The Waverley Hotel definitely has a lot of character and charm. Decor is decidedly Victorian, which means that it is by no means modern but we enjoyed our stay nevertheless. Great experience! We appreciated being close to the pier and water and walking all over the waterfront. The check in and check out was quick and we loved staying in a heritage building in late 1800s. It was also very quiet and not busy which we enjoyed.

The location of this hotel is the best part. Lots of stairs so be wary if you have mobility issues. The rooms are small but work for a few nights. Some areas can be noisy due to the blues club located behind it (ask for front of the house if possible). The library had a happy hour and the staff were delightful. Worth it to check it out.

2 adults and 1 senior with walker access needed. Great accommodations. Rooms were clean. Fully stocked with silverware, microwave, fridge/freezer. On ground level as requested. Bedding and towels are clean and in good condition. The complaint is about the tough smell of old carpet in the room and the strong smell of the cleaning products. Personally, I think the hotel was fine. Sure it looks a little sketchy from the outside, and it looks a little worn out in the rooms, but for the price, I think it’s a worth it. Room was clean outside of a random empty beer can, and we got lots of towels. Card didn’t work all the time, but they fixed it for us. :)

Great location, very friendly staff at check in. I'm leaving early in the morning, before breakfast, and staff dropped off a breakfast to-go bag for me. My room is right at the front of the building, so it's a bit noisy with the front door, but that's to be expected with an older building like this. It's nice to stay in a place with some individual charm instead of a generic hotel room.

Price was good and so we got this room for our stay here but when we reached in evening the hotel entrance was locked and there seemed to be no one to receive us. Eventually a person turned up and let us in. The rooms were ok. Parking was available. Reception was not 24/7 or atleast we didn’t see it.

5 minutes to Halifax Shopping Center and a walking distance to major bus routes. I gotta agree with some of the previous comments, it was dated but really clean. Definitely worth the price. A no-frills, comfortable stay.

This hotel is situated at the top of a hill so, having a vehicle is absolutely necessary to gain access to the hotel. If one wishes to stay at this particular hotel without a vehicle there are stairs just outside of the hotel that can be used to get to the top of the hill however, these stairs are steep and built on a rocky terrain. A pretty good hotel just off the highway. The rooms are pretty nice and clean. The AC in our room however was capped at 18 - a good temperature but our room never made it down to 18. We have stayed here multiple times. Very close to the bridge. Cozy and clean, staff is very helpful. Breakfast is sufficient and the kids live the pancake maker. The rooms are all a good size and the beds are very comfortable. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice affordable visit.

Staff and management were super and went over and above to address our concerns from the room The parent company really needs to work on hiring more staff as the current ones are being overworked to the point that they are not able to fulfill all the duties in the time allotted. The hotel is in a great location opposite the Citadel and near restaurants, tourist attractions, the waterfront, etc. The room was very clean and spacious . The staff were helpful, polite, and friendly. I enjoyed the rooftop patio on Saturday night. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean and comfortable room with gorgeous views of the Halifax harbour. The hosts are amazing, the breakfasts were excellent and nutritious. This was our first stop on our first trip to Nova Scotia and we couldn't have made a better choice! The room has everything you need and the nautical decor is rich with local history! Room was comfortable and clean. Parking was directly in front of our first floor room. Very convenient drive to Halifax Harbour. On-site staff 24 hours plus had a restaurant attached but unfortunately we did not have time to try it.

Onsite restaurant serves a decent, standard low cost breakfast. Been twice and both times got what was expected, a typical “diner style” offering. Bathroom was located next to the front desk in the motel, could definitely use an update. Have never stayed at the property, only eaten at the restaurant.

Very peaceful area. As I was sitting on the bench outside drinking a coffee I seen a fox run by. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to others.
