Hotel Goldener Engel

Great little hotel in the heart of Speyer. Centrally located within walking distance of the Cathedral. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in Speyer to visit family

Stayed in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Remarkable always, everything.

Stayed in hotel during business trip.
Room and key was ready when arraving. Welcoming was a warm.
Room was clean and big enough to spend few days. It was heatwave during that week. The room was pretty warm but a small tablefan mixed the air a bit.
Breakfast was served from 7am, and it was standard breakkie with bread, musli, yoghurt etc.
Parking might be problematic. I was able to park right next to hotel, but there is a parking area closeby which work also with easypark.
Location is right in the centre of town, walking street with restaurants, shops and places to have beer being just around tge corner.
I could stay in this hotel again if in the area.

This hotel is like being at home . Rooms are spacious , clean and bright . Bathrooms are modern and very clean . Reception is always positive and very helpful . Within 100meters of Maximillian Straße , the walking street of Speyer . Close to multiple very good restaurants and dozens of shops . The Dom is a short hike down the other end of the walking street . Breakfast is very good with eggs cooked to order and multiple other food choices .

Truly one of the nicest hotels along the Rhein River , Great rooms with very comfortable bed and large very clean bathrooms . Toiletries provided . Our room had AC if needed . Elevator also available . Very close to the “walking street” and the Dom . Reception is very friendly and extremely helpful . On BBC site restaurant serves excellent food choices . Breakfast is excellent with numerous hot and cold food choices. Definitely will return .

Gemütliches Hotel zentral gelegen mit einem guten Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Dieses Hotel kann man nur empfehlen!!! Sehr sauber , neues Bad , gemütliches Zimmer. Leider aufgrund von Personalmangel keine Bar kein Restaurant. Eine Flasche Bier oder ein Glas Wein gibt es trotzdem. Einfach gastfreundlich! Wir sagen Danke!

Das Hotel ist sehr gut gelegen, nur einen Steinwurf vom alten Pörtel entfernt. Die Zimmer sind nicht riesig, aber sehr gefällig und proper. Wir fanden die Betten prima und unser Zimmer war auch ruhig gelegen. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und wir konnten nur bedauern, dass das Hotel ansonsten keine Gastronomie mehr anbieten kann, zumindest vorderhand. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und können den Goldenen Engel nur empfehlen.

….jedoch die Zimmer, mit unterschiedlichen Renovierungsstand, was wir aber im Vorfeld nicht wussten. Wir waren für 2 Nächte im Hotel. Das erste Zimmer würde ich ( vorsichtig formuliert) als nicht mehr zeitgemäß beurteilen. Ein karg weiß gefliestes Bad ohne Dusche, dafür mit einer Badewanne OHNE (!) DUSCHVORHANG. Sowas habe ich in dieser Hotelkategorie nicht erwartet. Für die zweite Nacht konnten wir in ein renoviertes Zimmer umziehen, welches sehr schön war. Das Hotel insgesamt ist sehr liebevoll und individuell eingerichtet & hat Charme, das Frühstück ist gut und mit ausreichend Auswahl. Pluspunkt: den Kaffee konnten wir uns mit einer „French Press“ selber zubereiten. Alle Mitarbeiter:innen im Hotel sind sehr freundlich.

Very good hotel. The location is very central and it's only a short walk to the Speyer Dom. The room was very spacious and well equipped. The service was super nice and the Breakfast was tasty, could have some vegan options though. All in all it's a good hotel for a good price!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Room got everything you need. Very clean and tastefully appointed. WLAN works. Parking is right next door - EUR 4.50 per night - you pay parking when checking out. Location: couple minutes walk to the attractions yet very quiet at night as the small street is not busy at all. Breakfast: perfectly ok for the charge you pay. Very clean and well maintained hotel. Would go back anytime.
