First lets start with the prepration, we arrives before 12 and had to wait till 15:00 till we get the room. Lots of others did check in before us actually.
Our room was very small. Small bed on the entrance with a very deep stairs go to the attic bed which was double bed. But the space was very tiny. Imagine with kids going stairs up and down was not so easy. Bathroom was also tiny withour any ventilation nor windows. If you turn the heating on, upper beds would be too warm and lower bed too cold.
Restaurant was okay, food was good but not too much variaty and a bit expensive. Also you need to have a reservation, but we got lucky.
First night was not good, since one of the rooms had a party till morning and that was a disaster.
Also the equipment and beds are very weird and not so modern.
In general if you are single or a couple without kids, this might make sense, specially the location. But if you are family and looking for relaxing hotel for vacation, maybe this is not a good fit.
I will not recommend this hotel.

ALL staff, including room cleaners, check-in, paddle board rentals, restaurant staff went above and beyond!!! Very family friendly, and the beach access amazing! The surfer/skater vibe made for a completely relaxing stay!

Perfect location for daily beach trip.
But...
Room is too small for two adults.
Bad sound insulation in the room.
Dirty and dusty room and equipments.
********No air conditioning( even for hot days)********
Bathroom is tiny, toilet is often wet after shower, the thin shower curtain doesn't help.
Cost-saving hotel at core, hiding under the facade of eco friendliness.
You don't even get the basic bottles of water in your room.
I would not recommend this "hotel" to anyone. 2 nights stay is more than enough for any normal person. Save your money and don't book this hotel, you'll definitely regret it.

Room not ok if use to a normal standard. Think the people use this hotel just for sleep seems popular for youngsters surfers!

This hotel is fun and quirky. The decor is great and the rooms are light and comfortable. Breakfast was great quality and loads of choice. We will return 😊

We stayed at the Bretterbude on 13 Sep. First and foremost, Hotel Bretterbude is ideally located directly on the beach. The beach-facing rooms have an amazing view! Even the rooms at the back of the hotel have a reasonable view. Yes, the rooms are small yet very functional and funky. If you are used to staying at Sheraton, Hilton etc. this might not be your choice. The Bretterbude has got a young vibrant vibe to it, it is very telling with a skateboard ramp in reception, how awesome. The reception was warm and welcoming, thank you very much, Alex! You made us feel at home. Due to travel requirements, we could only stay for one night. Next time we might have to stay longer.

Quirky hotel in a nice location, friendly staff. Got a larger corner room with plenty of space. Comfortable bed and clean, functional bathroom. Good breakfast buffet including lactose-free drinks and food.

Nice place to stay in Heiligenhafen! Cool design concept allover the hotel. Checkin was done and good with a friendly touch and a warm welcome! The Loft room was great of style and comfort! View was stunning to the sea! Breakfast room was a good experience! All you need for a good start and most important a really nice coffea! A big thank you to Valentin and Karl who did both a good job!
And well done to Felix who was very supportive with ideas and always a friendly talk! Next time I will try SUP! :)

The concept of cleaning the rooms just if you ask for is a very good idea!
Just the cleanness of the room needs to get better! Lot of dust in bed area and spiderwebs all oder the room! This is not there for a day … looks like for couple of weeks! This needs to be improved!
