A very clean and tidy hotel. Decor are a little basic but adequate for the price.

Spa is a public swimming hall that the hotel guests can use free of charge. Good location, good breakfast.

Cozy place with ideal location The best thing about this hotel is its location, ideal for easily reaching interesting events or happenings in this big-size small town. The second best is the possibility of using spa services, for which, however, there is seldom enough time during short stays.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Although we had a language barrier, they were empathetic and great. Always offer me a coffee if I happen to drop by.

The breakfast restaurant wasn't that accessible, food lane crowded up with only about 15 people eating, most tables where up a small flight of stairs. Spa section was actually a swimming hall open also for the general public.

Despite being located near the motorway, it doesn't cause any disturbance. Nesr the place os also a bird watching tower. We had some problems like dirty cups in the room, called the reception and took them an hour to come "replace" the cups but was just wiped and brought back to us, cups were still dirty from the inside. No soap on the bathroom. Noticed hair on the supposed to be clean towels and dirty...

Great little hotel close to the motorway. Visited here while working for 8 Solutions in a local Data Center at Hamina just before Christmas 2014. Staff friendly and have great English. In fact there's an English class held here for the town's younger population. We stayed here as a B&B with evening meals and the Breakfast was great with an all you can eat style but obviously biased towards a Finnish...

The idea is better than the outcome, but a very pleasant mansion some 10 km away from downtown Kotka. Beautiful riverside and all in all nice surroundings, including a pleasant surprise park 10 minute walk away.

Beautiful old building with many charming details both inside and out. Our room was very large but singles in our party had normal sized rooms. The breakfast was fabulous with many choices for an American or European palate. Just a heads up, there is no A/C. We visited in the fall so this wasn't an issue for us. Overall, I highly recommend.

Value for money The hotel was better than expected considering the low price. Rooms are small but clean and in good condition. Refrigerator and kettle provided. It was a good base for touring the area. A pretty park close by. Good breakfast.

Surprisingly there seas a mirror above our bed, but luckily I was with my wife so it was good fun. Room with Sauna was good, breakfast was OK. Definitely recommend. Will return again.

A very good summer hotel. In a beautiful location near Kotka's beautiful alpine rose park in Sapoka. The marina, Meriniemi beach restaurant, Tulikukko and Maretarium are just a few steps away. From the top floor of the hotel, there is a beautiful view of the sea to the Kotka archipelago, which exudes centuries of history.

College hostel. Each has its own bedroom. Everything is there in the kitchen. No TV and no air conditioning. But cheap and right in the park and on the beach. Places for walking and swimming nearby. Parking is free. I like it. The photo is a view from the balcony. Breakfast is good. Porridge, eggs, vegetables, brewed coffee. The last photo shows the hotel on a hill right in Sappoka Park.

The good location of the summer hotel, near Sappoka Park, the shore of the bay. From the balcony and from the kitchen of the extreme block there is a stunning view of the bay. The block has a spacious room, equipped kitchen, shower and toilet. There is a continental breakfast.

Were in July 2014 while passing during a vacation in Scandinavia. Decent place to stop and rest. Quiet, uncharacteristic for finladia design, what fun. Opposite the hotel circuit and a Museum of American cars, but if there are bikes, then a great distance and for excursion in the centre of Kotka.

Great place to stay, original design, cheap. Toilet free Wi-Fi it is a pity only in the lobby, a bar for every budget, and to the global auto JSA I don't care. Was there with my wife and son very much.

We could not have had a better place for our last night in Finland before heading back home. A little remote, quiet and peaceful. Small but very clean rooms which were renovated. A good selection for the breakfast made the stay even more pleasant. We only would have wished that the restaurant would be open in winter.

Delightful peaceful location with beach access, nature walk & family friendly play facilities close. We stayed two nights in a two bedroom family room & were impressed with how they fitted the facilities into a small space.

Location was good, next to the center of Kouvola, breakfast was a bit mediocre, no fresh vegetables and no restocking of food. Rooms overall okeyish, a bit outdated maybe, seemed to be clean apart of a used snus packet in the corner of the room. Compared to the price tho it was okey, 3 stars out of 5.

I stayed in a two person room since there were no single rooms left so it cost me the price of two people. The staff was informative and kind. The room was clean. But the bathroom was inside the room and it was super tiny. The shower head would not stay still on the wall so you had to always hold it. This is a 3-star hotel, so I'll give it three stars. =) It is located right in the center of Kouvola, right on the main street. The bed was very hard so I didn't sleep that much Its a place for guys passing through. Men who work. I was not pleased by the bed. Otherwise, its riverside so its quiet & early morning walk was refreshing.

Sommelo shows its age, but provided us much better value for money during the housing fair than Kouvola chains. Decent sauna with a pool is free.
