Where to stay in Edmonton

I'm not really impressed. Sorry. Dirty drawers with potato chips from previous tenant. Stains on bedspread. Really unfortunate because the hotel is huge and has great layout. Beautiful walkways and courtyard areas. Could use some improvements in housekeeping and maintenance to bring it back to former glory. Restaurant/lobby smelled of sewer too, and couldn't find anyone to seat us there for dinner...

Good hotel with clean and tidy rooms but old design and furniture. All equipment and furniture are very old but still in good condition. Strange window and very noisy heater. Only TV and clock are new in the room. But anyway everything is clean, renovated, and still works.

We have been to many conferences here and the conference area and catering are excellent. The hotel rooms, while clean, are not very soundproof. We did require a handicapped accessible room but were told they didn't have one. I did need my husband to push me through the entrance to the room as I couldn't get my hands to wheel through without losing some skin on the back of my hands and ended up stuck...

Rooms were clean and well-equipped. There was some water damage on the bathroom ceiling, but no evidence of mould. Front desk staff definitely needs some better training. Very friendly and kind, but didn't quite know what to do when a person booked 2 rooms.

Was put on a pet friendly floor. No problem with that except the fact that our room reeked of someone’s pet. Not only did it smell like several dogs stayed here it appeared that way as well. Pet hair fills the carpets, as well as our nose. We found it difficult to cope with the smell even with the window let open for the entire duration of our stay. The room was very clean as were the linen. The staff was very accommodating and made you feel like you were welcome and not just a room number. The parking was adequate. The room had a bidet and that was really a pleasant surprice, also the seat was heated so that was nice. Overall it was a great experience.

The room was great but they did not have certain things already in place, though you could request most things and they will have it delivered for you.

Spent $270 for the night. Expensive for not even having complimentary water bottles in the room. And didn't include free parking.

The hotel is located in downtown, and you can park for free in the underground parking lot. The hotel decoration is quite old, and there are few sockets in the room. There is only one socket except in the bathroom. The cleaning is average, and the pillows are high, which makes it uncomfortable to sleep. This is a rare chain hotel that does not even provide bottled water.

The room we were initially given was next to the equipment room, which was noisy at night. After reporting it to the front desk, we were moved to a larger suite on a similar floor. The hotel facilities are relatively old, but they are clean.

The room is large, with refrigerator and microwave. Very clean too.

The staff were very friendly and accommodated our every need.

It‘s nice to have a full window

The location is accessible to different public transport which is convenient for solo travellers. Also, it is in the middle of downtown area where restaurants and major establishments are located. Overall, chateau Lacombe is a good hotel to stay if you are planning to go in Edmonton.

I want to sincerely thank Double Tree Hotel and staff for providing us their conference room space for The Menopause Mission event on October 20. Good venue for a conference. The food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly/efficient. Rest rooms could have been maintained better. This surprised me a bit for a Hilton. There is lots of space for parking and it's nice to attend a hotel that's not downtown. Getting to and from the hotel from other sides of the city takes time, but just factor that in if you are not staying at the hotel.

Overall nice hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious. My only negatives are that my pillows were pretty terrible and I wish the TVs were smart so I could have logged into something for streaming. This place has everything you need and is a few minutes from everywhere. The pool and fitness room are west of the restaurant, AND THEY HAVE CHANGE ROOMS! Have stayed here multiple times when in Edmonton and the service has been exceptionally phenomenal from the front desk staff to the house keeping staff. A special shout out to the lions head pub and their staff for being so memorable and regular, making coming back feel like home. Definitely five star rating!

Clean rooms, a bit dated but comfy and quiet. The pool area is down in basement level 2, so very far from rooms. Felt very weird down there, no staff, some crumbling structures. Hot tub was under construction and torn apart. Hotel is a good location and affordable, but don't go for the pool.

Stayed last night and my check in was a little bit complicated (on my end). The gentleman who was assisting me was very professional and patient. He was kind the whole way through. Attending a conference and food was pretty decent but could have had better vegetarian options. Pretty dim, dusty and dank being in the basement ballroom for a full day but I guess that can't be helped. Staff were great, attentive and helpful. Parking was really easy.

There's no microwave in our room and some guests are still making lots of noise even if it's quiet time already. However, food was great, service is good and we had a great time staying at the hotel. We'll definitely come back again.

We went for a private event (a birthday party) and stayed for one night. The staff was very friendly and professional, both at the event and next morning at the restaurant for brunch. The buffet was amazingly good, with a lot of options. Kudos to our waitresses Corina, Yasmin and Claudia!

Brunch at the Empire Ballroom is the best in the city. There is no comparison. The seafood assortment is by far ahead of any other brunch in YEG. And the assortment is all exceptional quality. Service, as well, is top notch. You will pay a high price though to dine here. And reservations need to be booked well in advance. But for any special occasion, there is no better brunch I know of.

High tea in the Harvest Room was lovely! The food was delicious (scones were TDF!) and our server, Jacob, was the sweetest human ever—attentive and kind. He surprised all of us by bringing out a piece of cake with candles for our friends’ birthday and even volunteered to take our picture. Highly recommend for a special event! Parking lot was incredibly busy and hard to navigate. Too many Denny’s and Chop customers parking directly in front of the hotel. Consider restaurant parking and hotel parking differentiation?

The front desk clerks were amazing and the hotel is well run with great dining at Chop. The only issue was road noise in the night so we had to use ear plugs!

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were great. However, my husband and I got a Jacuzzi room and the countertops were stained beat up had water damage rings. I mean overall the room looked nice until you started looking at things that were damaged and beat up so it kind of blows my mind that $308 for this room a night. However overall was good.

I make it a point to stay at a Sandman Signature when I travel and I am never disappointed with the rooms or service. This stay however one front desk employee, Anna, went above and beyond to ensure a minor mistake that was made on check in was taken care of quickly and professionally. Overall this hotel is nice and clean. The restaurant is a bit overpriced. I would stay here again however not with a pet. We were put on the 6th floor with a dog. It was not ideal. There was no access to the stairs to go up unless an employee let you in. It is not ideal taking a small elevator with a dog. My family and I stayed the night of June 23, 2023, and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and new, ans breakfast was delicious. The location was safe and convenient. Our kids and I enjoyed the pool in the morning, too.

We had two nights stay and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The pool area got busy at night. I was able to use the gym once but for a quick workout. The breakfast selection was ok and fresh. I liked the lounge area with the tea/coffee station. The staff was very friendly!

Went here for a work function and as someone who does not drive this location is horrendous to reach on foot. The staff here were nice and kind. The venue looked nice and clean and generally it had a pretty good vibe going on. With that said I didn't have an opportunity to look at the rooms but for a work meeting it was alright.

We booked here last weekends and staffs are great. But the the only thing is the pool area and hot tub were too strong of chlorine. We just stayed only 5 minutes. My kids skin and I started irritated and started to itched.

Awesome location, super close to everything we wanted to do and see. The pool was perfect for a toddler, probably would be a bit boring for older kids unless you bring pool toys. The gentleman at reception was the most helpful funny amazing character. He started our stay off making us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and he answered all our questions before we even asked anything. The cost of the room was incredible low compared to other hotels. Room was clean and quite plus complementary bathroom supplies.
