Scandic Patria Mini-hotel

Nice hotel near Saimaa Lake,good breakfast and comfortable room,location city center,friendly crew, excellent breakfast, sauna possible

I have stayed multiple times at Scandic Patria while on a business trip in Lappeenranta. Nice and cozy hotel on a good location and with supernice service

I stayed in this hotel for one night for both business and pleasure, room 243. There was enough room for one person, even two would have been quite comfortable, and the bed was good to sleep in. There was a patio outside. However, in case one wanted to have extra airing to the room, it would have been a risk to keep the patio door open during the night, as the patio was on street level and it seems that pretty much anyone had access to that parking lot at the back of the hotel where the patio was. Luckily I did not need additional airing. The air conditioning seemed to function well as the room air felt generally fresh. My nose got a little stuffed at first but it appeared that the reason was the material of the armchair to which I seemed allergic, and when I covered the chair (with clothes), this problem vanished. The view from the room was, as said, to the parking lot. There were no chairs or tables on the patio though, I don't know if they are brought during warmer time or if there are none in general. However, if one wants to move quickly between the parking lot and the room with heavy bags, that would be very convenient. There was very good space for storage. The bathroom also had good space. The cleaning had been done well, and I am picky about that. The hotel staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very nice, with a selection of breads, vegetables, and desserts. However, it would have been nicer to have a little more yoghurt types. There were several restaurants in walking distance from the hotel in the centre. However, I found the hotel area very peaceful in the evening. Overall, this was a good quality hotel. I would recommend it. However, I am not sure if the quality for money ratio is that good.

The location of Scandic Patria is great speacilly due to harbour nearby and it is very quiet place. Marketplace and good mexican restaurant is 10 min.walk. Frontdesk is helpful and room cleaning was good.Gym and Sauna are well maintained.The restaurant at scandic patria is very very costly and breakfast is also not that great. They should also provide some free tea vending machine either in room or at least in lobby.

I gave this hotel 5 stars because it met every need I had for a one week stay for work. The breakfast was delicious and had many options, my room included its own sauna (never had that before!), the shower always had hot water, the WiFi worked great, I slept comfortably all week, the gym was nice, and the hotel spa/sauna were very nice to use in the evening. Great location as well, staff were helpful and friendly. What else do you need?

Nice and quiet, Right in the midlle of town. I liked the location and especially the breakfast. On of the best I've seen a long time.

The room rates were high, but the services and location of the hotel were both ideal. The breakfast menu offered a selection of options, and the designated breakfast times were accommodating of both the early and late risers.

Nice breakfast, indoor and outdoor parking, walking distance to the harbour, to the fortress as well as to the city center with restaurants. The rooms are ok, good sized bed. A bit old fashioned, but clean.

The hotel has great location, near the lakes. Clean and relatively quiet rooms, Good breakfast. Nice sauna at the last floor, with access to a balcony for cooling down, but it was only open for a couple of hours after 19:00 (at least in Summer).
