The Prince George Hotel, Halifax1 / 24High rating

Halifax, 1725 Market Street 🧭 Map
We had an amazing stay at The Prince George Hotel! We were treated exceptionally well, the pool area was a great addition. The location is perfect as we were there with family for the Royal Tattoo! We will definitely be back. Thanks! Two Lost Souls Travel @travel_twolostsouls
Good quality hotel in good location downtown halifax. Easy access to Monument hill. The waterfront is downhill about 2-3 blocks. Nice indoor pool. Breakfast was about $20, not included but a pretty good value. It is included if your in a suite. Self parking in underground hotel garage was $24. with elevator into hotel.
Service was excellent for a hotel of its age. I am certain fifty years ago this location was the place to be seen. Though, after four days across the street at Sutton Place, this was disappointing for our last-minute extension stay in the city. Overall, I'd stay across the street at Sutton Place over here if they have the space.
Quiet large king bed suite. We arrived rather late and a loud party was going on - atypical, but as a result of recent forest fires, the partygoers venue was closed. Anyway, our room remained very quiet. HVAC was quiet and on target. Staff greeted us courteously, helpfully and promptly. On site parking is convenient, and the spaces are large, but the aisles are tight. Not familiar with Halifax, we...
Pillows are big and round and huge. I think if offering 4 pillows offer some flatter ones for back sleepers as well since it’s impossible to sleep on them as a back sleeper. Hallway and rooms showing it’s age - but not bad. Amazing location and we had a limited view harbour facing room so no street noise. HVAC and upstairs shower were clearly audible though.
The hotel is beautiful and clean. Very helpful staff. The pool was a bonus. Everything is in walking distance from the hotel. It’s very hilly in Halifax and the hotel is up on the top of the hill just one road away from the Citadel and main areas. loads of eating and drinking places near the hotel too. Would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Halifax.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. The continental breakfast was good. The room was clean and had all the things we needed to feel at home. One of the elevators was broken, but the staff were helpful in bringing the luggage down the stairs. There was no available parking space underground. We had to park on the street. But these are minor issues. Overall, the stay was great. A bit of noise...
Rooms are spacious with many features to use. We were comfortable and enjoyed it (5 Stars). Service overall was great in terms of friendly/knowledgeable staff and what resources are made available (including breakfast which was great). Lost a Star as the parking spaces available do not seem to match the number of rooms that can be booked. Street parking seemed to be common for a few guests during...
We had a wonderful 6-night stay at this hotel. The staff was absolutely excellent – kind, helpful, and genuinely nice people. Our room was equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, which we loved. The left side of the bed was incredibly comfortable, but the right side had a noticeable dent in the middle, which was a bit disappointing. However, the bathroom was clean and comfortable to use. One thing...
Overall visit was positive. Room was larger than expected. Came with mini kitchen, fridge, etc. Was very comfortable and clean. The only thing I disliked was that the toilet would run constantly and loudly if you were not diligent about pushing the lever all the way up, and if you pushed the lever up too soon it wouldnt flush properly and would act like it was plugged. So you would have to flush...
Central location downtown close to almost everything. Walking distance to waterfront and most attractions. Is close to pizza corner, can be a bit loud on summer weekends but we didn’t mind or get bothered. Room was super nice and clean. Had all you needed and more. Full equipped, comfy bed and breakfast was actually really nice. Coffee was spot on. Staff were helpful and friendly. Made it feel accommodating...
Friendly staff, location great—close to everything. Stayed in the two bedroom suite, which is large and lots of room and windows. It is really inviting like a home away from home!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Chocolate Lake Hotel. Our stay was highlighted by kind staff, specifically Simran who went above and beyond to make our stay all the more special. Moreover, the added bonus of free breakfast and parking made the hotel stick out among others in the area. The pool is nice and the arcade is novel although a tad pricy. The only difficulties that we faced...
We really loved our stay here! The location is perfect — close to restaurants, downtown, the mall, and cinemas. The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. I also really appreciated the free on-site parking — such a convenience! The breakfast buffet was decent and a great way to start the day. Honestly, this hotel is such great value! 💛 Also, can I just say how much I loved having...
Loved our stay! Great for families and dogs. The pool, arcade room and breakfast buffet was awesome! The room was spacious and clean, great location. 5 minutes from Halifax shopping center and 10 to five guys! Would go back for sure.
Very nice, surprisingly large hotel. The room was of a reasonable size but most importantly: clean. Rooms are also modern. The service from all staff we came into contact with was great. All where professional and friendly. The location of this hotel is hard to beat as it is on the shore of Chocolate Lake. The reserant in the hotel has good food and the included breakfast in the morning is one of the...
Great cozy place. Have been staying for a week and felt like home. Friendly staff, good spread of breakfast in the mornings. Good staff and made me comfortable during my stay. Highly recommend. The restaurant staff were awesome and the food is really good. Should try the Lakeside Burger. I have ordered that at least 4 times during my stay.
Check in and check out was prompt. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel was quiet. Breakfast staff were cheery.

The water park was good, pool was reasonable, some kids jackets would be great addition. The front desk should have informed about the gym and the pool upon check In...
We had our company awards gala here. The service was outstanding. John and the catering team were too notch and made sure everything was so easy and smooth. The food was good. My only complaint was that the bar was cash only (we issued drink tickets so it didn't really affect our group but something to consider. )
A fine room with fair service. It took a sec for the person at the front desk to notice us. She looked bored and she was on her phone. Anyway, she got us settled with check in. Room was clean and didn't have that stuffy scent when we first walked in. The washroom didn't have a fan. All that humidity had no where to go. Our view was a brick wall, but if you're on the other side, you have a view of the...
Wow! What an amazing place to stay. My friend & I just wanted a change of scenery for the night, and this was the perfect spot. The double room was wonderful; extremely comfortable bed. I suffer from sciatic problems, and I was able to sleep very comfortably. The place was spotless. No bad odors or stale smell. There is a pool and fitness room. The TV was a bit tricky, but being able to use...
Your staff is amazing, they were busy but handled all clients with respect and were efficient at their job to make sure everyone was happy. The tall lady with glasses that overseen breakfast was exceptional. I only wish I remembered her name. There was a tiny issue on check in with availability of our room, but that was taken care of by the desk manager.
The room was nice and clean, the pool was great and the restaurant / breakfast was great! I’m giving 3 stars because of the front desk staff woman being super unfriendly - Loni I believe her name was (supervisor of some sort). She was extremely unfriendly at check in and upon check out - but the other staff during the other times we went by the desk were great! I think the supervisor title has gone...

My stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Halifax was an overall pleasant experience marked by commendable service and a couple of minor drawbacks. The hotel’s service undoubtedly stands out. The staff’s friendliness and attentiveness were consistent throughout my stay, ensuring a comfortable and accommodating atmosphere. However, the issue with parking deserves attention. The limited parking...
Great place to stay, modern, exceptionally clean, terrace and zen gardens overlook the harbour, nice place to have morning coffee. Hotel is in downtown, close to everything. The only downside is we didn’t have our own thermostat…well we did, it was just connected to the heating system of the hotel. It was quite warm in our room even though we turned the thermostat to cool. Also, our room window didn...
Everything was just perfect in this hotel. Enjoyed the location. Staff at reception were courteous and accommodating. Room was clean. View was great. They let us do late checkout as they weren’t busy. Bistro served a mean grilled chicken sandwich. All in all, great stay.
Beds on the firm side but comfortable. Views great. Staff lovely, and I can't say enough about their grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup from the bistro. It's anything but basic, and worth it. I wish I could make them that amazing at home. The perfect luxury comfort food to ride out a flight delay and storm.
The location was excellent and the staff were courteous and very nice. It was a beautiful room with so much space, I loved it. It was very clean and love the ability to have room service and Starbucks!
Staff were friendly, view from the room was nice. Very clean. Don't bother with the breakfast at The Bistro, very over priced and literally 3 things to choose from. I would much rather gone somewhere else for breakfast but we had already included it in the price of the room. Wouldn't do that again. Great location for waterfront access, restaurants and bars. If coming from Dartmouth take the ferry...

Wonderful stay and very accommodating hosts. We didn't get in until 230am and they waited up for us and helped us with our bags. They let us have our little dog here and we're so nice about it. We would stay again for sure.
What a lovely little B&B. The hosts are kind and attentive. Everything you would expect is provided. The bed was comfortable, the shower was roomy, and the back porch and garden were welcoming and sweet. Breakfast was fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, and a croissant, with coffee, orange juice, and milk. Pricing was quite reasonable and competitive. Downtown is a bit of a walk (~2.5km) but that...

Excellent! The rooms were clean and in good size. Staff/Managers were very helpful and friendly. They do their best to please you. Breakfast was very nutritious and delicious. There were some free snacks in the rooms. Overall we had a very positive experience!

The service here is good. Prompt and professional. But this hotel is advertised as a 4 star hotel and frankly I think that’s ridiculous. The room and bathroom (although clean) are very dated. This is basically a holiday inn express. Also, there is a distinct (somewhat unpleasant) odor when entering my room. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but advertising this establishment as a 4 star hotel...
My husband and I spent one night at this hotel and will book again when we return to Halifax. Easy exit from 4 lane Rooms clean and comfortable Reception on front desk very welcoming The breakfast was excellent and the one thing we liked was it was served to us instead of buffet style, not people handling utensils and breathing over the food. Very nicely done We would recommend this hotel.
Staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well kept. Great breakfast selection. The hotel is conveniently located next to a Tom Hortons and is a short drive from many other amenities. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic Hotel To be honest, I have been to hotels in many cities, and the front desk reception at many hotels is in a smile mode. However, the front desk reception at this hotel really handles my stay from the bottom of them heart and sincerely, answering my doubts. The smile and gaze are definitely not deceiving. I really like this hotel I arrived at the hotel in the evening, and the front...
Clean and daily room service to freshen towels and bed. Front desk folks are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is the highlight, the waitstaff serve you from the buffet and offer sausage, eggs, bacon, omlettes, fruits, bagels and toast. There is coffee 24 hours and tea in the morning. I've been to many hotels and this one really stood out as far as breakfast and customer service! As some...
The breakfast had many options! The room was clean and spacious. We ended up with a pet friendly room, but it didn't smell like animals thankfully.
The location is right there off the main thoroughfare, that’s very convenient to me. The breakfast buffet was superb! The bed was big and comfortable, and everything worked in the room properly as well the bathroom was great too. Yes this hotel was very neat and clean. The staff were very polite and helpful.

Thanks to Paul for ordering the flowers. To have in the room for my wife's birthday .and thanks to staff very friendly.
Location was great for our hospital visit. Room was small ,but ok. The bathroom didn't have a fan for moisture control. Overall, our stay was fine. Breakfast was good. Pricewise, you get what you pay for.
Pretty, older hotel in Halifax. Very nice rooms and bathroom with a sky shower- I loved it. The staff were welcoming and friendly and recommended A couple of good restaurants nearby which gave a discount as we were staying locally. Free street parking and a nice generous breakfast.
What a super spot for a weekend break in Halifax. Relatively quiet location (the road isn't busy at all) and quaint inside. Rooms are on the small side but had everything we needed, including good air-con and a tub to soak in. Breakfast was exactly as described with good coffee and tasty bagels. Staff are friendly and super-helpful. The location is perfect: a short stroll to shops, cinema, waterfront...
I had to have surgery at 6 am so my husband and I booked this place mainly due to location. It was more than we expected and we were so pleased as it was close to the hospital, had free continental breakfast for husband who stayed there all week. Close walk to restaurants and for the month that we were there, parking was free. Great place.
We had a circumstance where we did not know how long we may be staying. They were very accommodating. The location is excellent; close to hospital, Parkland Gardens, and downtown. We ended up staying almost two weeks. The staff are friendly, and treated us like family. We highly recommend staying here.
