Just popped in for a quick bowl of soup and cup of tea.

They offer excellent breakfast buffet. I especially love the fact that they offer smoked fish. Lecker!

Great mountain/forest location, nice breakfast. Buffet offers good old-fashion German (steam table) buffet or Á la carte. Clean well-equipped apartment with new bath, flat screen TV & patio/balcony. Slight drawbacks- 1990's decor, uncomfortable mattress, dirty hallway carpets, slow WiFi only in restaurant or reception.

Apartment fine, breakfast a+, but no WiFi in rooms, which to me is a dealbreaker. They claim free WiFi in restaurant and reception but it is very slow and who wants to watch tv in the reception?

Just another "small village hotel" - a little bit abandoned and sometimes dirty, it still usable to get some rest and sleep. Stuff was friendly and speaks English. Breakfast was okay. Location is really good if you arrive by car, and they have free parking. Some people expects more for that money and come with 1-star reviews, but I did not have any expectations, so for me it was just OK.

Nice, clean, large room and bathroom. The guesthouse is in a perfect location in Schierke. The staff was very easy-going about our late arrival, the key exchange was easy. They were also accommodating with our dietary request for breakfast.

I stayed for 2 nights mid-December, off-season with just one other guest. Since an employee was being reintegrated, breakfast was made exclusively for my wife and me. The communication with the owner was via WhatsApp Unusual, but super uncomplicated and friendly! Gladly again Here price/performance get 5 points!

I only spent one night there. Room including bathroom clean and attractive. Very friendly and helpful boss. Also the breakfast in the supermarket opposite (this is an exception!) was very decent. Very good value for money.

Everything went well with the machine that gave out the room key. Unfortunately we were cold and the heating didn't work. The decor is good, nothing is missing, but not the most modern interior. Unfortunately, it was very annoying that our room door rattled loudly when someone opened the front door. Which woke me up twice. The breakfast was good and the service very nice.

We stayed one night for our weekend trip in Harz. Great location, clean rooms and affordable price. Just across the tourist information in Schierke. Highly recommend it.

Good hotel, great breakfast buffet, friendly staff! Rooms could be slightly larger. Parking space is ample , a supermarket is closed-by! I've to say I though Schierke is technically a part of Wernigerode, it is a 20-30 min drive away from Wernigerode-proper, where the main focus of my stay is. If you don't mind driving to Wernigerode, this is a perfect hotel, and you can start hiking tours directly...

Room was a little dated but very comfortable, as was the bed, breakfast was very enjoyable with a good selection, Hotel was clean and tidy no complaints there.

Breakfast was great. Large selection of food. Rooms were good size and bed comfortable. Pillows were like pancakes, had to use pillows from sofa. Make sure you bring your own wash clothes. If not, you shower with soap and your hand. Check Restaurant in the area for availability. Most of them require reservations. We were turned away at several because we did not have reservations

Board: Basic but perfectly adequate, clean...satisfactory. Restaurant: cozy with small details that live up to the name. Delicious food, friendly staff, very busy, clean... I have never met such nice and courteous pension employees. There was a birthday surprise (without anyone mentioning the birthday) and the sick friend was spoiled in the room! Nice pension and the rooms offer everything you need. Breakfast was great and requests were catered for. The location is great for hiking directly on the Brocken. The service is great. We were also able to borrow a backpack for the hike. Gladly again at any time

A really beautifully situated hotel in the middle of the Harz. Ideal for hiking and winter sports. Lots of trails around the hotel. Excellent rooms with good beds and bathroom. Stayed four nights, very friendly owners, delicious and varied breakfast, especially considering the size of the hotel. Calm and cozy atmosphere, far enough from the main road to enjoy a silent evening on the terrace. Would definitely chose Hotel Wappenhof again if we go back to Braunlage.

The owners are very friendly and if you can't speak German they will make an effort to talk to you in English. The room was very clean and cozy, with a very large and comfortable bed! Breakfast is well served and varied.

The property has a nice location near a very pretty park. The room was perfect for me as a solo traveler and it was very clean. The host was incredibly kind and the included breakfast was perfect. The host will even make eggs for you on request! Very happy with my choice to stay here.

Nice hotel in a central location. The rooms are nicely furnished, the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. If you order in advance, you can eat delicious food here, but only for house guests. It takes about 7 minutes to go to the center of Braunlage. We'd love to come back.

Stay from December 30th, 2021 to January 2nd, 2022 I stayed in a single room (room 19). Everything was clean and tidy. Mrs. Hecker was friendly and so was the staff. The breakfast is good and tasty and it was always refilled. Price and performance were really good! I will gladly come again! 😊 1 point deduction because of the mattress, which needs to be replaced.

On arrival we were given a tour of the entire house and were pleasantly surprised at what was hidden in the apartments, sauna, 2 televisions, kitchen, everything the wallet needed. A small and cosy hotel. Not so modern in its appearance - Reminds me of my grandparents home. But it was clean, silent, and the bed was good - The same was the breakfast. The host is friendly, but can only talk and understand german. They only accept payment in cash - Card isn't possible.

Friendly and courteous staff, who accommodated us very obligingly. The location in Braunlage is also very good, the rooms are large and clean. Shower in the tub is not that nice.
