Sandman Signature Edmonton Downtown Hotel, Edmonton1 / 12
Edmonton, 10235 101 Street 🧭 Map
Comfy beds, quiet room, and staff was very lovely. Bathroom was a decent size and showers were good. We were only there for one night, but overall it was a great location to walk to Rogers Place!
I stayed at the luxury suite and it had so much space and had a living room and dining room. It also had a great breakfast buffet and chop steakhouse was wonderful. I love their prime rib. The pool was also phenomenal. But the views where to die for.
Stayed here 4 nights for an event at Roger’s place. The location is great for that - connected with an above ground walkway right to Roger’s place - connected to the Edmonton Center Mall and other amenities. Service was good. The room was ok - it was clean but if feels like could use an update -Tv cabinet was a bit beat up , the mini fridge was missing a leg - so I had to prop a face cloth under it...
It is my pleasure to comment on my wonderful experience at this hotel. My apartment building had a fire and we all had to be out permanently. As a result I stayed at the hotel for 1 1/2 months. To make the situation more challenging I'm also disabled with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The hotel was a fabulous place to live during this difficult time. I found everyone who worked there to be top notch...
Previously known as Sutton Place, the Sandman Suites is priced very competitively. When all Marriott properties were $250+, this property provided good respite. The rooms are clean and service is great. Water bottles, room service and normal pillows are available on demand. The hotel provided pillows are rough on the neck and very uncomfortable. My bed squeaked as you turned around on your back to...
I liked that there was a fan that I could turn on at night for white noise. The shower was good and the decor was beautiful.

Have stayed here multiple times when in Edmonton and the service has been exceptionally phenomenal from the front desk staff to the house keeping staff. A special shout out to the lions head pub and their staff for being so memorable and regular, making coming back feel like home. Definitely five star rating!
Clean rooms, a bit dated but comfy and quiet. The pool area is down in basement level 2, so very far from rooms. Felt very weird down there, no staff, some crumbling structures. Hot tub was under construction and torn apart. Hotel is a good location and affordable, but don't go for the pool.
Stayed last night and my check in was a little bit complicated (on my end). The gentleman who was assisting me was very professional and patient. He was kind the whole way through. My beautiful room overlooked the atrium and was spacious and cozy. The bed was TO DIE FOR comfy! Five stars here for the accommodations but most especially, the kind staff!
Older hotel/conference centre centrally located so easy access for people from all over the city which is nice, what is not as nice is parking is limited and signage for what was allowed and when was confusing, also as I attended an event here directions to the area where the event was occurring were not clear and we thought we had been given bad directions before we happened to find the space. The...
Attending a conference and food was pretty decent but could have had better vegetarian options. Pretty dim, dusty and dank being in the basement ballroom for a full day but I guess that can't be helped. Staff were great, attentive and helpful. Parking was really easy.
The conference facilities are very nice. The room we hired for our meeting was nicely required and everything was working. Nice selection of snacks and the washrooms eye clean. Good job!

Great place. The lobby smells great front desk are a bunch of professionals and kind people!! Literally all of them are super nice! The room though I wasn’t expecting that at all, it wasn’t that great the carpet was dirty and the room smelled like an old retirement home which I didn’t like however the location made it all worth it at the end. overall
I’ve stayed here for conventions many years and have not seen too much change. The rooms are spacious and some views are better than others. The food is good there are also lots of restaurants in the area if you choose not to eat in the hotel. The gym and pool area is loaded with everything you need, water, headphones and towels. The sauna is small but still great. Parking is a bit tight. I’ve always...
Parking underneath was extremely tight. the beds were creaky and the pillows were way too big without an option for a smaller pillow. Bathroom could’ve been cleaner. Being right downtown Edmonton is great for conferences.
Atrtended Gala on Saturday and from arrival to departure Service Top shelf, A special thank you Tameka in events , Being an event planner myself in hotel -hospitality industry she was amazing at answering questions , welcoming Directing and ensuring all were taken care of The front desk staff So welcoming friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a Marriott brand...
I run a DJ company in Edmonton called Market Sound Entertainment. We do a lot of events around Edmonton so I know the hotel scene very well. I can tell you that the Westin is wonderful to deal with. The location couldn’t be better and they are very accommodating when it comes to helping you plan the perfect wedding or corporate party. The staff is super friendly and eager to help if you need anything...
Excellent Service at the Share restaurant, awesome food! The bed was so comfortable, wow.

Very nice place ,brand new !!
Everyone that worked there was very friendly, the man who brought up room service was quick and nice and overall a great experience. The rooms were also very pleasant as well!
Even though the hotel was undergoing some work, the disruptions did not affect me. Great rooms with comfortable beds and massive television. Staff was very courteous and efficient.
They really stepped it up for us. Had a weekend getaway for our anniversary. Front desk girls (Kaycee & Jessica) upgraded our room to a suite. Free breakfast for both days at Cocoa's. Had rose petals on our bed. And even delivered a slice of chocolate cake with a handwritten anniversary note. Above and beyond customer service!!
It's a nice enough hotel. The connection to the mall is bittersweet. There's a convenience factor of having access to shops, restaurants, and a movie theater without having to go outside in the winter. But there are enough vagrants roaming the mall in the evening to make me a little uncomfortable.

Everything was great. Enjoyed the food very much. Place has an amazing vibe. Thanks to staff, they were very friendly.
Great hotel but location is a little sketchy. Upon entry you are given a warm cookie which was fabulous. The rooms are fresh and modern. Would have really enjoyed breakfast included but we went to Denny's.
We rented the meeting room for class, we also stayed at hotel room during class period. This is a new, modern, clean Hilton hotel. Overall, staff are very friendly and willing to help. We'll defiantly come back for business purpose
Great check in experience - front desk manager rocked! Great beard my man! Room is lovely, exactly what we wanted. Negative - $35/night Parking! Ran next door to the liquor store - thought I was on East Hastings! Tags & graffiti, Broken windows! People day tripping in the street, garbage everywhere, everyone asking for change. I get it homelessness and poverty everywhere BUT if I pay $200 for a room...
This is a nice hotel. We had a few challenges, in-room phone didn’t work, room service was challenging to order, but the staff was excellent and went above and beyond to help. The location is a little far to the east in downtown, but generally pretty convenient, especially if the weather is nice and you don’t mind walking.
Breakfast was amazing for the value, room was a great size and comfortable

Staff . The brunch was very good and the attention we had from the chef in regard to allergies was very much appreciated. The longe was vey accommodating in allowing our family to be together at numerous times throughout the whole weekend. The whole staff from dining room to lounge and valets were exceptional. Thanks to all of them. It allowed our family from Chicago, Victoria and Alberta to celebrate...
Hotel Macdonald is a beautiful well appointed hotel. As you get closer to the hotel is has the best views. The staff is absolutely incredible. So helpful and engaging. This is definitely the place to stay in the city. I have had the pleasure of visiting the entire collection of Fairmont hotels in Canada and this was the last one. I definitely saved this best experience for last! I can’t wait for my...
We went for a private event (a birthday party) and stayed for one night. The staff was very friendly and professional, both at the event and next morning at the restaurant for brunch. The buffet was amazingly good, with a lot of options. Kudos to our waitresses Corina, Yasmin and Claudia!
Brunch at the Empire Ballroom is the best in the city. There is no comparison. The seafood assortment is by far ahead of any other brunch in YEG. And the assortment is all exceptional quality. Service, as well, is top notch. You will pay a high price though to dine here. And reservations need to be booked well in advance. But for any special occasion, there is no better brunch I know of.
Great historic old world charm. I enjoyed the pool and Christmas decor. One of the main restaurants was closed as a result of Covid I assume. The location downtown is perfect. Close to the museum and NHL stadium. The parking location is a shared one and shows its age. Hard to navigate into and walk from. Needed a punch code to exit but was not provided one. At $ 40 a day it's quite steep. My bill came...
High tea in the Harvest Room was lovely! The food was delicious (scones were TDF!) and our server, Jacob, was the sweetest human ever—attentive and kind. He surprised all of us by bringing out a piece of cake with candles for our friends’ birthday and even volunteered to take our picture. Highly recommend for a special event! The views from the terrace just outside the dining room are spectacular.

Breakfast was amazing. Lots of variety for the whole family. The staff was very family and the hotel is in a perfect location.
My family and I stayed the night of June 23, 2023, and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and new, ans breakfast was delicious. The location was safe and convenient. Our kids and I enjoyed the pool in the morning, too.
We had two nights stay and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The pool area got busy at night. I was able to use the gym once but for a quick workout. The breakfast selection was ok and fresh. I liked the lounge area with the tea/coffee station. The staff was very friendly!
Not a bad place/price for a Hyatt place. Keep in mind they don’t really do room service unless requested and they seem to be only doing express room service. If you don’t drive then surrounding area has nothing much going for it though you can get to the Mall by bus or 30 minute walk. Breakfast is typical and not that special. My pet peeve is you have to grab your complimentary water bottles if you...
Make sure to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. This web site will compare countless hotel sites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later! Went here for a work function and as someone who does not drive this location is horrendous to reach on foot. The staff here were nice and kind. The venue looked nice and clean and generally it had a pretty good vibe going on. With that said I didn't have an opportunity to look at the rooms but for a work meeting it was alright.

Staying in the mall is ideal for a family trip and shopping
A lot happened outside of the hotel's control. Beware of the theme rooms - we weren't supposed to be in one but had to for 1 night. There was a step ladder to get into bed and I ended up falling out. We were fine after getting our normal room. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Convenience store said open 24 hours but isn't. Location is the best if you plan on just staying at the mall. We'll be...
The hotel was clean, amenities were great and the beds were comfy. The kids had a great time! What made this an excellent stay was the service we received from the staff. We had already checked out, and chose to keep our bags with the hotel while we spent the day shopping and having fun with the kids. Abrahim of Guest Services got our bags for us a couple of times during the day and when we were finally...
We came to fantasy land hotel to get away from winter for three days. We had a great experience. We loved the themed hotel rooms. The rooms are getting dated but little kids still love them. The L2 grill got rid of the buffet and their kids menu was not too kid friendly. Just look to eat out in the mall if trying to feed little kids. Finally we used valet parking. They were great especially when...

We requested an early check in which we understood might not be possible. When we did check in 2 hrs past regular check in they said our room wasn't ready and they would call us when it was, they never did. We had to cancel our dinner reservations as we were planning to get ready in our room. However the room was nice and the manager that eventually checked us in (Chelsey?) We came to Edmonton to visit friends and family and watch a hockey game. We had a great stay and hope to return in the future. The location and view were great. We could see Roger's Center from our room and walked to and from the game.
I had a great and memorable staying at Chateau Lacombe. It’s a unique and iconic hotel in town. It’s little bit old but they keep it very well. All the staff are very nice and kind specially the Bellman. He is so kind and welcoming! I had a great view from my room. It’s located in downtown Edmonton.
Extremely nice and caring people. Room was clean and temperature was perfect. Coffee amenities hit the spot as well. For a performing musician who played at the star lite down the road they hooked up an excellent deal as well. Highly recommend!
The value for the stay suited my needs. The location is perfect for what I required. It's could use some modern plugs for devices and phone charging. Parking should be included with your stay if you park outside unprotected!
The staff at this hotel are awesome. Very helpful and friendly. The rooms are nice, at least the ones I've stayed in on the concierge floor. The main floor restaurants however aren't that great. The buffet is overpriced for what u get. LA Ronde on the top floor is a nice restaurant with views and food that is a lot more upscale. The underground parking is tight and needs updating. However the early...
Fantastic experience! I booked my wife and her girlfriend a night away from the kids. Ike, with Chateau Lacombe, helped me through every step of the process seamlessly. There were multiple personal touches to help make it a special experience for my wife. The Concierge Level room was beautiful and the view was fantastic! Highly recommend!

Very comfortable, nice design, and a very good breakfast
My daughter and I stayed here last weekend and it was fabulous. Very clean, modern hotel with the best breakfast buffet ever (at no extra cost!). Family friendly and comfortable. The walls were a little thin so you could hear toilets flushing and sometimes people talking but that part didn’t bother us as people around us were quiet. The breakfast was the highlight for sure for us. Staff were very helpful...
Staff have been friendly and accommodating all trip. Rooms are clean, well kept, and the complimentary breakfast is amazing. A very huge shout out to Lauren at the front desk. I had a hypoglycemic episode and ran out of glucose tabs. She bought me candy, wanting nothing in return, just to know that I was going to be okay. She checked on me as I came in the next day. Lauren, you helped me feel safe...
Lovely stay in downtown Edmonton, close to the Oilers home ice. Breakfast is a must have. Beautiful buffet with something for everyone, including an espresso and cappuccino machine for a nice coffee break. Hotel room with accommodations was on the small side, but with only a double bed, there was plenty of room for me and my walker. The washroom could use better and more bar locations for safety...
Matrix Hotel was a partner hotel to our wedding Venue (The Foundry Room) and hooked up our entire extended family with a discount with most of our family coming from out of town. They also provided both of our wedding parties with rooms to get ready, enjoy some cocktails, shooting some photos and relax. Kate, the catering manager went above and beyond to make sure we had a private room for our guests...
Room was great, nice and clean. Private and quiet. Front desk lady was very helpful. The best breakfast which was included ever. Well done. A repair was done in the ceiling on day two which left a coating of drywall dust through the room. I should have said something. A very good experience over all.

Having both Dennys and the Chop attached to the hotel was great
I had the privilege of staying at this Hotel last week. Was welcomed very warmly by the guest service manager Nadia. The rooms were super nice and comfortable. The front desk manager Mr. Scott very calmly and politely assisted me at the time of check out. Nothing less than a 5 star experience.
The service was good and I would actually lean closer to 3 1/2 stars. The room had a faint smell of smoke. The sink in the bathroom was cracked and the counter-tops are terrible. They are impossible to clean as they are marked so badly with water drops and cup rings. I initially thought the room hadn't been cleaned The sofa was very soft like the springs had given way. The bed was very comfortable...
The service was incredible. It's hard to find great hotels that allow bigger sized dogs. The hotel and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable for us and our dog. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
We decided to go to the city for our anniversary and decided to stay at the Sandman signature in Edmonton south the service was amazing. Nadia at the front was wonderful and helped us with our rooms. I rarely leave a 5 star review but Nadia and the group at front helped make our night truly amazing and will remember our stay forever. I highly recommend staying here. Great food at chop, great...
We had an issue with the TV not working in the master suite. Disappointing as we were exhausted and wanting to watch a movie in bed. I called the front desk but because it was late the issue could not be resolved. The manager contacted in less than 48 hours and resolved the issue. Offer a partial refund and a free night stay. Excellent customer service. All in all the hotel was clean and comfortable...

The front desk host James went above and beyond to help me in my stay. I’m so thankful I was able to get a room last-minute on a game night with most of the city without vacancy. The Met is always a great hotel to stay at - clean, convenient location, professionally staffed, pleasing aesthetic - but James really made the stay for me.
For the rooms, nice size with comfortable beds, if the air conditioner worked it would have been great though, it the internet during our 3 day stay worked it would have been great also, first time in years no microwave in a room. For location, yes lots to do in the area but if you are a light sleeper the hip-hop boom boom goes till 1am every night. Used the valet parking, when I asked to be called...
My sisters and I spent 4 nights at Matterra and it was one of the best hotel experiences. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the room was clean and spacious. The location was perfect as we were able to walk to all kinds of food options. There are...
Good location on Whyte. Hotel is very clean. My room was spacious, warm and comfortable and had a nice view. The free buffet breakfast was pretty good and had a huge selection of hot & cold items. Check in and out was efficient. All the staff I came across were friendly and polite. Will definitely stay here again.
My wife and I travel to Edmonton often and when we do we almost always opt for the Metterra over other hotels. They're pet friendly which allows us to bring our dog travelling with us. While it's located on Whyte Ave and can at times be loud, I love that they provide ear plugs in every room in case you're a light sleeper. We love staying here in the summer, especially. The rooms have wonderful balconies...
Room was clean, staff is knowledgeable and helpful with knowing the area. So many amazing restaurants in the area walking distance. Fantastic coffee shop across the street. Lots of little pubs. Room size is perfect. The only negative I could say is that the hotel is located on a busy street which means it can be a bit noisy for some people, we didn't have an issue as we like the white noise to fall...

It can be tricky to access as it's right on a busy major intersection. Once you're in the hotel is easy to navigate. Standard conference room furniture and the layout was usable. Where they shine is with the food and service.
Hotel was nice - close to where I needed to be for work. A little disappointed that they didn’t have an executive lounge or even a market place to buy late night food from. However, they were very kind upon check in and as a titanium elite member they did upgrade me to a massive two floor suite. I would recommend a couple things: better coffee machines, don’t charge for parking and get a marketplace...
Nice place. Clean. Updated rooms. Efficient staff. A little expensive for me. Similar rooms can be found in Edmonton for considerably less. Don't understand a parking charge when the room price is already high. Conference facilities were good. Lunch was awesome. Breakfast had a couple of mistakes, but I guess that can happen.
Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and welcoming facility.
We had a reservation on Saturday night. Our awards night we were attending was actually at the hotel. Loved staying at this hotel. As an Elite Marriott member, I enjoy some perks/benefits.
