Where to stay in Joensuu

Excellent food and service. Rooms were little loud, one could easily hear the night club until 3 am.

Good food and close to the railway 🚃 station 🚉. So, it's easy to Helsinki if your train is around 06:00 am.

I think this may be the best hotel in Joensuu? It locates just in front of train station, with nice breakfast, but it may have weak wifi in the room…., also limited time for Sauna is a bit pity

The location of the hotel is just the best. Closest to the train station and the city center is just a walk away. Had an amazing time there and the cleanliness of the rooms made my stay more comfortable. The fact that the toiletries were changed just one night into our stay made it more enticing. + good child space where you children can play. The personeel at the breakfast was helpful. Thats all. It was a biathlon season there. The first part of World Cup. We lived there on the 2 floor with other athletes. It was completely inconvenient. The smell of socks and uniforms. IT WAS not A PROBLEM of the athletes, but the problem of the hotel that it was not fixed en resolved. Our room was not cleaned...

The location is good, easy to come by train or car, go any where, take a walk or swim. Bed was nice, many pillows, and child lukee his on bed too. The temperature in the room was easy to change. Gym was okey, little, but there can do lot of things. Liked the breakfast too. I would like to come again.

It was better stay than expected. Yes, hotel need little updating, but people was very friendly and that is also mean much. Good breakfast and location. I got good sleeps here. Sauna area is little small. Free limited parking, but I got a place unless arrived at 18.00

Very basic, austere and plain. Less than average breakfast. Nothing particularly bad, but it felt very 1960's, without the good bits. Parking was available, but limited to a first-come, first served basis. Good location in the city centre.

Poor breakfast service. People wait coffee for 1/2 hour. No excuse, no explanation. I dont know what went wrong. The girls did work all the time, but not for the guests. No smoothie, no tomatoes, no pancake, no cake, no normal milk, no service.

The location is very good in the city center, just next to market. Walking distance from railway station is less than 10 minutes. The service at the hotel was quite friendly, but I was so disappointed they did not informed me beforehand about legionella bacterial in the water. They said it is not advisable to have a shower at all and that was a big minus after travelling about 4,5 hours and arriving...

Nice hotel center of Joensuu, big room, good breakfast. Easy to come, parking are not very big, but enough. Early room was good for us, sauna was big and very good size. Good restaurants were easy to find.

Got room on what seems to be the old side, so a bit run down. Also had to use extra lift to navigate within the same floor with child cart.

We stayed here while in Joensuu for the Biathlon World Cup in nearby Kontiolahti. On some of the other reviews, there were comments about the lack of character. Yes, it does lack this, but be honest - this is not what you are visiting Joensuu! NEGATIVES - the are only two negatives. The first was that the bathroom was VERY small and in need of updating. Very nice hotel in a center of city. Friendly service. Nice restaurants and grocery in same building, not to mention alcohol store around the corner. Not the newest hotel but quite well kept. No complaints. Worked for my holiday needs perfectly.

The staff , Heidi and Saverin, were outstanding. My reservation has not come through, and they worked tirelessly to make sure that it was retrieved and that I had a room on time My entire experience was excellent

Had wonderful Karelia Pastry for breakfast on our last day. :) Will be great if there are more varieties for breakfast. Overall we had wonderful 2 weeks stay here.

People and pet friendly, close walk to Joensuu tori (open market), restaurants, shopping mall, businesses, arts, river walk/park. Indoor, secure, warm car parking are, and quality breakfast buffet. Economical, excellent quality, and services.

The room is simple and comfortable, the environment is clean, it is located in the city center, the surrounding is quite lively, there is a supermarket which is very convenient, the scenery outside the window is also very good, and the check-out was delayed.

The hotel service is very good, there are several bicycles that can be used for free, there is free coffee and tea in the lobby after ten in the morning, and pets are allowed.

A good basic hotel, nothing to miss, but it didn't offer anything amazing either. Breakfast good, not extensive but included everything needed. Overall a 4/5 experience.

In my opinion, it is the best suggestion for price-service. It has breakfast, laundry, clean rooms, not overfilled, and a pet friendly hotel. The location is great near by almost everything you want. Big advantage is underground parking lot. Microwaves, coffee and tea in the lobbie. Friendly crew is also advantage. The only disadvantage is the same breakfast every morning. A good beach and comfortable facilities..BUT nothing more than serving breakfast, you had to go to the local store to get dinner. Although the place is for sale, was it because of that?

Overall Amazing place, only stayed for food, didn't test the hotel side, food was excellent and staff was funny and service was fast, i ate a burger and a chocolate cake myself, both were good and warm, i would recommend this place for a visit, it even has a history behind it

This hotel belongs to older ones but prices and services are very good. Staff is really helpful and another thing I appreciate is breakfast. The location of hotel in centre of Joensuu is also very convenient.

The room's door code didn't work and to open the door you had to call the security company, which did help in solving the problem right away. Otherwise, a comfortable hotel.

Very comfortable and clean accommodation. The facilities have been renovated, but the toilet/shower facilities are a bit shabby. However, a special mention of the shower downstairs, with a ceiling nozzle and sufficient water pressure. It was enjoyable to shower. The soundscape is noisy. Clean, we were in a two-person apartment right near the center of Joensuu, a small fridge, a separate kitchen shared by the customers, with a dishwasher, coffee and kettle, microwave, toilet. Limited parking space for cars in the courtyard. Staying 75e, parking fee was 15e. There was no need to fear that someone would punch the car.

We have stayed here a few times in the summer. The last night was a bit difficult. It was very hot at night and the construction work started at seven in the morning. Air conditioning is absolutely necessary when it's a warm summer. The place is affordable.

Nice and clean place! We make good pan pizza downstairs! The only minus is that smoking is allowed in front of the main door, so smoke sometimes comes in through the window.

Lietsu Boutique Apart Hotel turned out to have everything it promised on the website. Central location in Joensuu, but no traffic noise. Air conditioning in the room ensured us a good night sleep. All essential items were available in the room for cooking, with additional carefully selected items like ground coffee instead of instant coffee, dishwasher washing tablets and laundry liquid for washmachine...

Lovely staff, nice rooms and a great breakfast buffet. They also went the extra mile for our baby, when they added things to the room that made our stay easier. The rooms had great AC and blackout curtains so we could sleep great even though it was a horrendus heat wave going on!

Fantastic service, central location and cozy atmosphere. The Carelian theme is a nice touch and adds to the friendly vibe of the place. For sports enthusiasts it’s useful to note that there’s a high quality commercial gym downstairs in the same building. The opening hours are very good and the range of equipment is broad (free weights, machines, cardio).

This is a perfect accommodation for business travel. It gives you the comfort of your own home with all the facilities needed (kitchen, washing machine). It also includes a medium sized sauna overlooking the river, which is perfect for unwinding after a long day. Moreover, on the ground floor of the same building you will also have a gym, with basic machines etc. The location could not be better....

So cozy and clean, nicely furnished in a traditional Finnish (Karelian) style. Staff and owners are always available for a nice chat and are ready to help with your questions. The hotel is quiet although it is located in the town center of Joensuu, as the rooms are in the fifth floor. There is only ten minutes walk from the railway station. There is market place and grocery store just round the corner...

I spent one night at the hotel on a work journey. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in comparison to dozens of hotels worldwide. Very cosy and perfectly managed. The lady at the reception was just amazing, so kind and friendly. Definitely the Lietsu will be my first choice in the future and I highly recommend it. You will never be disappointed.
