The hotel is clean and beautiful with a great service and an amazing breakfast. Usually, there is no vegan breakfast at the hotels, but at this one you will find it! Wide choice of tasty vegan food. 😍

Rooms are small but very clean. No restaurant but there are plenty around

This place was a beautiful hotel with a great restaurant and super friendly staff. Room was big and beautiful and when i asked to be moved to the first floor for easy access for me and my bike they happily obliged. All around lovely place would highly recommend.

Nice clean rooms, closet with a lot of space. Great breakfast, friendly staff. And on the Easter Day 2 bunnies we’re waiting for us in front of our room. Nice touch! We’ll definitely come agin!

Very good hotel, with excellent conditions, kind personell with who it is possible to talk in English. Restaurant in the hotel serve good meals and always help to order supper, after late arrival.

The Hotel is located right along the canal and it is easy to walk from the Hotel through the small town and discover the area. Getting there by car is a bit challenging but manageable and the nice thing you will have to drive underneath the old crane. The young staff team was very friendly and helpful and did their best to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The Restaurant offers a good selection...

The best in the hotel is the front desk and restaurant staff! They mad my business stay amazing! Location is great, quiet and neat. Food is awesome! My company paid for the stay, so i dont have much to say about that, but overall the pricing of the hotel should be mid ranged. Not a fancy 5 star hotel, but perfect if you are traveling through or a tourist for a few days. Truly can recommend to anyone...

Made my booking directly on the hotel's website whilst still in England and was able to make a reservation for the Meyer Werft tour at the same time. I was aiming to arrive mid-evening on the Sunday after travelling from London via Eurostar and onward by train. Unfortunately, on arrival in Brussels, I found my connecting train to Köln had been cancelled, which had the cumulative effect of my not arriving...

Nice hotel. Clean and spacy room. Breakfast could be better but probably it's due to the covid times. I could choose it next time once in Papenburg.

Nice hotel located near all the shopping. Nice breakfast and very friendly staff. The only downside is when your room is just on the top of the car washing station it can be very noisy early in the morning or late at night

Staying at this hotel was ok. Very nice and helpful staff. The hotel is located very close to the beautiful canal planted with beautiful flowers.

I was at Hotel Restaurant Engeln for three nights. The staff is well manered and always eager to help. The main shopping area is a bit far for walking to the centrum but not totally outcounted. The room did not include a fridge but otherwise the room was comfortable. Oh, I do recommend bringing your own shower soap and shampoo.. The only downside was poor wifi quality. I couldn't work at my room...

I travel for work and have stayed in many hotels. This hotel is clean, pleasant, and welcoming. My room was very nice and the restaurant is absolutely wonderful. I ate in the hotel restaurant all week because - with food so good - there was no reason to go elsewhere. The staff is kind and attentive. I am looking forward to my next visit to Papenburg.

First of all I would like to mention very tasty breakfasts with a variety of dishes and snacks… During the ten days of my staying in the hotel I was never disappointed with quality of products. Thank You a lot for such delicious food☺️ 🤤 Rooms are clean and quite comfortable. There is also enough space for storage luggage and all things 🤗

The hotel is in a very quiet location. Our room was large and bright. The bed was super comfortable. There was a hot water kettle, so that you could quickly prepare a coffee or tea in the morning or evening. The bathroom was very nice, good working shower. Been there for business. The room were clean and breakfast was OK.

This is a great little hotel, in quite a good location. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the food was very good and the rate was very reasonable. The staff were all very welcoming, and were only too happy to help! If and when I am back in Papenburg, I would happily stay here again!

Lovely large rooms, Best Breakfast

Very central, big car park at the back, close to shops, cafes, restaurant, canals. Staff exceptional, premises all clean, interior design maritim rustical. No steps to climb, elevator to rooms, some with balcony, very comfortable, top breakfast.

Beautiful venue, interesting location near Meyer Werft with view on the AIDAcosmo. Very friendly staff. Nice to have the option of bacon and eggs for breakfast instead of just the omnipresent bread rolls and cold meats/cheese spread.

Good stop celebrated. Mr. Gahren and his team gave us an unforgettable celebration. From the first contact we experienced an absolutely professional and friendly boss. The course of the celebration was perfectly planned and carried out. The food was absolutely top class. We and our guests were absolutely delighted with the service and the location and can unreservedly recommend Gut Halte for any celebration...

Very nice ambience in the house and also outside in the garden. Very nice and lovely staff, the food tasted impeccable, was enthusiastic, many thanks for that. Absolute wedding experts! We had a wonderful party. Also recommended for a visit to the restaurant and also the accommodation! We have been to the restaurant several times and we have never been disappointed!

Celebrated our son's wedding in their house on October 22nd, 2021. Were well looked after from the beginning until the early morning. Great atmosphere, very tasty food and attentive service. Keep it up 👍

So getting there with a navigation system is really difficult, but the country house can't do anything about that. It's very quiet which is a plus for me. The staff was very friendly with the boss I had nothing to do. The furnishing of the rooms is really outdated, in a double room the blinds were broken. But the rooms and the common areas are clean. So the team was great. At breakfast you should consider taking fresh rolls from the bakery or other rolls to bake up. Eating in the evening was great. The solution was very good. Rooms are slowly in need of renovation. Especially the shower head, much more the pressure of the water. We felt we were in good hands for a week. Oh, I immediately got my vinegar for the bed, I was the target of the mosquitoes...
