The Prince George Hotel, Halifax1 / 50
9.1
Halifax, 1725 Market Street 🧭 Map
We had an amazing stay at The Prince George Hotel! We were treated exceptionally well, the pool area was a great addition. The location is perfect as we were there with family for the Royal Tattoo! We will definitely be back. Thanks! Two Lost Souls Travel @travel_twolostsouls
Good quality hotel in good location downtown halifax. Easy access to Monument hill. The waterfront is downhill about 2-3 blocks. Nice indoor pool. Breakfast was about $20, not included but a pretty good value. It is included if your in a suite. Self parking in underground hotel garage was $24. with elevator into hotel.
Service was excellent for a hotel of its age. I am certain fifty years ago this location was the place to be seen. Though, after four days across the street at Sutton Place, this was disappointing for our last-minute extension stay in the city. Overall, I'd stay across the street at Sutton Place over here if they have the space.
Quiet large king bed suite. We arrived rather late and a loud party was going on - atypical, but as a result of recent forest fires, the partygoers venue was closed. Anyway, our room remained very quiet. HVAC was quiet and on target. Staff greeted us courteously, helpfully and promptly. On site parking is convenient, and the spaces are large, but the aisles are tight. Not familiar with Halifax, we...
Pillows are big and round and huge. I think if offering 4 pillows offer some flatter ones for back sleepers as well since it’s impossible to sleep on them as a back sleeper. Hallway and rooms showing it’s age - but not bad. Amazing location and we had a limited view harbour facing room so no street noise. HVAC and upstairs shower were clearly audible though.
The hotel is beautiful and clean. Very helpful staff. The pool was a bonus. Everything is in walking distance from the hotel. It’s very hilly in Halifax and the hotel is up on the top of the hill just one road away from the Citadel and main areas. loads of eating and drinking places near the hotel too. Would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Halifax.

It is a tired looking hotel and needs investment from the owners to bring it back to its former glory. The staff do their best and we had a comfortable stay. We would stay there again.
Boutique hotel very near to Atlantic super store. Bus number 62 comes near the hotel. Tim Hortons/McDonald's/ sobeys are just 10 min walk around
This is a small Inn and great value for money. My room was very clean from the bed linens to the washrooms. The grab and go breakfast was well done with a muffin, nutri bar, fruit cup and yogurt. Staff were efficient and helpful. The location is great next door to the Superstore and easy access to downtown and the highway. My room was huge with a fridge, microwave and toaster oven. The bed was super...
My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Hearthstone Inn and if you're visiting Halifax on a budget then it's definitely somewhere that I would recommend checking out for accommodation. The rooms are spacious and are well-equipped for a short-term stay. The location is great and it's only a short 15-minute drive to downtown Halifax with just a few turns. There is parking available at the...
Ask for a clean room. Room I stayed in was hair on the pillow, sheets and towels. Even though the room is non smoking as requested, found a lighter under the pillow. Clearly house keeping is not doing their job. Nice floors though.
The staff at this place is amazing! They really went above and beyond to help us out when we had a booking issue. I've never had such fantastic service at a hotel. Very impressed.

Great place! Great atmosphere! Rooms are cleaned and well maintained very comfortable and friendly service… I only stayed here every time I came to Nova Scotia. One of my vacation I booked with another hotel in Halifax it was horrible, immediately I checked out and booked with Comfort Inn .
Very comfortable room. Quite spacious. Ground floor, king room 127. Parking space right outside the room. Sliding glass doors make moving luggage in and out very easy. Mini fridge and microwave with desk, chair and easy chair with stool. Somewhat lacking in plugs but we made it work with an extension cord. Nice water pressure in the shower. Basic breakfast with good coffee however the scrambled eggs...
Hotel was quiet, and clean. Not far from restaurants, and shopping. Staff were friendly and helpful.
A nice place to stay the night. Relatively affordable price compared to other places in HRM. Room was nice, and clean. Lots of parking. Service was great and friendly. Breakfast was basic but solid.
Rooms are clean and affordable, and the personal is very helpful and friendly..unfortunately, it's a little off the main roads and proverbial beaten path
I stayed here for almost a week. Room is Super Comfy and Clean. In my room, i had 2 queen beds Bathroom is clean, mattresses are comfy, just right for someone with back problem. You'll always have a plentiful Breakfast here. They serve sausage and scrambled egg every morning. Fresh self service waffle in 2 flavors. Toast and of course a lot of coffee!

Location is fantastic. Central in downtown. Breakfast was lovely!
The staff were very courteous and helpful. The continental breakfast was good. The room was clean and had all the things we needed to feel at home. One of the elevators was broken, but the staff were helpful in bringing the luggage down the stairs. There was no available parking space underground. We had to park on the street. But these are minor issues. Overall, the stay was great. A bit of noise...
Rooms are spacious with many features to use. We were comfortable and enjoyed it (5 Stars). Service overall was great in terms of friendly/knowledgeable staff and what resources are made available (including breakfast which was great). Lost a Star as the parking spaces available do not seem to match the number of rooms that can be booked. Street parking seemed to be common for a few guests during...
We had a wonderful 6-night stay at this hotel. The staff was absolutely excellent – kind, helpful, and genuinely nice people. Our room was equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, which we loved. The left side of the bed was incredibly comfortable, but the right side had a noticeable dent in the middle, which was a bit disappointing. However, the bathroom was clean and comfortable to use. One thing...
Overall visit was positive. Room was larger than expected. Came with mini kitchen, fridge, etc. Was very comfortable and clean. The only thing I disliked was that the toilet would run constantly and loudly if you were not diligent about pushing the lever all the way up, and if you pushed the lever up too soon it wouldnt flush properly and would act like it was plugged. So you would have to flush...
Central location downtown close to almost everything. Walking distance to waterfront and most attractions. Is close to pizza corner, can be a bit loud on summer weekends but we didn’t mind or get bothered. Room was super nice and clean. Had all you needed and more. Full equipped, comfy bed and breakfast was actually really nice. Coffee was spot on. Staff were helpful and friendly. Made it feel accommodating...

Four Points by Sheraton Halifax, Halifax1 / 48
Halifax, 1496 Hollis Street 🧭 Map
Can't blame 4 Points for their location or parking situation. They have to lease a block of parking from a parking garage next door, and that's all they can really do, what with being on a downtown corner. They charge $30 + tax per night for overnight parking. Upon leaving, the parking machine asked me to pay again. I hit the intercom button, 5 rings, got a voicemail. Hit the intercom button again...
Decent hotel in downtown Halifax. Rooms are a bit dated but overall very clean and spacious. Location is fantastic, directly in the heart of Halifax. I'd recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Halifax.
We had a pleasant stay at Four Points. Pranav on front desk was very helpful and professional and very welcoming. Room was very clean and beds were comfy. Room might need some upgradation, however having said that the room had everything. Definitely will be staying again at Four Points when back in Halifax. The hotel location is perfect if you want to waterfront or to bars.
I’ve been here for 2 sleeps so far and I obviously sleep well at this hotel but on both occasions I’ve been woken by people talking loudly in the hallways and not because I woke up. Carpets are thin and there isn’t enough insulation under the doors which, if you don’t make an effort and just let them go, slam shut loudly. The gym is decent for a hotel but now the equipment is being broken by kids that...
This was a great hotel. The location was perfect and the on-site parking was great. The staff was epic, like next level wonderful from their booking center to the staff just amazing. The room was nice, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was wonderful, nice and comfy. There is also a pretty darn good little gym. The only complaint was the pillows were too soft, no support even...

We recently stayed here for two nights and we really enjoyed our stay. You can't have a better location, stunning view and you can walk to almost anything from the hotel. The room is spacious, with a couch, desk and very comfortable bed and very clean. The hotel was recently renovated and is located in a historic building so a bit different than a standard Courtyard but you have the usual amazing...
We recently stayed here for two nights with our 3 children. The location can’t be beat. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. We stayed on the concierge floor and had access to the lounge for breakfast and dinner. Great food and service!
NOTE: FOR this review, I am reviewing the building from 21 years ago, back then this was not a Marriott, rather it was a Sheraton Hotel. For my 9th Birthday, I had asked to go to a hotel just to get out of the house. We did that. The hotel my father chose was this one, the best thing about this hotel is that for a very small amount of the rooms, you have two doors, one door is the traditional door...
Stayed 3 nights. Rooms: No issues. What was expected, which is a very good thing. Parking: Straightforward, never too full Location: Hard to beat Extras: No upgrades unfortunately, but front desk was really flexible with my booking (i extended my stay). Minus: the water advisory
As a Marriott loyal traveller I do stay at Marriott hotels around the world., At this location I was blown away by cleanliness , level of service and attention to details. Rooms: I stayed in one of the harbour view room that was recently renovated with new carpet, furniture and new bathroom. View from the room was breathtaking and very comfortable bed. Great location….poolside room was great except it had two double beds. We celebrated our anniversary there and upon arrival in our room there was a special gift and a card signed by individual staff members,.

The service here is good. Prompt and professional. But this hotel is advertised as a 4 star hotel and frankly I think that’s ridiculous. The room and bathroom (although clean) are very dated. This is basically a holiday inn express. Also, there is a distinct (somewhat unpleasant) odor when entering my room. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but advertising this establishment as a 4 star hotel...
My husband and I spent one night at this hotel and will book again when we return to Halifax. Easy exit from 4 lane Rooms clean and comfortable Reception on front desk very welcoming The breakfast was excellent and the one thing we liked was it was served to us instead of buffet style, not people handling utensils and breathing over the food. Very nicely done We would recommend this hotel.
Staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well kept. Great breakfast selection. The hotel is conveniently located next to a Tom Hortons and is a short drive from many other amenities. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic Hotel To be honest, I have been to hotels in many cities, and the front desk reception at many hotels is in a smile mode. However, the front desk reception at this hotel really handles my stay from the bottom of them heart and sincerely, answering my doubts. The smile and gaze are definitely not deceiving. I really like this hotel I arrived at the hotel in the evening, and the front...
Clean and daily room service to freshen towels and bed. Front desk folks are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is the highlight, the waitstaff serve you from the buffet and offer sausage, eggs, bacon, omlettes, fruits, bagels and toast. There is coffee 24 hours and tea in the morning. I've been to many hotels and this one really stood out as far as breakfast and customer service! As some...
The breakfast had many options! The room was clean and spacious. We ended up with a pet friendly room, but it didn't smell like animals thankfully.
The location is right there off the main thoroughfare, that’s very convenient to me. The breakfast buffet was superb! The bed was big and comfortable, and everything worked in the room properly as well the bathroom was great too. Yes this hotel was very neat and clean. The staff were very polite and helpful.

Decent hotel, clean and friendly staff. In a very noisy neighborhood; loud people in nearby business, lots of traffic. Parking behind the hotel is not enough for the quantity of rooms. Price is adequate, could find a better deal a tad outside this area.

I’m staying for several nights, and then traveling, and will return before I depart Halifax. So far the staff has been incredible, and most gracious. The Harborview is lovely, and best of all of the windows open!!!! The bathrooms are small and I prefer rooms without carpet, and sometimes there’s a slight lingering odor. Super clean room and excellent linens and towels. Scott the bartender is great...
Had a great week here for a work conference. The prices are comparable to other water front hotels in tourist spots. I had great service from food and beverage staff, and the housekeeping staff was amazing too. Great view of the Harbour, close enough to walk to great restaurants and bars. Only negative thing I can think of was the climate control in the room. I could not get it to stay at a comfortable...
Great hotel, with a perfect walkable location. I was extremely happy to see their dine-in options at Seaport Social have lots for vegans to choose from, including vegan french toast and a tofu hash brown plate. Room service also includes a great bean burger. Would highly recommend this hotel for vegans & for anyone looking for great service and location.
Fantastic experience! This is not a new hotel but very clean and neat. I chose this hotel as the last stop of my trip and it was very smart! All staffs were friendly, got a welcoming card and gifts from the general manager.
Best thing about this hotel was the service. I was able to check in at 7am as my room was already available. So grateful for that, as I had not slept on the red eye flight to Halifax. Also a lovely comfy room, beautiful lobby, great restaurant, amazing location with a great view at the harbour. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.
I loved that they helped us celebrate our anniversary by bringing us chocolate covered strawberries, sparkling water, and a card wishing us a happy anniversary.

Sorry to hear about the abuse you are getting for rejecting a homeless person. I have and will always do the same thing. Please refer to the Innkeepers Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. I.7 when it comes to the media. What you did is 100% legal and warranted. The man did not have a valid ID or a credit card. It is hotel policy to have that for security purposes. If I was the Stardust Motel I would be suing...
It's a motel. What else is there to say? Stay here if you just need a place for the night - not for multiple nights/ luxury. Pricey for what you get but location is decent. Little weirded out that the door windows don't have curtains - so if people looked closely You're wide open to the world. They have some sort of privacy "tinting" but we could see anyone walking by clear as day from the bed. Walls...
It was the first time my son had ever been on a get away, he really enjoyed it..thought he was in his own apartment haha it was a great experience! Great coffee too!!
Clean room, air conditioned, quiet, free parking, professional and courteous service. I don't know what else would one want. Also, big fridge, kitchenette and did I say all of this for less than 130 cad ( booked last minute),
What a delightful surprise. I payed for a ‘cheap motel’, as I just needed a place to sleep for 7 hrs, and I expected a worn and dated room, and instead what I got is an impeccably clean room that looks freshly renovated with a comfortable King bed and an immaculately spotless bathroom with a deep tub that looks brand new. EDIT- Although my initial impressions of the establishment were very positive...
It's a nice cozy place just at the Bedford Highway. The owner is really nice & the rooms are well maintained. Sobeys, and other eateries are around 10 minutes walking distance.

The location is great, close to restaurants, tourist attractions, medical centers and many businesses. Underground parking us avaliable for quite a high rate, but it is convenient. I chose to stay here for three reasons: 1. Price 2. Location 3. Dog friendly. I am happy I ended up staying here as the staff were super friendly. Me and my husband come here for our anniversary. This year was the 3rd year doing it. It's always been a great time. Staff have always been friendly. We never had an issue. During our stay this time they had 2 gentlemen redoing some of the rooms. They were even friendly! Price was always good until the renovations started. Little nervous about returning again. Before the place had a nice homey feel...
Pretty good hotel overall. -Room was clean -Bed was very comfortable. -The comforter and mattress cover are SO soft and comfortable I took pictures of the tags to try and buy some for myself. -Property clean and the lobby and wooden staircase were charming. -My only small complaint/'area of improvement' is that the pillows were small and very lumpy. We asked for a couple more but the guy at the desk...
Great TV reception w/plenty of channels. Clean bathroom! Good internet-no issues. Great FD staff! Decent breakfast. Lots of parking.

It's a good property. All amenities are nice for the price.
Great location. Right downtown. The carpeting in the corridors really need replacing. Room was great- fridge, sofa, office desk and I had a great view of the ocean. Staff/Service was spot on. The Canvas Restaurant located on the property serves a reasonable fare. I stated away from the breakfast except for the fresh fruit.
Cambridge suites is an excellent hotel! One of the best in the city. Location is great, close to lots of amazing restaurants, bars, things to do. Everything is within walking distance. Parking is heated & easily accessible. The rooms are spacious, updated & clean! Employees are friendly & respond quickly to any requests! The complimentary breakfast was amazing! Lots to choose from & fresh food. We...
One of the nicest hotel staff I’ve experienced in a while! (And I travel a lot for work) Every single member of the team is willing to help, and with an urgency. Breakfast is until 11am: a nice perk! The bed is comfortable. Sink has very hot water and good water pressure overall. The pillows are a little big (tall). And just a few minutes walk from the water. I would stay here again if traveling through...
Exceptional value. The breakfast buffet had all we wanted (oatmeal, muffins, eggs, pancakes, fruit, a variety of beverages. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. Everything was sparkling clean and the bed was great. The location was very convenient to all the attractions we wanted to see, and many restaurants are nearby.
First, I would definitely book a room without a doubt. In the order of what matters to me. Bed: great, Location: Fantastic, WiFi: this is the weakest thing. For me, the connection dropped a few times over 4 days so not bad. Hot water: great, Staff: FULLY STAFFED and they were all warm and professional. The continental breakfast was good. One odd thing, the in room coffee cups were too tall for the...

Classic boutique hotel. Loved our suite and the hotel's back garden. Friendly efficient staff. Excellent location, two blocks from the waterfront.
Honestly - I’m not sure why you’d book anywhere else for your stay in Halifax if you like a friendly atmosphere in a historic setting. The Halliburton is a collection of old homes on Morris Street converted into a boutique hotel. Parking in back, with easy access from Morris Street as well. Comfortable rooms abound in this former college law school property. Easy walk to the piers and downtown...
Great experience! We appreciated being close to the pier and water and walking all over the waterfront. The check in and check out was quick and we loved staying in a heritage building in late 1800s. It was also very quiet and not busy which we enjoyed.
The location of this hotel is the best part. Lots of stairs so be wary if you have mobility issues. The rooms are small but work for a few nights. Some areas can be noisy due to the blues club located behind it (ask for front of the house if possible). The library had a happy hour and the staff were delightful. Worth it to check it out.
No elevator. But I love this place!!! The staffs are nice and friendly. The room is beautiful and delicate. Having breakfast beside the window is so enjoyable and the bed n pillows are really comfy… make me fall asleep quickly. The water stream of the shower is big and feel so relaxing . The only thing I don’t like is the room doesn’t have many spots to charge.. especially when my charger is not usb...
