A hotel with comfortable rooms and excellent guest service at both reception and the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious, varied, and complete. It was served at your table. We had dinner at the hotel with the same excellent service. Warm decor and a pleasant atmosphere.

We have been staying at the Hotel Emporda for many years. Not just when we are passing through, but also as a starting point for excursions and sightseeing. The rooms are simple but big enough and functional, beds are good, the bathrooms work very well and have a whirlpool bath. Air conditioning is available as well as heating in winter. Plenty of free parking on site or a secure, inexpensive underground car park are an alternative for those traveling by car. Two petrol stations are a few hundred meters away. Charging facilities for electric cars are available on site. The hotel is a family business, now in its third generation. The hospitality and well-kept nature of the hotel and restaurant is remarkable. A small family business certainly cannot have everything new and fancy like the big chains. But instead of gimmicky furnishings, you get very well-kept hospitality and fair prices. The location is excellent (close to the center, close to the motorway). The view to the rear over the Penedès goes all the way to the sea. The large restaurant "El Motel" has only been open for lunch for a few years now, but it was and still is _the_ opportunity to enjoy modern and excellent Catalan cuisine where it was practically invented. Make sure to make a reservation on Sundays, otherwise recommended. In the evenings, the small restaurant is available with a smaller menu. The inexpensive, served breakfast made from first-class ingredients is particularly good, even excellent. It offers every possible choice and the flat rate already includes three extensive items to choose from, including hot drinks and (e.g. freshly squeezed orange) juice. You can see the long gastronomic experience at every corner and you can really feel like a guest and particularly comfortable. Dogs are allowed. Stay one night longer and visit, for example, the Dali Museum (15 minutes' walk) or go on a hike through the Penedès. From here, a clear recommendation for the hotel and restaurant.

Knowing the Motel, I was not surprised to receive the attention and services, both at dinner and breakfast: perfect! The room is simple but with everything you need, plus a hydro-massage bathtub. I wish the hotels in Spain where I go were like the Motel: it would be ideal. You may like the decoration or not. But if I had to sum up in one word what this establishment expresses for me, I would say: class. As it has always been.

Beautiful hotel just on the Figueres city limits. We had a fabulous dinner at their Wine Bar restaurant, and the service was first class. Breakfast the next morning was awesome, too. This is a great place to stay.

Friendly welcome. Renovated rooms with comfortable mattresses on the bed. The extras are great (fridge, slippers and large rooms).
The old decorative pillows on the bed give an unclean impression. The windows should be replaced with more soundproof ones so that you are not disturbed by street noise at night.

We had a very pleasant stay (5 nights). Everything was perfect. The staff was very welcoming and caring. The hotel was very clean, spacious and very well soundproofed. Its location allowed us to visit the region (the museums dedicated to Dali), the medieval villages and the seaside towns. The parking available was a plus. Finally, breakfast and dinner were up to par. Thanks again to all the staff who are very dedicated. We highly recommend this hotel.

This is an unpretentious but clean and comfortable hotel. No elevator or French TV. But value for money is unbeatable. Hearty Catalan-style lunch and restaurant of the same ilk. Great for 2 or 3 days of a change of scenery.

We were most impressed with Hotel Emporda from start to finish. Check-in was ok, although a complimentary coffee would have been appreciated. Why should we pay while waiting! The room (103) looking north to the castle and the main road was fine. Breakfast was a delight, and with several options. Booking taxis is an issue, and hotel staff were extremely helpful with this. I would certainly recommend this hotel, and may one day return.

Usually we do not have to wait for long to get served in the restaurant in the evening, but this time we came around 8.30 and discovered a nearly full restaurant and only two waiters trying to cope with all the tables. Frustrating to wait for the first glass of wine for 45 minutes and even longer for the food - which did live up to our expectations.
