The location of the apartment is good. 7-8 min walking from hbf and 6-7 minutes from market. The apartment is spacious and you will get everything which you need.

Just a short walk from cafes and restaurants in one direction and the station with the famous Harz steam train in the other, yet in a quiet street. Large veranda off the kitchen overlooking back gardens.

Price / performance ratio is right. Breakfast is sufficient. The rooms are very clean. Staff is very friendly.

Nice place to stay as a starting point for various hiking trips to the Harz mountains. Decently furnished rooms that have names like "Orient", "Paris" and "Himalaya".

It's a hotel and restaurant right next to the namegiving Schanzen. The location provides indoor and outdoor tables. I didn't visit the rooms but they will be fantastic if they look as good as the restaurant. The brunch buffet was just as delicious as a normal A la carte plate while you can choose to eat whatever and how much you want. The staff was always nice and competent.

Stayed during a festiniog travel holiday to the Harz mountains railway. In central Wernigerode. Could not fault anything about the hotel a great experience. Breakfast buffet great. Evening meal in restaurant. Good value and good food cost approximately euro 38. Half liter of local beer would happily return.

Great vacation home! You lack nothing. The welcome is very warm and you are shown the house, you get tips on what to do. There is also a folder with lots of information in the house. Great sauna and nice staff. The apartments are comfortable and spacious but some of the furniture is a bit shabby which feels strange. Breakfast was ok, not exactly great but that might be due to the times. (COVID)

This is a nice small hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is a typical small hotel breakfast. Good thing is that you can use your invoice as a ticket in Wernigerode buses. I would definitely stay there again. And they also have a sauna in the hotel but I didn't try it.

Charming building right below the castle, at the entrance of the Old Town. Very welcoming employees. Free parking lot. Amazing breakfast. Only remark would be that the rooms in the 'new' aisle are a little bit small if you have luggages. Otherwise, for a weekend in Wernigerode, I highly recomment the Hotel Fürstenhof!

Qaint and romantic hotel. Stable wifi and easy parking. Rooms a bit old but adequate for the price. The check in closed at ten when we visited so call ahead if you're running late. Very friendly staff. Great free breakfast

Good management .. everyday fresh fruits waiting for you in room . Clean . But don't change towel daily , you need to reuse the towel as much you can . it's just to stop overuse of detergents to protect the environments.

Very nice welcome. And not just in German but in English so non German speakers would find it easy as well. Rooms are cozy. Bathrooms need shower curtains and may be a provision of a fan (but again this summer could be an exception), these two things can be considered for little improvement. Breakfast is good but still think a vegetarian or vegan people have less options as everywhere else.

A family owned hotel a few minutes walk from Wernigerode Railway Station. A restaurant review: Classic German food. A bit uninspired and just medium quality. The service was very good. The restaurant has a good view on the historic steam train. The train theme is picked it in the restaurant where a model train delivers the drinks.

a great hotel only down side is noise of local fire station but has good restaurant and is less than 10 mins walk from hsb and local station and 8-10 min walk from town centre and I good room viewing the hsb railway I will be back soon thank you to all at hotel altora mr earl

The dining experience is excellent. The little train that brings drinks and dessert is such a quirky feature you'll not be able to take you're eyes off it.

If you're a railfan this is THE place to stay when you visit the HSB. The engine terminal is right across the street. The place is decorated with train pictures and memorabilia. The food in the restaurant is EXCELLENT! Very yummy and the dishes have railroady names. And the staff are very friendly and helpful!

A nice hotel with amazing rooms. I do though reccomend that you check in before 20:00, later than that can make it a little troublesome.

The hotel is situated on the northeast end of Breite Straße, the main street of Wernigerode and it is not far from the main train station. The room is comfortable but the room window is facing the hotel inner courtyard which is also used as the outdoor dining area for the hotel restaurant so it can be a little bit noisy in the early evening but it is all quiet at night. The hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The parking lot is a little far away, but it is safe because it is surrounded by a gate. Loading and unloading of luggage can be done on the street parking, so there is no problem. We also ate dinner at the restaurant. The schnitzel was wonderful and delicious.

A host who cares about the guests. On the 24th and 25th of December he cooked very tasty for his guests, unscheduled. Very nice staff, quiet area, parking lot, no luxury but well managed, loving care. We would love to come back.

Idyllic location, with simple rooms ... but quite cozy. The extra entrance to the annex is an advantage for me, which is very practical as a dog owner. You shouldn't expect luxury, but nice people, relaxing time and lots of beautiful nature. The walk to the pedestrian zone is not too far, but not well-lit in the dark. Breakfast is great. In conclusion: Recommended ... we would book here again

It's ok, parking is good, breakfast is nice, children's meals are more for adults with regards to taste and ingredients, rooms are good, internet is hit and miss, cannot stay connected for more than 2 mins. People are typically east German. I would rather eat at the potatoe house than here.

Decent hotel, clean, quiet. Wifi is ok, a big parking in front of hotel. Nothing special though, nothing extra perfect. There is a nice path through forest to the nearby castle.

A pleasant stay in a pleasant hotel. A nice time in general. I would likely pick this hotel again if I stayed in Wernigerode. I was worried about being disturbed at night but was not. Out of the local restaurants, a Greek one was best. The Brocken train ride is the headline attraction. It is very pricey, but worth it. Recommend a good walk from Schierke to where the Berlin Wall was.

This was our second time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The owner took time for us and made a recommendation for specially offered dishes. We take advantage of this offer and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious again. So always with pleasure.

FRIENDLINESS is very important here. I came with my 80 year old mother. She needs oxygen. Delivering the oxygen was not a problem. The room was great. Breakfast delicious. We ate there on 2 evenings. Great price for the room, with a great buffet breakfast included. They didn't require a credit card to reserve a room, were incredibly friendly and prepared our breakfast table with a baby seat without us having to ask.

Stayed for 2 nights in an apartment for 2 people. We also took breakfast. The room was like a studio apartment but spacious. It was clean, huge bathroom as well with a tub. If you want to cook you can but there were no utensils only cutlery and plates were provided. nice little hotel right behind the tourist office. My room is right at the back of the restaurant. Once got check-in, I could go to the city by passing through the stair at the restaurant. Room was okay. Like on my last visit it wasn't heated upon arrival. Bath had some dirty spots and door showed signs of a break in. Other than that everything was fine and there's a great breakfast buffet.

Stayed here a few times. The rooms are ok, staff is great but the WiFi is always terrible. I come here for work and not having a stable, high speed WiFi is unfortunately an issue. If WiFi is not something you need this is a great hotel with a perfect location!

Attended a wedding party at the hotel. They prepared the Terrasse for us and we had the place for our own. Lovely prepared food and friendly staff. Quite neighborhood and good music. All in all a lovely place to enjoy with friends. I would recommend it

Ober-Hammer-Nostalgic. Here we come again. The rooms are clinically clean and lovingly furnished with the smallest details on the subject, you feel like family here. As soon as you enter the villa, you are greeted with a touch of history. A very beautiful usable garden and direct access to the hiking trails make the stay a legendary experience.
