Hotel & Spa Resort Jarvisydan

This hotel won't help to improve my perception of luxurious hotels on environmental impact.

The hotel looks eco-friendly but the concept of sustainability is inexistant.

How it could be that there is no way of stopping air conditioning in the rooms ? The outside temperature during our stay in August is very pleasant (min 15 degrees, max 25) and when we arrived in the room the temperature was 19 degrees, with A/C working at the maximum. We struggled to stop it (no information on how to use it, it is actually a screen near the entrance FYI), we called the reception who called us back after 10 minutes (as they are generally not answering immediately) to let us know that A/C is always working, otherwise it would be too hot in our room!!! No way to stop it ☹Hey guys we are in Finland, not in Dubai !!! We had so far not used any A/C in any place in Finland, and it was very fine, you can let people decide what they want...

I won't comment the individual saunas/jacuzzi in each room, I guess some people like it... in my opinion, it would be much better to allow free access to the spa to all guests of the hotel.

With such expensive rooms, how do you dare to ask 33 euros more for each guest to enter the spa ? In most of the hotels I visited, spa services are included as services in the room package.

And last but not least on this topic, most of the articles sold in the souvenirs shop are made in China !!! Don't you have local or made in Finland products here ???

Apart of this, the room and the bed were comfortable, despite that you always hear a light noise (A/C working!) and the room is very light, as there is no curtain on window of the entrance door.

Otherwise food in the bistrot restaurant and breakfast were quite good. Personal was nice too (but couldn't help much…).

The room is not at all peaceful. We explicitly booked ”the most peaceful” Panorama Suite, but unfortunately it’s far from it. People walking by the road next to this ”peaceful” suite can see everything inside. Additionally, every single neighbor has direct line of sight to our hot tub. As I’m writing this, someone is drilling something outside of our suite.

The service is very lackluster. We booked dinners in different restaurants around the area for each night. On the first day, when we checked in, the service staff told us that our first night’s reservation was not what we had booked originally. Well, she kindly rebooked us to Solitary, as originally planned. 30 minutes before leaving to Solitary, we get a call that our reservation had already started 30 minutes ago and that we didn’t show up. We eventually got to eat at Solitary at our selected time and that restaurant was great, but the hotels service was not ideal. On the second morning, we wanted to ensure once again that everything is correct with our bookings. For our last evening, we had booked a stand-up show and a dinner, which were promoted as a bundle. Apparently, they had booked them on top of each other, in different locations. We ended up having to cancel the original restaurant reservation and eat at the later reservation, which was already very late in the evening. After this second time here, we will not be coming back again.
