The reception was very good, I was able to order in advance the dish i wanted to have for dinner and the time for dinner, and I was able to have the dish divided in two for me and my girlfriend (which is not well seen in other hotels, I must say). The hotel is in a very idyllic location right next to the forest. Pure tranquility. The staff is super friendly, the rooms very clean. Unfortunately, the restaurant looks very cool and therefore not very cozy. Our breakfast was varied, only we didn't like the rolls, but this is a matter of taste.

We were from 24.09. until October 1st 2021 there. It was a wonderful time in this hotel, service, food, cleanliness and friendliness, everything was perfect. The location for hiking is great. We will definitely spend our vacation there again. 👍

Got a nice and spacious suite with double bed + extra bed. Very quiet location at the hotel, which is a little out of the way from the village. The breakfast had a fairly good selection and in the evening there was the possibility to buy a buffet at a reasonable price.

after a brief journey we found a nice 4 star hotel in a quiet location on the mountain with a beautiful view of the Vorharz landscape. After a very nice greeting, we moved into our very comfortable room. In the evening we enjoyed a three course meal. The kitchen is highly recommended. Just cheeky.... Thanks again to the kitchen. Everything alright except for the horrible breakfast. Most of the things in the buffet where empty at 09:30, they gave me a dirty table with leftovers from the guys who sat there before and I had to drink the little and cold coffee they left, as the staff did not bring another coffee jug.

Great location, good start but more of a B&B than a hotel.

Ober-Hammer-Nostalgic. Here we come again. The rooms are clinically clean and lovingly furnished with the smallest details on the subject, you feel like family here. As soon as you enter the villa, you are greeted with a touch of history. A very beautiful usable garden and direct access to the hiking trails make the stay a legendary experience. Cosy hotel for families with young children! Free cultural events in high season at the Kleinkunstbühne with pub. Highly recommended as the whole landscape is cultural somehow "dead". Empty streets in the evening in WR, GS, Bad Harzburg, Halberstadt etc.

Like many places in the area, it seems understaffed. But the staff is friendly and accommodating....2 years later...We stayed a week in the village. It's over priced and under staffed! Nice spot of nature if you’re nature lover and would like to run away from stress. The staffs gave me the feeling that they love their job and love to serve you. We were for the umpteenth time in our favorite pension. Very big and clean room. The breakfast is varied and absolutely sufficient. A great pension with nice big rooms. The location is very quiet, but you can still walk very quickly to the great city center and Café Wien. This is also highly recommended. Hello, we were in Wernigerode for the first time to visit the annual Oktoberfest with friends. The pension is in a very quiet location, but still centrally located so that you can reach the very beautiful city center in a short time on foot. Everything is very clean and the landlords were very nice. We would book the pension again at any time.

Well we have to say it was one of the nicest vacation rentals we've ever had. The apartment itself is very well maintained and very well furnished with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The owner very courteous and very helpful would also get things if you noticed what should be missing in the apartment. The location of the apartment is excellent, you can easily walk to everything. My wife and I recently dined in the restaurant as external guests. The food was very good. Fresh ingredients, deliciously prepared and attractively presented. The ambience was also nice, clean and pleasant. The service was very attentive and courteous. We would eat here again.

My partner and I were from 08/24. for 2 nights in the Hotel Am Eichenberg and have nothing to complain about. We were welcomed and served in a very friendly manner. Great food and an excellent breakfast buffet awaited us there. You can go hiking directly from the hotel. So everything is fine. :-)

A restaurant review: Classic German food. A bit uninspired and just medium quality. The service was very good. The restaurant has a good view on the historic steam train. The train theme is picked it in the restaurant where a model train delivers the drinks.

Great place to stay. Rooms always clean. Plenty of room. Staff great. Brilliant breakfast.

The dining experience is excellent. The little train that brings drinks and dessert is such a quirky feature you'll not be able to take you're eyes off it.

If you're a railfan this is THE place to stay when you visit the HSB. The engine terminal is right across the street. The place is decorated with train pictures and memorabilia. The food in the restaurant is EXCELLENT! Very yummy and the dishes have railroady names. And the staff are very friendly and helpful!

Stayed for 5 nights on a Great Rail Journey's holiday. A modern hotel that can cope with lots of large groups. Very comfortable rooms, good facilities. Self service restaurant food can be a bit hit and miss but generally good choice and value. Helpful staff and located within easy reach of the local attractions.

This is a good hotel . The only issue is the check in ( not before 16h) and the check out ( before 10h )

In Overall it was good. However, you need to be early to get all options during breakfast and the presentation was not the best.

It's a nice guesthouse that's fairly centrally located. From here you can go almost anywhere with public transport and even free of charge as part of the visitor's tax.

Nice family pension. Good location for excursions in Wernigerode and the surrounding area. Nice, courteous staff. The room was clean and functional. There are also two bicycle boxes which are unfortunately a bit too small for modern mountain bikes.

We had a super nice week in the Schweizer Hof.... The hotel is class....starting with the friendly welcome... All employees are very nice and also very attentive. The rooms were super clean. Good management .. everyday fresh fruits waiting for you in room . Clean . But don't change towel daily , you need to reuse the towel as much you can . it's just to stop overuse of detergents to protect the environments.

Very nice welcome. And not just in German but in English so non German speakers would find it easy as well. Rooms are cozy. Bathrooms need shower curtains and may be a provision of a fan (but again this summer could be an exception), these two things can be considered for little improvement. Breakfast is good but still think a vegetarian or vegan people have less options as everywhere else.

A small but very cozy hotel. The room was clean and big enough for two people. The location in the city center is also an advantage. However, there is no parking lot near the hotel, the car can be parked in public parking lots (about 300m away) for a parking fee. Well, it's difficult with the luggage. I still give 5 stars.

Simple hotel right in the center with a few lovely touches such as flowers and fruit in the room. You can make tea and coffee in the hallway. There is no breakfast in the house itself. You can have a good breakfast at the bakery next door. The location means that even the hotel smells of baked goods.

A pleasant stay in a pleasant hotel. A nice time in general. I would likely pick this hotel again if I stayed in Wernigerode. I was worried about being disturbed at night but was not. Out of the local restaurants, a Greek one was best. The Brocken train ride is the headline attraction. It is very pricey, but worth it. Recommend a good walk from Schierke to where the Berlin Wall was.

This was our second time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The owner took time for us and made a recommendation for specially offered dishes. We take advantage of this offer and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious again. So always with pleasure.

FRIENDLINESS is very important here. I came with my 80 year old mother. She needs oxygen. Delivering the oxygen was not a problem. The room was great. Breakfast delicious. We ate there on 2 evenings. Delicious. Boss and boss were very caring towards my mother. Thank you for everything! All in all very recommendable. Tiny drop of bitterness ..... the parking fee charged for the use of the hotel's own...

The hotel is situated on the northeast end of Breite Straße, the main street of Wernigerode and it is not far from the main train station. The room is comfortable but the room window is facing the hotel inner courtyard which is also used as the outdoor dining area for the hotel restaurant so it can be a little bit noisy in the early evening but it is all quiet at night. The hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The parking lot is a little far away, but it is safe because it is surrounded by a gate. Loading and unloading of luggage can be done on the street parking, so there is no problem. We also ate dinner at the restaurant. The schnitzel was wonderful and delicious.
