Waverley Inn
Halifax, 1266 Barrington Street 🧭 Map
Great location. Rooms are not big but very comfortable and clean. Property has so much characteristics. I also especially liked the snack table with tea/ coffee always available. Walls may be a little thin due to property being historic but the clientele isn’t of partying nature so it was not a problem. Unfortunately property has no elevator so it’ll be hard for those that have trouble carrying their...
The Waverley Hotel definitely has a lot of character and charm. Decor is decidedly Victorian, which means that it is by no means modern but we enjoyed our stay nevertheless. Despite being on the smaller side, our room had cute little touches and was very comfortable. Similarly, the hallways are decorated with interesting relics and antiques. The location is great...everything we wanted to see and do...
It was a charming historical house. The bed was comfortable but the room may feel small for people who are used to a big hotel chain. I love the architectural details in the house. Breakfast was great. It is walking distance to Halifax waterfront. Be prepared to walk up and down hills. Lovely stay. Also, free parking.
This was not the hotel I picked for my trip to Halifax but my husband talked me into it and I'm so glad he did!! The staff have all been amazing and the place is absolutely beautiful. My room is small but cozy and has everything I need. The bed is almost comfier than my own. The attention to detail is spectacular, the furniture and decorations are so beautiful, you really feel like you've stepped back...
Beautiful inn, with lots of old decor, and chilled out atmosphere. The reception staff were all exceptional, and they were helpful with every request. They let us keep our rental parked on our last day after check-out while we walked around Halifax before our flight. Breakfast in the basement was good! The rooms could use a touch of minimalism to make them more comfortable, and the air conditioning...
Very stylish and chic. Gorgeous antique furnishings. Wonderful staff. Super comfortable beds. Decorated for Christmas amazingly. Quiet salon for chess, chatting and drinking complimentary tea, coffee, hot apple cider by the huge tree.

Classic boutique hotel. Loved our suite and the hotel's back garden. Friendly efficient staff. Excellent location, two blocks from the waterfront.
Honestly - I’m not sure why you’d book anywhere else for your stay in Halifax if you like a friendly atmosphere in a historic setting. The Halliburton is a collection of old homes on Morris Street converted into a boutique hotel. Parking in back, with easy access from Morris Street as well. Comfortable rooms abound in this former college law school property. Easy walk to the piers and downtown...
Great experience! We appreciated being close to the pier and water and walking all over the waterfront. The check in and check out was quick and we loved staying in a heritage building in late 1800s. It was also very quiet and not busy which we enjoyed.
The location of this hotel is the best part. Lots of stairs so be wary if you have mobility issues. The rooms are small but work for a few nights. Some areas can be noisy due to the blues club located behind it (ask for front of the house if possible). The library had a happy hour and the staff were delightful. Worth it to check it out.
No elevator. But I love this place!!! The staffs are nice and friendly. The room is beautiful and delicate. Having breakfast beside the window is so enjoyable and the bed n pillows are really comfy… make me fall asleep quickly. The water stream of the shower is big and feel so relaxing . The only thing I don’t like is the room doesn’t have many spots to charge.. especially when my charger is not usb...

Affordable and exactly what we paid for. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was on the second floor and we opted to take the stairs up and down as it was closer than to the elevator. The room was dated but clean. Loved the dated range and fridge! The hallway smelled of smoke but it didn't get into our room. Our stay came with breakfast on the main floor and it was quite simple...
2 adults and 1 senior with walker access needed. Great accommodations. Rooms were clean. Fully stocked with silverware, microwave, fridge/freezer. On ground level as requested. Breakfast had a range of hot/cold cereal, variety of bread products, yogurt, coffee, juices and fresh fruit to name a few. We will be back again in the spring.
Bedding and towels are clean and in good condition. The complaint is about the tough smell of old carpet in the room and the strong smell of the cleaning products. Good breakfast with reasonable variety of choices, very convenient when you travel with kids. Nice and polite service. The location is convenient, but it is near an industrial zone.
I wasn’t expecting much based on the reviews but our stay was more pleasant than anticipated. Our room was massive which was great when travelling with a family of 5. We had a suite with a living room and separate bedroom .The beds were very comfortable as was the pull out couch. It was very quiet. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. The location was great- we used the ferry which...
Personally, I think the hotel was fine. Sure it looks a little sketchy from the outside, and it looks a little worn out in the rooms, but for the price, I think it’s a worth it. Room was clean outside of a random empty beer can, and we got lots of towels. Card didn’t work all the time, but they fixed it for us. :)
You pay what you get for. Rooms were clean enough, carpet had some spots that gave away it needs a good clean, but other than that no complaints. Heater/ AC works good, lots of towels. Dishes provided too.

Great location, very friendly staff at check in. I'm leaving early in the morning, before breakfast, and staff dropped off a breakfast to-go bag for me. My room is right at the front of the building, so it's a bit noisy with the front door, but that's to be expected with an older building like this. It's nice to stay in a place with some individual charm instead of a generic hotel room.
Wonderful staff. Perfect location, can walk to all the best places. Great price. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful building. Inside needs some maintenance, noticeable wear and tear.
The staff was accommodating and very helpful. Great location. I love that they have saved a beautiful home.
Feel authentic older Inn. Comfortable. Location is great. Can walk to the boardwalk and back easily.
Staff is very nice and helpful. Room has its own atmosphere, building as well, which is taking us back in time. Would definitely recommend it. Also a good value for money.
Clean, great location, just right for the stay.

Price was good and so we got this room for our stay here but when we reached in evening the hotel entrance was locked and there seemed to be no one to receive us. Eventually a person turned up and let us in. The rooms were ok. Parking was available. Reception was not 24/7 or atleast we didn’t see it.
We stayed here 2 weeks ago.The main reason was the price as I found hotel accommodation in Halifax very expensive with very few choices under$200 per night. The hotel has a very helpful staff and you can tell that the place is being upgraded. The front desk has someone on 24 hours and there are many security cameras monitoring the car park and entrances. The room was clean the bed comfortable. The...
The room was a bit dated and had a 70's vibe, but for me that's fine, I enjoy that kind of thing. It was very clean, spacious, and the internet was fast, I don't need anything else. Staff at the front was very friendly.
5 minutes to Halifax Shopping Center and a walking distance to major bus routes. I gotta agree with some of the previous comments, it was dated but really clean. Definitely worth the price. A no-frills, comfortable stay.

An old building in the old city, the hotel is under renovation. Strangely, the hotel requires a 200 yuan cash deposit
Awesome stay ,Nice people, will recommend all my frds and family members
Always stay here great service
Decent hotel, clean and friendly staff. In a very noisy neighborhood; loud people in nearby business, lots of traffic. Parking behind the hotel is not enough for the quantity of rooms. Price is adequate, could find a better deal a tad outside this area.
Loved the location. Downstairs rooms are smaller than the upstairs rooms. 2 roof top patios. The people who work there were all very friendly and professional. Loved my stay.

This hotel is situated at the top of a hill so, having a vehicle is absolutely necessary to gain access to the hotel. If one wishes to stay at this particular hotel without a vehicle there are stairs just outside of the hotel that can be used to get to the top of the hill however, these stairs are steep and built on a rocky terrain. There are 40 steps in the staircase and during wet weather these stairs...
A pretty good hotel just off the highway. The rooms are pretty nice and clean. The AC in our room however was capped at 18 - a good temperature but our room never made it down to 18. It's very well priced and has a small breakfast every morning. The stairs are WAY faster than waiting for the very old elevator. Overall it's a solid hotel
A bit out of the way, but has ample parking ,if you have to commute over. Somewhat dated, but comfy. 10 minute drive to downtown Halifax and close to food, shopping, military bases, etc.
There are always pros and cons. I'll start with the cons. Coffee packets provided in the room were unsatisfactory. Two packets provided, no tea, no decaf. They almost tasted stale and poorly flavoured. Definitely on the cheap. King bed was uncomfortably hard. View of the city was very nice on one side of the hotel, our side was unfortunately of the parking lot, but not much you can do about that. The...
Great price and friendly staff. The room is bigger than I thought and even the pull out bed is comfy!
We have stayed here multiple times. Very close to the bridge. Cozy and clean, staff is very helpful. Breakfast is sufficient and the kids live the pancake maker. The rooms are all a good size and the beds are very comfortable. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice affordable visit.

Renovated rooms, very clean. Service was great. Hot breakfast was wonderful (eggs, sausage and ham, make-your-own waffles, coffee, juice). So good. Went for a visit to IWK. Worked well but traffic was slow in the morning at this location.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Comfort Inn Hotel, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home thanks to the warm and welcoming staff. The check-in process was swift and efficient, leaving me with ample time to settle into my well-appointed room. Speaking of the room, I was incredibly impressed with the cleanliness...
Basic hotel, basic service; no complaints. We stayed for 4 days with 2 dogs and it was great that they had a walking park in the back. We didn't use to pool or facilities. Best park of the hotel was the price, and that it is almost equidistant between downtown, Bedford, Dartmouth and Clayton Park so it's about 10-15 mins to get to get pretty much anywhere by car. Although there really isn't anything...
Room quality was basic but good, free wifi, oddly enough the cell reception isn't great in this spot for some reason. Free breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, tater tots, selection of bread, yoghurt, fruit, and oatmeal. View of the basin at the front is very nice. Great value.
I had a very nice stay at this Comfort Inn. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast had lots of hot and cold, sweet and savoury options. It's pet-friendly, and there's an entrance to a huge nature park right behind the hotel. I found the off-season price to be reasonable. Be aware that the Bedford Highway can get quite busy, and there's no sidewalk, so it's best to have a car...
Staff and management were super and went over and above to address our concerns from the room The parent company really needs to work on hiring more staff as the current ones are being overworked to the point that they are not able to fulfill all the duties in the time allotted. Also huge kudos to the kitchen/ breakfast staff who keep that hot breakfast fully stocked and delicious.

It is excellent location and the staff are friendly and helpful. Facility is beautiful. About the only thing I’m not crazy about is the parking...... it is confusing to find the way to the lobby.....better signage would be helpful.
We stayed here on our anniversary trip and fell in love with this hotel! The staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful. The location is great, close to restaurants, tourist attractions, medical centers and many businesses. Underground parking us avaliable for quite a high rate, but it is convenient. On-site underground paid parking. Which smells amazing! Not sure what is pumped into the air but it's so clean. Doesn't smell like a parking garage at all. The entrance into the hotel is breathtaking. The chandeliers, gold accents, ceilings, art, seating etc.. it's stunning. We had the suite and were welcomed with a nice arrival gift. Great location if you want to be in downtown core! Older hotel with so much charm and grace. Rooms are a bit smaller than newer hotels. Ask for a clean room. Room I stayed in was hair on the pillow, sheets and towels. Even though the room is non smoking as requested, found a lighter under the pillow. Clearly house keeping is not doing their job. Nice floors though.

Room was comfortable and clean. Parking was directly in front of our first floor room. Very convenient drive to Halifax Harbour. On-site staff 24 hours plus had a restaurant attached but unfortunately we did not have time to try it.
Food was very good. Did not stay in room
Not the greatest location, but if you want an awesome breakfast this is the place! Good wholesome food at reasonable prices with great wait staff.
Onsite restaurant serves a decent, standard low cost breakfast. Been twice and both times got what was expected, a typical “diner style” offering. Bathroom was located next to the front desk in the motel, could definitely use an update. Have never stayed at the property, only eaten at the restaurant.
Very good breakfast. Great price and very good food. Has a cozy home feeling to it. Table is a bit small 2 people and the coffee is not the best. This is not a quiet place in the breakfast times as it is popular and gets very busy.
