We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ascot Bristol (2 nights). The rooms were spacious, clean, and the breakfast was really good. You have everything you need for a few days to visit Postdam. We had parking in front of the hotel for free (limited space) but there is also an option to park underground for a fee.

Well, the hotel is old-fashioned, but the price is relatively fair; the breakfast is fine. Looks like only elderly people stay here

We return every time we are in Potsdam, Good location,great hotel with nice restaurant.

Simple hotel with few major issues, fair price
What's good:

- great Balcony.
- There is excellent lighting in the room and bathroom.
- Many electrical sockets 🔌🔌🔌
- Great bath - plenty of hot water, good water flow 🛁🚿
- Elevator 🛗

- No air conditioning in the room which is a problem in the summer This forced us to sleep with the window and curtain open and in the morning a strong light came in that illuminated us at a very early hour . 🥵
- They charge money for the water they put on the the water they put in the room is something I haven't seen even in the cheapest hotels
- Very uncomfortable bed with very very small pillows. In the morning our whole body ached from the bed.

Old, a bit runned-down hotel without aircon rooms. A bit shady neighbourhood. Parking 9Eur / night a bit much. Definitely NOT 4 stars like they claim

Very large rooms, relatively quiet but not premium location, handicap friendly. Little bit too expensive for what it has to offer.

The reservation went quickly and without problems. We are after 18 o'clock, a quick phone call arrived but has enough that our reservation will remain. The reception was really very very nice and our stay was very pleasant. Unfortunately, there was no chocolate/gummi bears on the bed :D there were, however, a bathtub in the room, very nice! .

I have been residing in that place as 'veteran' guest in the last some twenty months with great satisfaction with one central reservation: service attitude of certain staff members greatly leaves to be desired. That escaled into a conflicht around early summer 2016, when one staff member declined storage of a bulky luggage peace just for TWO DAYS. Manager on duty Christian Holtz -Teichmann choose not to intervene to fix this issue. It was very embarassing being humiliated by a manager, who should honour having a guest as 'veteran'.
When I recently requested for reservation of my favorate room nr. 407, the latter declined, claiming I would have left the room in untidy condition. Of course, no apology for the recent mishap! Rather a transparent act of retaliation against somebody who had been challenging the managers (in)competence.
The bottom line is: guests are well adviced not to expect courtesy and flexibility from that staff member. The trouble with the industry of East German accomodation in general is: responsibles still tend to act in the spirit of former DDR - humiliation in lieu of cooperation and customer service.
