Cup in the wee hours while the family slept next door. Loved the large bathroom too. Great value and would definitely return.
Top notch accommodation. Very convenient being right next to the Leagues Club. Room service food was spot on.

Had to stay here after my jetstar flight was cancelled. Really clean room with the essential amenities. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through newcastle for work.
Rooms are small and old. Bathroom is very small. Spiderwebs in the room. But for the price and the location good. Perfect for an overnight stay.
Good place for the overnight stay. Close to all the amenities, fast food , quality restaurants all in walking distance. Parking off street for a small fee
Room was clean and well prepared
Rooms are rather small and not really suitable for a long stay. Tiniest fridge ever, and it regularly ices up, the only other appliances are a kettle and an iron. They don't restock the milk, tea and coffee when they do the room. The bed is very comfortable though, so sleep is good. Unfortunately parking is an extra $15 a day and there is nowhere else nearby to park to avoid this charge and if you...
Blue stains on white sheets. Water damaged furniture. Towels were not available until requested. Ear plugs provided as road works noise may have been a problem, but I was not aware of this before the booking. Not well lit (externally) at night so did not feel safe.

Great location amongst cafes and restaurants, short walk to Newcastle's CBD and beautiful coastal walk to Nobby's.
Cannot recommend highly enough!!! Will definately return when in Newcastle again!!
Room was excellent, with full kitchen,
large lounge area and balcony, bathroom large shower. Everything clean and comfortable. Loved the secure, easy accessible undercover carpark. Staff could not do enough for us and always with a smile!! Thankyou for an amazing stay!! Location awesome- heaps of cafes & restaurants...
Decent rooms. Hard to park anywhere near it to check in because it's on a very busy road, and the hotel parking is off site and hard to find. Service was excellent however.
We stayed 2 nights in a 1 brm apartment, the rooms were nice and big and airy and very well equipped with everything you need, plates cups cooking stuff, microwave full size fridge and dishwasher, everything appeared clean, we also loved the location restaurants and bars and beaches all within walking distance, staff were lovely and helpful, loved my stay and I will be back!
The interconnecting rooms are not sound proof and when the occupants in the next room are noisy and inconsiderate we were wishing we stayed elsewhere. We could hear all conversation and kitchen activity....it's too much. Why were we put in these rooms when it was clearly not fully occupied at the time? My expectations were not met here.
Location wise it is perfect as you are surrounded by a vast range of restaurants or if you fancy a home cooked meal, pop down the road to Harris farms and cook yourself a feast. The rooms a spacious and clean. The staff are very helpful and accommodating

What do you expect from a budget hotel. The room had a stale smell on arrival. However after opening the outside door was quickly aired out.
Automated checkin and out was fantastic, nice and simple. This is not a staffed hotel.
Room was tidy however very dated . But we did choose here for the cheap price. Thanks
Definitely didnt get the room type that we wanted or what we were shown on their website.
when i phoned i was asked what i expected them to do about it as they were fully booked.
And i i dont like it that a business cant respond to an email that has been written to them regarding a complaint.

Amazing customer service, food and wedding venue. A special shout out to Sarah who organised our wedding! She’s an Angel. We had our 1 year wedding anniversary stay on Friday and it was beautiful and so personalised. If it’s available book room 425. Amazing beach view
The room is quite nice. However there is an odd smell in the bathroom. The whole 3rd floor was smelly for 2 days like there is a sewage issue. Also the windows do not appear soundproof. I could hear all the noise from the street.
Stayed here for about 5 nights, our second visit. This is my go-to place to stay in Newcastle when feeling fancy and want a nice comfy hotel right near the beach. We extended our stay a day and they made it happen without having to change rooms. All staff we met were friendly and accommodating. Some minor but surmountable issues did not lower my rating from a 5 star score. The room was comfortable...
Lovely staff, great buffet
No water or ice in the room, something about drinking from the bathroom feels very canine-esque.
'King' bed was just two beds pushed together, incredibly uncomfortable.
Hard to go lower than a 4 when the staff were so pleasant though
Been staying here a few times now... Always nice and clean rooms. The staff is always professional and very helpful.

Great beer garden. Leafy and green. Dog friendly too. They have a big screen project for sport playing in the rear bistro area. Good pub grub, i.e. big portions with lots of chips. Craft beer on tap and they have a big screen showing the beers they currently have available and their tasting notes. Trivia on Thursdays and cheap pizza on Tuesday.
Location seemed good enough. I gave it 3 🌟 s, despite it advertising itself as a 4 star hotel. The bathroom was functional as a Disability persons needs. I barely had the strength to push the flush button for the cistern. Hot water for shower at 10pm, barely existed. The main bed..had 30cms of clearance to one wall, 40cm on the other side. God knows how more elderly people than I got into bed. The...

Been coming here for dinner since my kids started performing next door. Haven't had a bad meal here yet. Thanks to the great staff always going above and beyond ill keep going back.
I love this place. They have a really nice beer garden out the back and I think it's dog-friendly. The food is really delicious and I really like the staff. Great customer service without being pretentious.
We went for dinner before a show at civic theatre last night and the best thing was that the restaurant was clearly under pressure from the amount of people pre-show but none of that stress came...
One of the best hotels in Newcastle in my opinion. Laid back pub with awesome beer garden and friendly service. Food specials are good and the wine selection is way better than your average pub.

I highly recommend the Junction Hotel. The room was modern and clean and the staff were so friendly. Good location within walking distance or quick uber to main the streets of Newcastle. We got a $40 voucher for breakfast the next morning which was also amazing.
Heads up, not a new relationship type of hotel... the shower is open to the bedroom.
We had a great dinner here, menu was extensive, specials were a good mix of options. I had the crispy skinned barramundi special that was absolutely delicious. We were a group of 5 people and we all really enjoyed our meal. We had table service for our drinks as well.
Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Amazing rooms, very large and modern design. The whole hotel and downstairs bar and restaurant had an awesome vibe.
Included in our stay was a $40 breakfast voucher which was a welcome surprise to us.

Rooms are clean but incredibly basic. Shower & toilet are in something like a plastic mould, very old, no towel rail (just hooks), no shower screen or curtain, so water goes all over the floor. The sink is separate, on the other side of the room. Road noise nearby. It served its purpose for a quick overnight stay (arrived at 10:30pm, left at 6:30am) but if staying longer I'd likely go elsewhere.
Great location, rooms were small but ok for size for one night, slept well room very dark and quiet and service at front of desk was great.

Budget/basic was an accurate description. 1st air con didn't work so the very helpful staff member moved my room. Definitely no frills but clean and functional when all you want is to sleep
Extremely clean and smelt nice. The lady at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Easy drive to Hope estate where we were attending a concert. A few things could do with improving. The hotel is kept clean and the staff are very friendly. It's very basic accommodation and it has a communal bathroom, but it ticked the boxes for me...a convenient place to stay for one night while I did some work nearby. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. It wasn't super cheap, but breakfast was included, so it's good value overall.
Basic room with 3 beds, a mini fridge and sink. Clean and tidy. Strange walk from check-in to the rooms, down a little sketchy side path. Shared bathroom was ok. Kind of like any other public shared bathroom. Fine for a budget overnight stay.
Finally! A place in Newcastle that has a play area for kids!! The play area was great. They need umbrellas for the tables outside as it's too hot and sunny for sitting and eating outside so you can supervise kids playing. Menu was really basic but service was great.

Great food, fabulous meals and great staff and service. The only thing that spoilt the experience was the terrible music piped outside. Terrible thrash metal, dreary country rock ballads and rock music played too loud. We were sitting behind the speaker too! We’ll try sitting inside next time I think. Still, I would highly recommend this venue for a great, fast service dining experience.
Cute little pub with a friendly vibe. We had a great meal and the beers cold.

My local pub, convent spot to have a quick beer and nice meal. They have some really good specials and always impress with the portions.
There is a really good games zone for the kids out the back with free arcade machines and all sorts of other bits and pieces to keep then amused.
I work in Broadmeadow and the Premier Hotel Pub is right behind where I work. I frequently visit the pub to have their cheeseburger lunch special with fries. I like this motel setup, it reminds me of the drive in motel style you see in many movies. All in all I'm happy with the accommodation all though I locked my key inside and there was no one working reception, I called a number on the door and was told that there was nothing that could be done to let me in, then hung up on and not answered on following calls. Luckily I was able to slide the window open

Never been to the pub before, pleasantly surprised. Unable to provide a few dishes from there menu but otherwise really good food, pleasant staff & a good atmosphere.
Came here for dinner and drinks with friends after the revamp they have done. Food was amazing, had a Southern Fried chicken burger which on point and really good cost for what I got as well. Only part I would actually change about the burger is the pickle that was included - it was just held on top of the burger by a toothpick, would have seen this sliced properly and added to the burger itself
Edit : Has undergone a major renovation! Looks excellent.
Staff are very friendly in bottle shop, restaurant and bar. Kids have a ball in the playground, which is pretty decent compared to most in the hunter. I love the restaurant specials, the locals are always a friendly and happy bunch. I'm always glad to go back time and time again.
