Very friendly dutch couple hosting this hotel. Beautiful located and as a political/social scientist I was especially fascinated by the fact that this is just a few hundred meters from the old BRD/DDR-border. Here you can combine nature with fascinating historical sights. Very recommendable

We had a very nice short break in the hotel, the hotel and the garden are in a very well-kept condition I can only recommend it. The rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfast is superb. In winter you can find great slopes with ski lifts nearby. Summer leaves nothing to be desired for hikers and explorers. Have fun visiting, it's worth it!

Just another "small village hotel" - a little bit abandoned and sometimes dirty, it still usable to get some rest and sleep. Stuff was friendly and speaks English. Breakfast was okay. Location is really good if you arrive by car, and they have free parking. Some people expects more for that money and come with 1-star reviews, but I did not have any expectations, so for me it was just OK.

Good German food, great view and very friendly service. The interior could be a bit more modern, but the place was decorated with passion. You won't regret dining here. Especially the location directly next to a skiing hill is a good reason to choose this place.

Stayed four nights, very friendly owners, delicious and varied breakfast, especially considering the size of the hotel. Calm and cozy atmosphere, far enough from the main road to enjoy a silent evening on the terrace. Would definitely chose Hotel Wappenhof again if we go back to Braunlage.

Nice hotel in a central location. The rooms are nicely furnished, the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. If you order in advance, you can eat delicious food here, but only for house guests. It takes about 7 minutes to go to the center of Braunlage. We'd love to come back.

Stay from December 30th, 2021 to January 2nd, 2022 I stayed in a single room (room 19). Everything was clean and tidy. Mrs. Hecker was friendly and so was the staff. The breakfast is good and tasty and it was always refilled. Price and performance were really good! I will gladly come again! 😊 1 point deduction because of the mattress, which needs to be replaced.
