We are extremely happy to have stayed here. We had an amazing stay from the moment we got here, the hostess is super friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was great with so many options. Short walk from the old town and you can also walk to the castle. We were also very excited to hear about the hotels history! Thank you for our amazing stay!

I really liked the hotel and the location. Just one point which I didnt like was the breakfast spread. It was fancy undoubtedly but the quantity and the variety was not sufficient especially for the tourists from different nationalities. I understand its a very small town and not many things are available but atleast the basic breakfast should have been better. Rest was all good.

The cutest and prettiest hotel in Wernigrode, it's like a little castle! Parking was ample and free, the rooms were extremely spacious and very comfortable. Staff were lovely and helpful (they give you a little discount booklet for local attractions and dining), buffet breakfast was great and they had umbrellas to borrow (which came in handy for us). Only a short but steep walk to the actual castle...

Great stay. Excellent breakfast. Reasonable price. Some rooms are much better looking than others so be aware. Luckily we had a good view with our room with plenty of natural lighting.

A small but very cozy hotel. The room was clean and big enough for two people. The location in the city center is also an advantage. However, there is no parking lot near the hotel, the car can be parked in public parking lots (about 300m away) for a parking fee. Well, it's difficult with the luggage. I still give 5 stars.

Simple hotel right in the center with a few lovely touches such as flowers and fruit in the room. You can make tea and coffee in the hallway. There is no breakfast in the house itself. You can have a good breakfast at the bakery next door. The location means that even the hotel smells of baked goods.

Super nice hotel in the center. Very warm and friendly welcome. Beautiful, large, tidy and well equipped rooms. Very comfortable beds with different pillows. Very extensive breakfast buffet with all kinds of specialties (deer salami, wild boar sausage,...) in the sister hotel. I would book again at any time.

The location was perfect and well within walking distance of the town. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the castle from my window. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and filled you up for the day

This hotel was clean and quiet and also provided good breakfast. We mostly appreciated them taking extra time to fulfill our dietary requirements.

Good breakfast, and fine bedroom and bath. The streets on three sides of the building are however quite noisy.

Great location. Easy walking distance to Town center. Breakfast not included..9€ but well worth every penny. Hosts very helpful.. Do not speak English though if you do not speak German. Very clean. Have a free Sauna if you are interested... Beds comfy. Pets allowed, if you wish. Worth the stay!

Parking is in front of the hotel, on street. Modern facility. Linen and towel are for extra charge. A room for 2 persons cost 60€ (with linen and towels). Check out is already 10:00.

Good stay. We've been in the room with four people (beds for up to six) and had one bathroom. Everything was clean, staff was friendly and even checked me in after the official hours. Breakfast could not be served due to Corona. To improve: WiFi quality and kitchen (fridge was not turned on).

Usable as an emergency stay, but nothing I would recommend if you have another option. Although breakfast was good and the rooms were clean there is a very little space and too many people for one bathroom in the morning.

Cheap and clean. All facilities are very standard. A single toilet for one room for 15 people bit more inconvenient. walk-able to railway station.

Normally equipped sports hotel beside sportsarena. 10 minutes by car to the city centre.

Nice place to stay as a starting point for various hiking trips to the Harz mountains. Decently furnished rooms that have names like "Orient", "Paris" and "Himalaya".

It's a hotel and restaurant right next to the namegiving Schanzen. The location provides indoor and outdoor tables. I didn't visit the rooms but they will be fantastic if they look as good as the restaurant. The brunch buffet was just as delicious as a normal A la carte plate while you can choose to eat whatever and how much you want. The staff was always nice and competent.

New renovated rooms, silent location in the nature, good breakfast, the hotel has 4 floors and a wellness area overall good hotel

Friendly reception even though we turned up without a reservation and the staff were busy with a wedding at the time. We had a choice of campsite and plenty of space (end August) and were able to wash and dry our laundry (€8 a bit much when compared with other campsites). The washrooms were a bit limited, with cooking, washing up, laundry, and chemical loo emptying all in the area of the women's toilets

Nice camping place next to the Hotel with access to all facilities and restaurant. Good place to start a visit to Wernigerode and its surroundings

Important info ... the entrance is in the backyard. Nice reception, the rooms also quickly assigned. Parking was free. So far so good. The rooms were clean and functional. The breakfast was also satisfactory. And the service outside, in the beer garden, is okay. The breakfast service is very good. Therefor 3 stars. The room service only cleaned the room on request. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room faced the backyard so it was very quiet. I absolutely enjoyed staying here.

It is a magical place, a very beautiful place for nature lovers, located in the middle of the forest. I would like to stay and live there. Nothing is better than the waldhotel😍😍😍😍😍

Room cosy and clean but missing bed table and lamp. Good location in the middle of the forest. Breakfast: good variety and fresh. Special mention to Mohamed from reception who was very helpful with our unique request, 5 stars for him. Unfortunately didnt have the chance to visit the Spa facilities.

Got a nice and spacious suite with double bed + extra bed. Very quiet location at the hotel, which is a little out of the way from the village. The breakfast had a fairly good selection and in the evening there was the possibility to buy a buffet at a reasonable price.

Everything was great. The location is beautiful, right in the forest. The food was good too.

I was prepared for the hotel to be very German, but the experience this time was beyond imagination. The external environment is good, in a forest. There are no signs on the road or outside room doors. You have to go up the hill from the hall and enter another house to see the room signs. In our family room, the heater in the large room outside didn't work. Fortunately, the heater in the small room...

after a brief journey we found a nice 4 star hotel in a quiet location on the mountain with a beautiful view of the Vorharz landscape. After a very nice greeting, we moved into our very comfortable room. In the evening we enjoyed a three course meal. The kitchen is highly recommended. Just cheeky.... Thanks again to the kitchen. Ps therefore had to enjoy the three-course menu again on the second evening...

Everything alright except for the horrible breakfast. Most of the things in the buffet where empty at 09:30, they gave me a dirty table with leftovers from the guys who sat there before and I had to drink the little and cold coffee they left, as the staff did not bring another coffee jug.

Good hotel, great breakfast buffet, friendly staff! Rooms could be slightly larger. Parking space is ample , a supermarket is closed-by! I've to say I though Schierke is technically a part of Wernigerode, it is a 20-30 min drive away from Wernigerode-proper, where the main focus of my stay is. If you don't mind driving to Wernigerode, this is a perfect hotel, and you can start hiking tours directly...

Room was a little dated but very comfortable, as was the bed, breakfast was very enjoyable with a good selection, Hotel was clean and tidy no complaints there.

Breakfast was great. Large selection of food. Rooms were good size and bed comfortable. Pillows were like pancakes, had to use pillows from sofa. Make sure you bring your own wash clothes. If not, you shower with soap and your hand. Check Restaurant in the area for availability. Most of them require reservations. We were turned away at several because we did not have reservations

In Overall it was good. However, you need to be early to get all options during breakfast and the presentation was not the best.

Basically a solid 4* hotel. But nothing special. Large building and plenty of rooms. There were events on Friday and Saturday nights with loud music. You could hear it on the third floor until about 1 a.m. Breakfast was okay, but only standard.

Room was nice and clean. Most of the staff were great except one of the reception staff was a little rude when I went to check in; the gentleman that did check me in was great. Parking was easy and right next to the hotel and they had a HUGE breakfast selection!

Cosy hotel for families with young children! Free cultural events in high season at the Kleinkunstbühne with pub. Highly recommended as the whole landscape is cultural somehow "dead". Empty streets in the evening in WR, GS, Bad Harzburg, Halberstadt etc.

Nice spot of nature if you’re nature lover and would like to run away from stress. The staffs gave me the feeling that they love their job and love to serve you. We have the Honeymoon room and I love it! It‘s worth for that money. 4 stars instead of 5 are just to give them a hint, next times at Christmas Buffet, just notice guests if they book the Christmas package that it wouldn’t be Christmas food...

Great place to stay in wernigerode. Rooms are more than awesome, staffs are very supportive and sweet. I just loved it.

If you're looking for a budget-friendly vacation, this is definitely a recommendation. There's a parking garage nearby, €8.50 per day. Otherwise, only residents' parking spaces and paid parking areas are available. Unless you park at the train station, of course.

100% yes. Cozy hotel in the center. The food is delicious. Breakfast is excellent. Fresh rolls and bread. Cheese, sausages, various jams, boiled eggs. Yogurt, juice, and much more. Dinner is available from two menus. Very friendly staff. In March there were four people, and now (until September 2, 2025) there are six. We'll be back. Thank you very much.

The location was very good for our planned trip because we wanted to go into the city and also take short trips from there at this time of year. The hotel is very centrally located. There was a parking space nearby that had to be paid for. But that was okay. Price/performance was good, staff was courteous and friendly. I think I would go again.

A few meters away from the Christmas market and the hustle and bustle. A little oasis in the middle of the city. The cream puffs were delicious.

The hotel room is clean and in order, breakfast is completely sufficient for the price, even if it's baked rolls, it's right in the city center and for a 5 day vacation 130€ it couldn't be better, completely fine for me

Beautiful hotel with a castle view from the room. Everything is within walking distance. Rooms are very clean and staff is lovely and polite. Gets a bit loud since it's situated next to a fairly busy road but it's not a big deal. We rented the family room with kitchenette and it was nice and spacious. Highly recommend.

Great hotel in an old mansion with modern appliances. We had a spacious room with a balcony and views of the castle. The bathroom is made of expensive tiles, plumbing is not cheap.
