Where to stay in Markdorf

Whilst the facilities here are undoubtedly of very high quality , a standard camping pitch in July is a cramped affair. The rows of campers with very little space to call their own stand in stark contrast to the pictures of luxury facilities.

Trained there, very nice holiday, with camping, farm shop, sauna etc... good suggestions from Dr Hauschka....

We were very comfortable. Recommended in any case. Excellent food, beautiful room with water bed. The whole area is in very good condition, the staff is pleasant, friendly and competent. Always welcome.

Recommended From the (stated) renovation measures there were hardly any restrictions (still), at least no noise etc. . Due to the corona pandemic there is currently no breakfast buffet, but there are 4 options to choose from the night before. The rooms were clean and functional. The staff is very friendly. The campsite infrastructure, such as the swimming pool, can also be used.

We were cycling around Lake Constance.and had booked to stay here. This is a lovely hotel with a beer garden where we were able to have our evening meal. Lovely rooms and staff. Great value for money.

On one of the hottest July days we showed up shortly after 5 p.m. and were rewarded with an empty parking lot and cool biergarten shaded by six old chestnut trees. We orderd quickly, and the food and drink came promptly, accompanied by friendly attentive staff. An hour and a half later, the place was full (we counted at least 48 guests), and more were coming. Very interesting arrangements. The hotel is in a good, quiet location. The rooms are modern and practical. Our dog is also welcome. Good food selection. It's great that the hotel offers treatments with an osteopath. I was very happy about that last year. We also used the guest card often.

This Hotel is about 2 miles outside the town and close to the Bodensee. There is parking in front of the hotel and the hotel is currently undergoing a major extension which will provide underground parking. The hotel and the wellness area are nothing special. In fact, from the photos on the booking the expectation was that the room was in the modern part of the hotel, but unfortunately this was not the case. Room was extremely dated. Glad there was air conditioning. Walls were very thin, could hear the TV from another room at 5am. You had to book the steam room in advance. The variety of activities was very good but needs some modernization to be competitive. For example. Really good value, located a bit on the outskirts of town but perfect place to stop before heading to Ravensburger Land (20 mins away). Great restaurant! Some portion size considerations (my starter was like a meal) can be smaller to not waste food. Super fresh, high quality, nice atmosphere, great service. We didn’t speak a word of German and our server didn’t speak English, but we felt super taken care of, and attentive to every detail.

I'm sitting on our balcony and I see a fantastically beautiful garden with a great pool, surrounded by vines and a fantastic view of the lake and the Alps. Conditions at hotel are ok but check in process is a nightmare. No front desk. We have to use entry panel. We have follwed to the instruction but can't walk inside. Very misleading A very missleading stay from what is advertised. There is a spa although you have to pay €19.50pp to use it. The “hot tub” in the spa is just a 1 person jacuzzi bath which you must also buy on top of the spa costs. At night all the heating was turned off so it was very cold. Room was clean and quiet though. all the machines for coffee etc only take coins so make sure you bring plenty...

Lodged here for a short time as it was fair priced and not too far away from the places I had in mind. Check in is really 24 hours ( key box ). Interior ( carpets for instance ) could be better but considering the price it was okay. On-site parking is additional 5 EUR and off-site parking spaces are rare.
