Location: in the centre of Kotka, only 1 km from Kotka train station, a 10-minute walk from attractions such as the Maretarium aquarium and the Maritime centre Vellamo. From Kinopalatsi movie theatre complex is located only 50 meters. The international airport Helsinki-Vantaa airport about 130 km away.
Consists of a 7-storey building.

Love the hotel have been there before,
however at the check out the receptionist was not the most friendly I would say. The room was prepaid she said if I wanted an invoice I have to go to the app where I booked and get it there.
I didn’t quite understand as normally they give me the invoice there , but she seemed annoyed Jsut for the simple fact of explaining me.
Also this time the room didn’t have a bad tub. Instead was a good room with a very tiny shower in one side and bigger shower in another side where a bathtub would have been great.
Prices at the restaurant are little high, but still acceptable. It was quite strange that some drinks weren't offered at the restaurant, so needed to go to the bar to get those. We had quite big group eating, still all the meals were served fast and quite the same time. Staff were very nice and spoke good English. Also there were menus available in different languages.
Car park is not optimal, but you can leave your car also outside, it's the same price.
I had my view to inner yard, so nothing to see, just walls, but also there were no noise from there either. Bed was comfortable, but the shower could use some renovations.
WiFi worked alright and mini bar was also available.
If you visit Sokos hotels often I recommend to get the bonus card, it saves money back quite fast.
The food is great, people are kind and helpful, friendly guests.
And the sauna is very very nice!
The stay was amazing, the breakfast was delicious, and there were some great restaurants nearby. The only downside was the noise of the ventilation at night.

My room was in need if an updating, soecially the toilet/shower. Watercrane loose, water from shower leading out on the floor.
Old, dark, interiors in room and toilet.
The bed was dated and not as comfortable as you can expect.
Housekeeping do miss things every day.
Breakfast is good, buffé. A little little of the things on buffét was different during my week stay.
Meeting facility is ok. Fresch refreshmets.
Garage is tight and in basement, €15/day.
Restaurants (3 different) has different food offers.
There is a night club, Las Palmas, closing VERY late, however i didn't hear any noice from the Club on my room at floor 7.

Reception is frienly and helpful.
